Democratic strategist and progressive blogger James Boyce appeared on MSNBC yesterday to discuss Obama's plan to deal with illegal immigration. Boyce shocked host Contessa Brewer and fellow strategist (though for the GOP) Ben Port by suggesting that the reason that Obama may be in for a battle on some commonsense reform because the Republicans--in addition to being reflexively obstructionist--have a wee bit of a racism problem when dealing with immigration.

What? Republicans haven't been beating the whole racism drum when it comes to immigration? Then tell me why so many Republicans refused to get behind GOP presidential candidate John McCain on the basis of his immigration stance?

Be honest, Contessa, the Limbaugh Party is hardly known for fighting racism. Does the fact that Californian Republicans are resurrecting Prop 187 make you wince, even just a little bit?
Macaca, anyone?

Can you think of any other flagrant examples of Republican racism? Leave them in the comments and I'll forward a link to James to back him up next time he's questioned by those pearl-clutchers.

...telling a calling that said they were black to take the bone out of their nose...
...calling people who are on welfare.."those people".and using the emphasis in his voice that most of us have heard from elderly relatives in relation to black people.
...Barack the Magic Negro...nuff said.

Right on with the right on........

It was even more flagrant when he had his television show.

Good on Boyce.

The vast majority of the right-wing/Republican anger toward illegal immigration is all about racism.

More people got to call a spade a spade and call out these anti-illegal immigrant zealots as racists.

The illegal immigration is no different than in the past when many Germans, Italians and Irish snuck into this country.

Only difference is the color of the skin.

there was outrage and backlash against the Irish and the Italians too.

For a while during WWI there was some backlash against Germans too.

Not saying that there isn't a racist element involved in THIS particular issue...Just saying, it is normal..but prejudiced..for there to be a backlash against the "unknown" as it starts mainstreaming into society.

Not sure about the others, but the Irish were considered by the British, and many Americans, to be a separate, inferior race. It very much was a racial issue.

We all remember "Irish need not apply"

How about "Irish only" waterfountains and "Irish only" bus seats?

Putting out a little historical perspective.
As in the Irish, Africans, Mexicans, Chinese, Italians, Poles, French, Spanish, Brazilian,Peruvian And pretty much anyone who wasn't one of them.
,Surely this didn't pass you right by.

Please tell me that this wasn't lost to you.

Yes, blacks got it much worse, but my point is that it was still a racial issue.

"Well, alright. We'll take the ******s, Mexicans, Japs, Chinamen and Italians.......but we don't want the IRISH!!" - Blazing Saddles

Anyone who wasn't a WASP.

Are you Racist?
Another derogatory name for Black people.
Don't use that term, spade a spade, any more or the Race Police might be on your trail.

"Ace Of Spade"

Robert Cray used to play it over the p.a. before he started his show.

Just sayin'.

Because you will if we put up every example of Republican racism over the past 40+ years.
From Nixon's 'Moral Majority,' to 'Macaca,' to McCain's 'That one over there...," to the latest outrage, there is a lot of material to cover.

Is an attempt at a racial smear.

this one. Very disturbing.

...and say it looks like Fox News took some GOP members to heart when they claimed the reason the Republicans lost was because they weren't tilted far enough to the right.

that way.

Why is that stuff allowed?

was immigration. Everything else they were cool with.

Illegal wars. Torture. Illegal Spying. Patriot Act.

Screw the Constitution. It's just a piece of paper.

But when it came to immigration.

Even Racist have a line they won't cross.

It's the same Terri Schiavo / Tea Party diseased ignoramus douchebags every time. If only this was a terminal disease rather than merely a disease of the mind - this country would be INSTANTLY better off if they all just went ahead and died already.

And

here.

Backlash against Italians, Irish, and Germans, and others still exists today. There are many people who refer to me as a Wop or Dago. I just ignore it or laugh as though I accept the epithet as an innocent gesture. There are bigots everywhere in this country.

hunted by the inmigration services as we speak. And, oh boy is it tough being a German American in this country, eh? Oh the burden of being white in this country... facing all that "racism." LOL.

So the question begs to be asked, were you born *that* stupid... or are you following a strict concern trolling regime to improve on your idiocy?

He's agreeing that racism is rampant in America. Don't get pissy on him. "People of color" are not the only ones who get it directed at them. Bigotry is all over, and nobody holds a copyright on getting insulted, spat on and/or beat up.

