Someone should get the video of this morning's Morning Joe, where Joe is defending the use of torture. He went bat shit crazy!!

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

And I deserved just what I got. Who enjoys watching this clown and his peons?

pissed off patricia's picture

Well when he went on his rant, he became a total disgrace and owes an apology to Crista Freeland. Hers was the only true voice of reason.

I'd say that this whole Joe-the-Plumber-as-war-correspondent episode illustrates the complete collapse of Conservatism as an object of intellectual weight if I didn't just know in my gut that there's still a whole lot further for these guys to fall before they hit rock bottom.

liberalNmoderation's picture

Just showed the ENTIRE world how much of an unthinking moron he actually is...
And when this particular brand of conservatism does finally hit rock bottom...they will be full-blown Nazis.

For all the heat Obama was taking for having Rick Warren offer a prayer as part of the inaugeration ceremonies, its only fair - and a pretty good sign - to point out the inclusion of Gene Robinson.

Joe the fu*k up is an embarrassment to reporting and to this country. When you read what he said, you realize this guy is just too damned stupid to be anything. Joe, the total waste of human flesh.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

Agree. Aren't his 15 minutes up?

I'm just hoping he's buying a lot of crap on credit with his new found fame and "friends". I'm hoping he goes the Vanilla Ice route and has to settle for becoming Joe the gas pump jockey.

pissed off patricia's picture

I have seen nothing to make me believe he is intelligent enough to operate a gas pump.

First McCain gave us Failin' Palin and then he gave us this idiot. Thanks to every voter who voted for Obama for not voting for McCain. Jesus, just imagine if a week from tomorrow McCain and Palin were getting sworn in. I think I remember McCain saying at some point that he would take Joe the fu*k-up to the white house with him. To do what, be his press secy?

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

"I don't think the, ah, Press secretary, should, uh, you know, really ever talk to the press, because, you know, government and military and stuff are much more efficient when no one is asking questions. Things were much better in WWI and WWII when thousands of kids were dying and everybody felt pretty good about it - well except for the darkies..."

(Excerpt from Joe's first day in the McCain administration)

Good one! But I think your grammer was too correct for Joe.

The people who still come to this site with the ridiculously baseless "Obama will be more of the same" with the McCain/Palin catastrophe glaring as an alternative, can simply eat shit.

That actually looks good, I'll eat shit thanks guys.

...for McCain to reveal where bin Laden's hiding and his plan to capture him!

(though, I'm pretty sure bin Laden's been dead for several years and really had nothing to do with 9/11)

Really insightful article. Thanks for the link.

"To say that Zionism has failed is not to suggest that the state of Israel can or should be dismantled but to say that Israel will never become what it was hoped to be."

Is it too late to go for the south Florida Jewish homeland idea? The ex-Cubans might be an impediment, but at least the infrastructure is better.

Nowwhat's picture

Are you saying we should re-establish the state of Israel in south Florida?
Don't they stone people within that break the law of god? I don't mean with weed I mean wrapping them in white sheets burying them shoulders down in sand and commence throwing heavy rocks till the sheets are red and the criminal hunches over dead. Do we want this here in the states ? Don't you think it is bad enough here?

I could be wrong, but I think I might be right.

Old Billy's picture

I think there are probably some orthodox jews who would want to practice that, but I don't think its state sponsored in Israel (anyone who knows better can refute or confirm?)

I'm just saying that if its so damn important to us that the Jewish people have a homeland, maybe we should contribute more than rhetoric. I'd say we could draw the green line at I-4.

ThunderMonkey's picture

Did the guy that covering the war for a media outlet, just say that the media shouldn't be covering the war?

Ow... I just got a headache.

Thanks Joe.

Joe knows all about biting the hand that feeds him, doesn't he?

What the hell is he doing over there anyway? Who cleared him for this mission and what the fu*k were they thinking? Yeah, better not to cover wars because then that damned truth won't sneak out.

