Richard Engel's War Diary

By SilentPatriot

nbc-engel-diary.jpg  It's near impossible to get a sense of what the situation in Iraq is really like from mere press reports. We're inundated with news of the daily carnage (or if you're Laura Bush, the single bombing), but without being there it's hard to grasp what life is like for the average Iraqi. NBC's Richard Engel, who along with CNN's Michael Ware provide some of the best war coverage on television, put together a video diary of his time there and gives us a sobering (and horrific) perspective.

The entire thing is truly worth watching and I'm sure MSNBC will be rerunning it frequently. Check your local listings here