Christ, grow up, will you?

... a modern day Irish American, or German American, or Italian American have to endure.

Don't tell me to grow up, when you do you little concern troll routine.... m'kay?

LOL.

“So Sambo beat the bitch!”
This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

Senator Trent Lott stepped down as Republican Senate leader yesterday – two weeks after making pro-segregationist comments which triggered a political storm and forced America to re-examine the issue of racism.
Mr Lott announced his resignation less than 24 hours after one of his colleagues, Bill Frist, declared his intention to challenge for the position. A number of other senators were quick to back Mr Frist publicly, indicating Mr Lott's demise was imminent.
In a statement, Mr Lott, 61, said: "In the interest of pursuing the best possible agenda for the future of our country, I will not seek to remain as majority leader of the United States Senate for the 108th Congress, effective 6 January 2003.
"To all those who offered me their friendship, support and prayers, I will be eternally grateful. I will continue to serve the people of Mississippi in the United States Senate."
Observers were surprised that Mr Lott lasted so long after making the comments at the 100th birthday party of outgoing Senator Strom Thurmond on 5 December.
Mr Thurmond ran for the presidency on a segregationist ticket in 1948 and Mr Lott said at the party that had the country supported him, "we wouldn't have had all the problems we have had since then".

S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s quip comparing President Obama’s stimulus package to Zimbabwe’s economic policies

here. I could find these all day long, but I have to run and get some homework done.

But .. but .. Lincoln freed the slaves !!

How can you call Republicans "racist"?

Nevermind that freeing the slaves was done to (1) cripple the South and (2) increase the pool of "free" labor - labor for which the employer didn't have to pay any up front costs, provide food, shelter, clothing, health care.

That he only freed the slaves where he had no legal authority to.

See, the south had ALREADY LEFT THE UNION!

Lincoln revoked and forbid freeing slaves in Missouri and Florida or any state under Union Control.

Republican Ulysses S Grant's slaves were not freed until the 13th Amendment was adopted in 1865.

Many Black Southerners fought for the South and were proud of it!

BENNETT: Well, I don’t think it is either, I don’t think it is either, because first of all, there is just too much that you don’t know. But I do know that it’s true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could — if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky.
Asshat!

Few

more real quick. Here, and a good article about it here.

Even though it was an infinitesimal part of foreclosures in comparison, Bachmann and others blamed the collapse on making it easier for minorities to get home loans. As an aside, Bachmann being a true theocrat would want you to know Jesus always said it was the poor and the different who would destroy democracy.

Because Madia did not fit the "demographics" of the area. (he's the wrong color and a single male)

"Look at what has happened to Miami. It has become a Third World country. You just pick it up and take it and move it someplace. You would never know you're in the United States of America. You would certainly say you're in a Third World country," Tancredo said.

His "crime sweeps" in predominately Latino sections of Maricopa County. His raids of businesses that employ Latinos. His "segregation" of illegal immigrants in "tent city".

"Press passes can't be that hard to come by if the White House allows that old Arab Helen Thomas to sit within yards of the president. Still, it would be suspicious if Dowd were denied a press pass while someone from "Talon News" got one, even if he is a better reporter."

"We just want Jews to be perfected”… by converting to Christianity.

Coulter is not entertaining, except to movement conservatives and paid hacks, but the public reaction to her latest remarks could prove to be quite entertaining. Most conservatives were fine with her calling Bill Clinton gay, Al Gore a “total fag,” and John Edwards a “F****t” They were fine with her smearing military veterans who didn’t agree with her (just as with Limbaugh’s “phony soldiers” comment). Most were fine with her smearing the 9/11 widows, and some applauded her when she called Arabs “ragheads.” Hell, conservatives took her statement about Muslims, that “We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity,” and put it on T’shirts. That statement was six years ago. So her bigotry is not exactly breaking news.

" Has anybody read this book? Inasmuch as the book reveals Obama to be a flabbergasting lunatic, I gather the answer is no. Obama is about to be our next president: You might want to take a peek. If only people had read "Mein Kampf" ...

She's directing these comments to an American Indian.

It's way to easy to cast Republicans as racist and Democrats as non-racist when in comes to immigration. Californians supported proposition 187, and they supported Obama. The controversy is the difference between illegal and legal.