An excellent analysis in the link but exactly how did it constitute a condemnation of Zionism? Zionism failed? Last time I checked Israel was still there.

What is coming? California is cutting education. the church down the street is teaching the story of Herod the Great. I am getting scared. Very scared.

I was reading an online magazine from the west coast a small quote. "Drugs don't make seeds."

I always enjoy and read your blog roundups, though I don't comment on all of them by a long shot. It's great to get little pieces of the puzzle that were missing, even if we didn't know they were.

There are so many crises at hand, it's really difficult to prioritize their impact on one's own life. I don't know whether to plan for the economic collapse or global climate change or living in an America with no infrastructure or food. They ALL seem inter-connected and imminent.

At any rate, as someone who tries to "take everything into account", it's good to have one's information fix!

surfjac's picture

I'm sure many of you took the time to read, "Beggars Can Be Choosers" and probably said the same thing: "What an accurate description of the Bush legacy!"

From the article:
"About the only thing future historians will remember about Bush's presidency is that he presided over the beginning of the end of the American empire. And it's clear that his bungled response to 9/11 was a key factor in America's ultimate demise as a superpower.

It's this last point that is especially noteworthy. Bin Laden realized early on that his ragtag group of Al-Qaeda fighters could never defeat the U.S. militarily. And horrific as they were, the 9/11 attacks by themselves were a mere pinprick on the overall American economy.

For bin Laden to succeed, he needed the unwitting cooperation of George W. Bush. And that's exactly what bin Laden got, with Bush's disastrous, bungling response to the 9/11 attacks."

One has to ask, why is this man still breathing free air? I'm not talking about bin Laden, I'm talking about Bush. While I and many, many others regarded the Iraq invasion as an utter mistake from before day #1, I never considered going and f-ing up al Qaeda and the Taliban as wrong but I did feel that not enough ordinance was dropped. After all, we still refer to them as the Tora Bora mountains, not the Tora Bora crater. Once the pummeling stopped and the capture or death of bin Laden a certainty, then leave. We had the moral high ground, military superiority, the world on our side and once the mission was done, we would do what no one else has done, just leave! NO reparations, NO treaties, NO anything after the fact. The Muslim world would be happy that we are no longer in Afghanistan and we would have actually accomplished the mission: bringing OBL to justice and strike a blow against international terrorism. Now, I don't doubt this may be an over-simplification but since we learned nothing from the soviet invasion of Afghanistan, we were condemned to repear their mistake. Only George W. Bush and his band of neo-con criminals could screw up this bad! Que Lastima!

Meanwhile, the national discourse on torture is growing worse.

Michael Heart writes and performs this touching song for Gaza.

"We will not go down (in Gaza tonight)"

---------------------------------------------------------------------

As the killing of innocent civilians in Gaza continues the United States ships Israel more than 3,000 tons worth of ammunition.

Meanwhile, Venezuela is sending Gaza about 100 tons worth of medical supplies and food.

In another horrific incident today, the Israeli army shelled a house while its residents were still inside. Eyewitnesses said that they heard screams of women and children inside as an Israeli army unit was standing a short distance from the area, watching. Then an F-16 buzzed overhead and dropped a bomb on the house. When the smoke settled and a few survivors tried to escape through the front door, Israeli troops opened fire killing two children. They were sisters.

Gunfire was heard across the Syrian border with Israel yesterday. The Israeli government immediately filed a complaint with the UN saying those shots are a violation of international law and called for an immediate investigation. Contrast this with Israel's deliberate shooting of two UN drivers in Gaza, the targeting of a UN official and raining bullets on her armored vehicle in Gaza and Israel's refusal to recognize the UN's ceasefire resolution and Israel comes out of this whole ordeal as the most hypocritical country in the region. According to UN resolutions and international law, the Golan heights are occupied Syrian territory. The audacity of Israeli Chutzpah
