Clinton reached out to these people and what did it get him besides impeached. Obama needs to try throwing his pro-choice supporters under the bus to keep his gay supporters company. Maybe then the reich will try not to do everything in their power to destroy him and undermine the mandate he was given by the American people to clean up the Republican mess.

Your country is fucked. In more enlightened countries, drug abuse (use/possession) is not seen as a felony. It's more a cry for help, a "sickness", or a social problem. We like to rehabilitate people, not lock them up.

Not idiocy. Without Prop 13, owning a home in California over the past 30 years would have become affordable only to those having lots of wealth or very high incomes.
The basic problem in California isn't Prop 13. It's that the legislature is so beholden to special interests that it cannot serve the public interest.
Same problem as in D.C., EXCEPT California has to have a balanced budget (more or less).