That California is some kind of liberal paradise. I live here, and I can tell you it's far from that. Big chunks of the coast can be viewed as liberal, but go 50 miles inland at any point and you'll find people just as redneck as any Texan.

So the fact that "California" voted for 187 may surprise you, but it sure as hell didn't surprise me. There's LOTS of immigration hysteria here, despite the fact that the whole state economy runs on immigrant labor.

That San Luis Obispo county is pretty much a GOP/christian county.
For the most part. I'd say, 60/40 GOP.

Pat Buchanan quotes:

The burning issue here has almost nothing to do with economics, almost everything to do with race and ethnicity. If British subjects, fleeing a depression, were pouring into this country through Canada, there would be few alarms.

The central objection to the present flood of illegals is they are not English-speaking white people from Western Europe ; they are Spanish-speaking brown and black people from Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Notice that Buchanan emphasizes race, not legality. His implication is that if the so-called illegals were white, there would be no objection to them.

He is, accurately, calling out his fellow republican partners in crime for their overt racism.

that she's shocked? if so, I'm shocked.

Telling whites to "Make more babies" so they don't become the minority.

ha!

well, you have to understand that Contessa Brewer is a Republican, and a not very swift one at that. so of course she hears an argument that says 'Republicans tend to be racist on the issue of immigration' and immediately thinks she's being accused of racsism herself, and just denies that it could be true. she is just not a particularly self-aware person, or a deep thinker. she's just another talking head on TV who sees what she wants to see and omits what she doesn't want to see.

Especially if she's a Republican. She'd fit right in with the other whacko who was just arrested for domestic violence.

Atwater: You start out in 1954 by saying, “N*****, n*****, n*****.” By 1968 you can't say “n*****”—that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me—because obviously sitting around saying, “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “N*****, n*****.”[7]

All in one comment.

McCain shouting at a delegation of Hispanic business leaders, "You people, you people, made your choice. You made your choice during the election!"

i don't remember this getting reported but a few years ago, in response to crazy left-wing criticism that bush didn't care about poor people bill o'rielly said something very close to this (i saw it on his tv show and am just remembering)

"Saying Bush doesn't care about poor people is just not true. He's done a lot for black people since he took office."

i liked it better when the racists knew who they were.

"...THAT ONE..."

all of us white people know racism is over. I mean everybody knows that jackie robinson got to play pro baseball. the only ones talking about racism these days are the freeloading, drug dealing, job stealing, ethnic population of this country.

It IS a snarky comment,right?

and of course. it's how i cope with real life becoming more surreal everyday.

liberal friends.

What still galls me is this topic, actually most topics, full of landmines, get an entire 3 mitutes of air time? It used to be 5 minutes when we watched tv in the 90's. Why do people even agree to be on shit like this?

To say that all GOPers are racist is discriminatory in and of it's self. Not all republicans are racist. Just a whole lotta of the people who speak for them.

and they were talking with the head of Media Matters.
This guy said that O'lielly suggested sending Media Matters a poisoned cake . This isn't racist. But it does show the level of hatred.
Nice one Billo. Keep up the good work/

I'm against all illegal Immigrants no matter what their color or national origin. They are Chinese, Italian, British, Japanese, Indian, Hispanic and every color under the Sun.

It Isn't a Racial issue although too many Racists want to paint it a color!

Deternment camps and when we had German prisoners housed here in America and they were allowed to eat in white resturantes while black American could not. I bet if you took some white Europeans in some southern places and some Mexican-Americans I bet the same thing would occur.

Some real truth to that statement...and the repuke spokeswussy really coiled when it was spoken out loud.

This will be an interesting debate when it surfaces in Congress and from the White House. The repukes want to continue exploiting the illegal immigrants and set up machine gun nests on the borders. That's JUST FINE with them. But to give hispanic people a road to citizenship that THEIR F*CKTARD ancestors had?....ah, NO WAY!!

Adam LaDuca, 21, former executive director of the Pennsylvania Federation of College Republicans, wrote on his Facebook page in late July that Obama has "a pair of lips so large he could float half of Cuba to the shores of Miami (and probably would.)"
LaDuca, who had previously called Martin Luther King Jr. a "pariah" and a "fraud," also wrote: "And man, if sayin' someone has large lips is a racial slur, then we're ALL in trouble."

