So glad I decided I couldn't stomach Rick Warren. Ick. Guess he didn't read that Bible he teaches.
Is this a coronation? A reflection of the good ol' days? 100 million plus dollars, for what exactly? The only other nations that have this kind of "show" are usually dictatorships, or where they still believe in Kings and Queens. My nation has the joy, of watching the new PM give a speech in Parliament. Must cost a fortune.
It has been pretty common knowledge for years in Evangelical circles that Warren had set up his so-called 'charities' to hide the majority of his income. He can say, without lying, that he gives away 90% of his income and guilt his followers into giving more (usually to his church). What these people conveniently choose to ignore is how he THEN takes a 'salary' from the charity. And how the charity pays for his travel expenses and other incidentals.
To my knowledge no one connected with his church has ever asked what these charities have actually done. Well, other than line Rick's pockets with extra cash.

The supervisor of the schools has to be an idiot. The inaugeration of a president is a current event which all students should be required to watch. For them to have to get parental permission is ridiculous. Color shouldn't be a factor.

I seemed to recall that discussion soon after 9-11. People were shocked that our own government would talk about killing our own citizens that way.

Maybe Crooks & Liars would like to post this video as an example of what the Israeli government in Palestine and the United States government directly in Iraq and Afghanistan and many other places are doing to many, many families right now.
Apparently a Gazan Palestinian physician was scheduled to appear on an Israeli TV broadcast for a telephone interview from his home in Gaza. Literally while he was waiting on the phone for his interview to begin, the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) shelled his house, killing his daughters outright and wounding the doctor himself. The man's horror and grief was broadcast live for 4 minutes.

The death toll has passed 1230. It was 1100 about three days ago. As the clean up goes on, more bodies will be discovered and we could see that number rise in the coming days.
Israel has to wipe them all out before anyone notices.

Israel using tungsten bombs on Gazans, says Norwegian doctor who worked in Gaza's hospitals.

Evidence is mounting that the following munitions have been used by Israel:
1. White Phosphorous
2. DIME (Dense Inert Metal Explosive)
3. Cluster bombs
4. Depleted Uranium
and
5. Tungsten bombs.
I had to look up the DIME Bombs. Scary stuff. Weapons so new the doctors have no idea what kind of wounds they are looking at or how to treat them.

Didn't the old weapons kill us just fine? Its like an agonization factor has been engineered into new weapons.
I should make a correction to my original post.
It seems DIME bombs already contain the tungsten powder.
So when the DIME goes off, blasting micro-shrapnel in every direction, tungsten powder is scattered all over the affected area, gets absorbed into the skin and has long term effects (i.e. cancer).
I love the part where Rick tells his flock to be the same kind of mindless sheeple that followed Hitler--HITLER! And the truly sad part of it is that these mindless, superstitious sheeple think this is a good idea. The man is dangerous.
