C&L's Late Nite Music Club with The Script: In honor of my little munchkin who turned nine years old today
In honor of my little munchkin who turned nine years old today (Mommy is having a hard time dealing with her baby getting so big, thankyouverymuch), I offer up a mondegreen challenge.
Thanks to the wonders of the iPad keyboard app and piano instruction on YouTube, my kids have learned to play the melody of Breakeven, among other songs. The only problem is that my little one can't quite get the lyrics right. She sings "I'm falling, for Pete's sake" quite plaintively, instead of the correct "I'm falling to pieces". I kinda like the exasperation of her version, personally.
Any mondegreens you'd like to share, especially if you think it improves upon the original?

This song was a hit for the British band, Status Quo, back in 1967. Actually, it was their only hit, but they did a pretty good job of making psychedelic rock sound more bubblegum. However, despite their one-hit wonder status, the band continues to record and tour to this day, so you've got to give them points for determination. Read more...