[Please make your posts shorter. You can divide a post like this into 2 or three parts. Thanks-Sitemonitor]

So the Dems are not racist?
And having a border is *only* a racist position.
Get real.
1. Have you been reading the Left -- even Sheldon Drobney acknowledges that anti-semitism is primarily in the venue of today's Left. Read HuffPo and look at all those who side against Israel and with their enemies. One cannot call for the elimination of the Jewish nation without the commensurate call for the death of Jews.
2. This same anti-Jewish flavor from the Left was expressed immediately after 9-11. Many blamed our support for Israel as the problem. The Left was an active participant in this rhetoric.
3. Having a border and asking for LEGAL immigration is not a matter of color. If we have on border then we have no constitution or laws. These apply to a nation which is defined by a border. It is not about racism.
Please, get real. Let's deal with real racism, not fabricated and politicized racism.

Where do you get this stuff? Because there are some on the left that do not subscribe to the mantra "Israel right or wrong", they are anti-semetic. That is ridiculous. That is the kind of thinking that has not and will not lead to peace in the middle east. It is also blatant prejudice against all Palistinian people. You've just proven Boyce's point.

No.

because there are plenty on the Left who are racist.

One--you are confusing being Anti-Zionist with being anti-Semitic. BIG difference.

Two--the left sides with Israel's enemies? Really? We call for the elimination of the Jewish nation? Sorry, pal, you're going to have to back that shit up with some links. And before you go to all Ward Churchill on me, you better come up with someone who is in the Democratic Party. Because the issue is that the elected Republicans are obstructionist free with their racist rhetoric. Churchill does not speak for the left any more than Fred Phelps speaks for the Christian community.

Three--Again, I'm calling bullshit on the 9/11 stuff. We don't get into discussions about 9/11 here, so I won't go further.

Four--We have a border with Canada too. If it isn't a question of racism, why do all those Republican politicians not have a problem with our northern border? Hint: it's not because they're worried that Canadians are taking our jobs.

I'd respectfully suggest that perhaps before you chide anyone about "politicized racism", you take a real hard look in the mirror.

No.

Not when they side with those who wish to destroy Israel. That is not anti-Zionism. That's anti-Jew. That is racism. You may not hold that position, but it is out there and it is predominantly on the Left.

Name ONE Democratic elected official that does not support the right of Israel to exist.

ONE.

There are racists of all stripes.

There are idiots of all stripes (as should be patently obvious by now).

The argument that Boyce is making is that the commonsense reform that Obama is proposing should get bipartisan support. But it won't. And why? Because in addition to being reflexively obstructionist to any and all legislation Obama proposes, the Republicans in office are racist and don't want to deal with immigration in an intellectually honest way.

You are painting the entire left with a broad brush that makes your point ridiculously inane. You want me to admit that there are some on the left that are racist? No shit, Sherlock. BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT OF THIS POST.

All Republicans? Come on, now. That's a plain b&w fallacy. Stereotyping has the same logical problem as racism. It is the inability to think.
I did not paint the entire left as racist but wanted to point out that your shallow b&w thinking is just that.
It is good of you to admit that some dems might be racist. Perhaps they need some exposure.
Besides, you are the one who suppported coercive violence (remember your "trapped" post?) and that makes your b&w rhetoric frightening.

Where did I say ALL Republicans? I asked for examples of racism from elected officials.

Where did Boyce say ALL Republicans?

Spare me your patronizing bullshit when I've pointed out YOUR logical fallacy. You're so busy trying to create an equivalency with the left that you don't know what you're saying any more. You DID say the left was racist because we side with Israel's enemies. When I cornered you and demanded the name of an elected official (the caveat of the original post), you then said that you weren't talking about elected officials--which means what, Sparky? THE LEFT. No caveats, no hedging..the left. So fuck you.

I support coercive violence? Bullshit. Show me where. Again, put up or STFU.

My black and white rhetoric is frightening to you? Hyperbole much?

I'm done playing with flamebaiting trolls.

