According to iCasualties, the total number of allied servicemembers killed in Iraq is 4,690; in Afghanistan, 1,569. During this same week, Iraq Body Count lists 143 Iraqi civilians killed.
In addition to the passings that This Week provided, it was reported that former WaPo Ombudsman Deborah Howell was killed yesterday in a car accident while vacationing in New Zealand.
