Jack Johnson--Sleep Through The Static from the eponymous CD.

Stuck between channels my thoughts all quit
I thought about them too much, allowed them to touch
The feelings that rained down on the plains all dried and cracked
Waiting for things that never came

Shock and awful thing to make somebody think
That they have to choose pushing for peace supporting the troops
And either you're weak or you'll use brut force-feed the truth
The truth is we say not as we do

We say anytime, anywhere, just show your teeth and strike the fear
Of god wears camouflage, cries at night and drives a dodge
Pick up the beat and stop hogging the feast
That's no way to treat an enemy

Who needs sleep when you have this line up? Who needs sense when you have tea baggin' candidates? Who needs peace when we've gone above, beyond where we should go? There's little sleep through this static promised. As we near the midterm elections, the guest lists go beyond the perennial guests like John McCain and his BFFS. We have WWE exec and minimum wage-ignorant Republican Senate nominee for Connecticut Linda McMahon on with Democratic nominee Richard Blumenthal on This Week. David Gregory follows suit by inviting Democratic Senate candidate for llinois, Alexi Giannoulias with perpetual liar Republican nominee Mark Kirk. Not enough? How about Karl Rove and Joe Trippi on Fox News Sunday? And Fareed Zakaria promises a discussion with the Taliban representatives...how's that for sleeping through the static?

ABC's "This Week" - Connecticut Senate nominees Linda McMahon, a Republican, and Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat; former President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan; French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde.

CBS' "Face the Nation" - Presidential adviser David Axelrod; former Republican National Committee chairman Ed Gillespie.

NBC's "Meet the Press" - Illinois Senate nominees Mark Kirk, a Republican, and Alexi Giannoulias, a Democrat.

NBC's "The Chris Matthews Show" - Panel: Andrea Mitchell, Bob Woodward, David Brooks and Helene Cooper. Topics: Is Obama's National Security Team at War? What's the Evidence Hillary Clinton Might Bump Joe Biden? Are Voters Set to Elect Some Extremists to the Senate?

CNN's "Late Edition" - Reps. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., and Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.; former CIA Director Michael Hayden.

CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS" - Fareed's been saying for years that we need to talk to the Taliban. And now the Afghan government is in supposedly "secret" negotiations with them. Will this be the path to peace for Afghanistan? Fareed's take: maybe, but don't expect any miracles. Then, Americans are gearing up to go the polls. The Tea Party is causing much tumult in the mid-term elections. But just what IS the Tea Party all about? And just what political tradition is it "steeped" in? A GPS panel of great historians and thinkers puts it in all context.

"Fox News Sunday" - Reps. Eric Cantor, R-Va., and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.; political strategists Karl Rove and Joe Trippi.

So what's catching your eye this morning?