"Republicans".
Not some. Not specific ones named. Just the class. A rather broad brush. Just look at the responses you've generated. They're pretty consistent with my observations.
What you perceive as "equivalence" is merely my attempt to confront the over-generalization.
Since you admit that there is racism on "the Left" then perhaps some house-cleaning is in order. (I've confronted the problem, even on Townhall, because my conservatism is driven first by theology, not politics.)
And I did have a problem with the "trapped" post about Mitch McConnell. Even though the group did not have him trapped, the strong rhetoric of suggesting that there was no problem with their efforts and using the term "trapped" set a poor precedent. Some other terminology would have been more appropriate.
It's amazing how an *open* forum can class anyone who disagrees as a "troll" -- a convenient way to avoid dialogue.

Just sayin'.

You are a troll. Troll isn't disagreement, there are plenty of people I disagree with that I have perfectly lovely conversations with. You are a troll because you have no desire to discuss, just to flame bait, insult and create false equivalencies. You're not looking for dialogue. If you were, you would have been respectful from the start. But since you've decided that's not the tactic you like, I've decided to continue in the same disrespectful tone you started.

I will concede that I gave you credit for far too much brain power in the original post when I said that the Republicans would not cooperate with Obama. Most of the readers here are well versed enough with civics to understand that refers to people in elected office, not some Joe Schmoe Republican on Main St. USA. I also discussed specifically the lack of support for John McCain (an elected official) and Macaca (the utterings of an elected official), but since you apparently need everything spelled out to you very slowly, I can appreciate that was too nuanced for you to get.

Finally, I have no earthly idea what you are talking about with a McConnell post. I did a site search on my posts that included the name McConnell and found nothing that had to do with "trapping" McConnell. If you are holding me responsible for someone else's post, then once again, you have created a false equivalency in your mind that I have nothing to do with.

No. But I to take serious difference with your position.

You maintain the red herring of "Macacca" despite its falsehood. I guess the fabrication of racism is enough for you to brand someone a racist, since that was part of your original post. The two weeks that the media took to invent the racism claim was quite revealing.

Surprising that you also don't remember your own rhetoric.
http://crooksandliars.com/2007/07/30/iraq-sum...

That's not trolling.

Be honest, Nicolle, you've not done your homework. Not even on your own posts.

I've done literally 3,000 posts since then. Sue me for not remembering each one. Our search engine didn't even come up with it after 10 pages. Are you related to Mitch McConnell that you held on to this for the last two years?

I'm hugely entertained to see what labyrinthine contortions you will have to make to justify Macaca as anything other than racist...especially from a man who keeps a confederate flag and a noose in his office. Or don't you think those are racist either?

Hey

Macacca as racism has no basis in reality. There may be other problems, but your position is not enhanced by holding onto fabrications. The media contortions might be worth reviewing. They were entertaining.

You cannot think that your say-so will be adequate for it's not racist, can you?

Epic FAIL on your part.

But I do think it's rather silly to play that card. Recalling the history is useful.
What I try to communicate to people is that there the source of political problems is not partisan politics. It is a matter of world view, and that is what I try to deal with. These days I'm far more concerned about the government being the arbiter of moralality. (It's a problem with many Conservatives INO and most all of the Left.)

you are a major joke

LOL

"Please, get real. Let's deal with real racism, not fabricated and politicized racism."

You do realize the drivel in your post is little more than a sad cry for help from a pot calling the kettle black. Don't you?

Boy hasn't taken his irony pills today, so he's lacking in that particular mineral.

don't you get tired of the plain b&w arguments -- that the other side all all bad and our side is all pure and the driven snow? Do you really, really think the Left has zero racism. To be so naive is tragic.

and having the same level of racism as the right.

Equating bullshit is the first argument of those who are guilty as sin. Intellectually dishonest arguments are really annoying. But seem to be all the rage in the conservative camp.

And whose word are you taking for the level of racism? Reading lots of blogs these days, huh?
How about some statistical evidence?
We can talk a lot about the southern democrats, if you like.
It's a problem and it's everywhere.

and you expect me to find the numbers for you so you can prove your hogwash?

Lazy and dishonest is no way to go through life. You are expecting other people to solve your burden of proof, conservatives indeed are the pinnacle of entitlement. LOL...

No

Numbers so you can prove yourself.
But you can't.

Not supporting Isreal is racist when we are supoprting the Palestinians. Think real hard about that and maybe it'll come to you. Aaahhh...I don't want you hurt yourself. Palestinians are a different race and yet us racist support them? Hmmmm, something just doesn't add up.

misrepresentation is not good for your position.
I'm not saying that a failure to support Israel (anti-Zionism) is the problem. But there are those who willingly side with the ones who wish to destroy Israel. That's different. That's a problem. That is racism.

