Jack Johnson, Upside Down from the AOL Sessions

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I certainly feel upside down lately. Even in my most pessimistic, dark days of the Bush administration, I never expected to feel so disconcerted or discouraged by the Democratic Party, and especially not by Barack Obama, whose uplifting keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic convention moved me to tears. We're clearly in for several more bumpy years. And I think it's justified in wondering if Obama has the ability, much less the fortitude, to lead us through. Perhaps if we could somehow convince him to look at things upside down...

The repeal of DADT and our continuing presence in Afghanistan look to be the major topics of focus on This Week. Unfortunately, ABC decided to include Bob Maginnis, Senior Fellow of the James Dobson's Family Research Council as a legitimate voice in discussing allowing gays to serve openly in the military. Classy, guys. Newt Gingrich is getting more free ad time to ramp up his future presidential run on Fox News Sunday
. Sen. Richard Lugar will be on State of the Union, perhaps to continue to castigate his fellow GOP over paying games over ratifying the START treaty. Rep. Charlie Rangel will also be on, will he have anything more to add to his censure this week? And Yertle the Turtle himself, Mitch McConnell, will be on Meet The Press. How many lies will David Gregory enable him to spew on the American public?

ABC's "This Week" - Retired Gen. Wesley Clark, former NATO supreme commander; Bob Maginnis, national security analyst with the Family Research Council; R. Clarke Cooper, executive director of Log Cabin Republicans; Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness; Tammy Schultz, director of National Security and Joint Warfare at the Marine Corps War College; former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski; former U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad; Sakena Yacoobi, executive director of the Afghan Institute of Learning.

CBS' "Face the Nation" - Sens. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Dick Durbin, D-Ill.

NBC's "Meet the Press" - Sens. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and John Kerry, D-Mass.

NBC's "The Chris Matthew Show" - Panel: Andrea Mitchell, John Heilemann, Susan Davis, Andrew Sullivan. Topics: Will Obama Grab the Deficit Cause and Drive a National Movement for Shared Sacrifice? Why are Combat Commanders and Troops Worried about Open Service by Gays?

CNN's "State of the Union" - Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind.; Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.; Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y.

CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS" - Just what have the 250,000 diplomatic cable from the latest WikiLeaks document dump proven? To help make sense of WikiLeaks, the financial crisis in Europe and its effect on America, we've assembled an all-star GPS panel. Niall Ferguson of Harvard, Richard Haass of the Council On Foreign Relations and Gillian Tett of the Financial Times. Next up, someone Fareed calls "one of the sharpest observers of American politics and life-in-general out there." Bill Maher, the host of HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher".

"Fox News Sunday" - Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D.; Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas; former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

So, what's catching your eye this morning?