In other words: we should believe you, not out lying eyes.

Jesus tap dancing christ on a pogo stick, your original comment is up there for everyone to see in all its glory. Does lying come second nature to some of you?

Must have gone to a public school.

You must be homeschooled, eh?

LOL. Pathetic...

rhetoric is not just a bit racist?

come on now...dont be naive

Joe

C'mon man. How many times do I have to say it.
It is possible to be anti Israeli govt and not be anti Jewish.. You do know the difference, right?
Just like people can be anti Palestinian gov't(Gaza(Hamas)and still support the Palestinian people.
Not all Jews are warmongers and not all Palestinians are terrrrrrists.
geeeezzuuussssssssss.
Your argument is lost in bigotry.

Again ...
Point #1 was -- siding with those who want to destroy Israel
Point #2 was -- casting the blame on our support for Israel.

The two come as a package. Again, TalkLeft and HuffPo have had plenty of it.

And I went to a small-town public school. Little town of just over 700. Good work ethic, clean air, clean water. Farm work in the summer. Go for a walk in the winter and listen to the snow fall. Sure beats city life.

How dare this Boyce fellow say Republicans are racist! I'm getting together with a few of my friends, Tom Tancredo, Bill O'Rielly, Lou Dobbs, Trent Lott, and David Duke and are going to kick his W0p, Canuck, Limey, Kraut, @ss all the way back to wherever he came from.

God bless America
;-)

Everybody knows that most Reslugs are intolerant, racists.

earth of outs, with such limited mental capabilities. Further proof that Darwinian principles do not apply to modern human populations, where clearly unfit individuals not only manage to survive, but to actually "thrive."

Watch the flood of concern trolls flipping out and trying to make sure we understand how the Dems are equally as racist (never mind the Dem president is half African)... and pushing the envelope by making the "white" majority to be the "real victims" on this brouhaha...

Extra style points for the trolls which open their posts with "I am as liberal as they come but..." in an inane attempt at blaming the messenger and making the GOPers the victims.

Sad buch, in these tough economic times... I certainly hope that some of the trolling contingent, which visits unpo us untold amounts of stupidty, is at least getting paid.

... admitted and apologized for the Republican's racist southern strategy. He made that apology in front of the NAACP no less.

I'm shocked Ms. Brewer was unaware of that.

and somebody has the Nerve to point this out in Casablanca.

REAL SIMPLE: the Racist Democrats use to run Southern politics. Hey, if the KKK wants to have campfires, what the H.

So, after the Civil Rights Act of 1965, most, if not all, of the racist dems became racist Republicans, and they have only given up the South in 2 previous Presidential elections: to Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, who happened to both come from the South and got a better look at than the usual Northern Democratic candidates. Today, the South is the ONLY geographical(N,E,W,S) area of the country with a Negative rating of Obama's current performance.

Today, remember the Minute Men, that "bastion" of modern patriotism? Well substitute black every time they say brown or others, and VOILA, you have the current, very sad example of the modern KKK.

Dan Lundgren, your party is calling you to lead it back from the brink of extinction to it's rightful place in America's political arena as the "Big Tent", as long as u is white and don't like OTHERS!

This can be the DOG Whistle for the LUNDGREN/TANCREDO(sic) "Big Tent" campaign for 2012: For Americans(white), by Americans(white), to protect America (against others!).

dems arent racist?

so i guess that when a dem says "they do jobs americans wont do" that isnt a racist statement

thats right...get the coolie to do the hard work....cuz americans are too good to get their hands dirty

btw, when did it become racist to care that illegals have been taking away jobs that not so long ago were the gateway to legal minorities to become a part of the middle class?

i think more of you should listen to thom hartmann when he talks on this issue...and i dare you all to call him a racist

is "self-loathing" or "guilt-ridden"

... "They do jobs Americans won't do", but it is usually coming from the corporate side (whether Democratic or Bush).

It's also a bs argument. Anybody want to pick strawberries? No? How about for $5000 an hour? Where do I sign up?

It's not that Americans won't do the jobs, Americans just won't do them for the slave wages employers can pay desperate immigrants - especially if we keep them "illegal."

Or work in a poultry processing plant?

Well done, fiver... well done!!

Just get video from any McMarionette/Mooselini rally.

Or roll tape on Fake News. They will give you something in less than an hour.

Or how about the shrub's response to Katrina, Ken White/Blackwell(lots of self-hatred going on there. Michael Steele, Ward Connerly, and forgive me but I can't remember this loser's name, the "black" republican with the gay daughter that hates gays and black folk. Damn, he ran for president, ugly MF.

Take a look at a map of Red and Blue States today and the day LBJ signed civil rights regulation and tell me it isn't race related.

Those on the Right have no shame. Just look at the Republican in Texas the other, who said right to an asian guy's face that, "You guys should change your last name so the we have an easier time pronoucing them."

Rebublicans are a HOOT! You're impression of cool and calm was wonderful Ben.

Do Republicans think we've forgotten the right wing racist crap their spokesmen and women have continually spewed for years and years and years, spew now, and will spew tomorrow? Spare us your BULLSHIT, Ben.

The tea parties and most of the right wing nut job dooms day discussions are all being pushed by racists. Racists, which I might add, who are pushing damn hard for a revolution (race war). They are using every trick int he book too, Christian hate, anti-christ, socialism, communism.... And I am sorry, if Beck isn't a sheet in the closet neo-nazi kkk supporter I will eat my hat.

The election of a person of color to the highest office in the land has the extremists going nuts imho.

Oh, and my favorite quote - "he isn't black, he is half white". <--- seen that a lot lately on right wing blogs and in the comment sections for places like Fox.

I've seen that quite a bit, even just after he was elected. I think that's a way to 1) hedge their bets if he does a good job they can say it was his white half that succeeded and 2) to let us 100% Blacks know that he wouldn't have been elected if it wasn't for his 1/2 white side.

that chick who carved a B in her cheek during the elections!

Remember the racist ranting around that nonsense?!

Kos there was some hate mail up that was truly sickening. I don't know if there is a link up to it yet or not, but it is some really ugly stuff.

that stuff isn't that bad by comparison. But kudos for tying it into this conversation about racism....

Republicans are completely racist.

But racism is inherently a collectivist idea. True Republicans (and the original Democrats) do not put people in groups since it conflicts with the idea that rights are from God.

Doesn't anyone else see how NAFTA correlates to illegal immigration? Look at the historical record. NAFTA destroyed Mexico and lowered the standard living.

Both Bush and Obama want an open border, want illegal immigrants because the collectivists tell them it will advance Economic Integration, strengthen North America economically and be an all around fantastic profitable deal.

In otherwords, BOTH the Democrat and Republican in the video have no clue as to what they are talking about.

Stop illegal immigration by stopping the incentive. Let's help Mexico grow economically but not through Fabian socialist concepts like NAFTA. It is corporate international fascism, ask the Mexicans.

Contessa Brewer must not listen , read or give any thought to what the republicans say or what their policies consist of..
It is not only Racist , but they are against the working class of Americans so much they bleed at the thought that a policy might give them health protection , jobs or a fair wage..

Republican Betty Brown of Texas stating Asian Americans should change their names
before they can vote.

The Mayor of an Orange County, CA, town who sent the "White House Watermelon" email.

This is silly.

GOOGLE AND THE LINKS TO GOP RACISM IS ENDLESS.

Most Famous American Welfare Family in America: The Bush Clan.

When the Bush Family pays back the millions of taxpayers dollars given to

Ugh!

calling the repub's racist is just plain stupid - like most of the blogs here.

take a look at your congressmen and senators who have been in congress for many a moon. many yes many klu klux clan democrats who didn't originally vote for equality. now they maybe saying they want equality, but when they get home they don their robes 'n hoods and march with the rest of their white dressed freak bud's.

between _being_ racist and _using_ racism. Using racism for:

(1) the classic fascist tactic of dividing-and-dispersing popular uprising.

(2) scapegoating the illegal immigrant to take the heat off enforcing fines on business. Businesses love illegal immigrants.

But if a minority has enough money, he should be tolerated. Didn't Tiger Woods eventually get into that country club?

giving Boyce just :21 seconds in his first response and 1:04 to Ben Port. Yup, another 'fair and balanced' media ho.
