This is the part of the interview on Iraq, and the last throes. You can see how uncomfortable he is without being in his cocoon...

James Wolcott writes exactly what I was thinking. What the hell was with all that blinking? (song lyrics?)

Wolcott: But was more fascinating that Bush's imperial tone was the fact that during these answers, he was blinking furiously. There's nothing like a tight camera shot to reveal an eyeblink storm in all its telltale signaling. Signaling what? Rapid blinking is usually ascribed to nervousness or prevarication (or both), and Bush, not being in his usual bubble, may have felt the stress, and his inability to confront the truth has become first nature for him....read on

Also notice how much he cackles throughout...(I'll have the second part on the enviornment up later)

Here's the full text of the interview from our earlier post called Actual Journalism

MSNBC anchor Robach implied Bush protesters unpatriotic

MSNBC anchor Robach implied Bush protesters unpatriotic

Media Matters came up with this video: As noted on the weblog Daily Kos, MSNBC Live anchor Amy Robach suggested that protesting President Bush's policies was unpatriotic. Following a live broadcast of President Bush's Independence Day address at West Virginia University, Robach told viewers, "There were a couple of protesters we heard with a few signs, but for the most part, looks like a very patriotic crowd."

Pin up girls for an asymmetrical war

Pin up girls for an asymmetrical war

Jesus General writes a letter to President Bush urging him to use the Bush Twins as pin-up girls to help ease our troops stress levels in fighting for our freedom.

Santorum apparently likes Slavery too

Capitol Buzz :In Santorum's world, slavery wasn't so bad, diversity is bad, and Wal-Mart is NOT bad:

Slavery Wasn't So Bad: "But unlike abortion today, in most states even the slaveholder did not have the unlimited right to kill his slave." ((It Takes a Family, 241)

This is a very sick and twisted individual.

I just banned

This is only the second time in six months that I've had to ban an IP address. I tried to delete all the comments too. Haloscan isn't the greatest at managing comments. Right wingers are all welcome here, but this person was way over the top.

Thanks for the heads up.

Katherine Harris and Celestial Drops

This is not a fake story... I repeat...this is not a fake story.

...But for more than six months, the state, at the behest of then-Secretary of State Katherine Harris, did pursue one alternative method -- a very alternative method. Researchers worked with a rabbi and a cardiologist to test "Celestial Drops," promoted as a canker inhibitor because of its "improved fractal design," "infinite levels of order" and "high energy and low entropy." But the cure proved useless against canker. That's because it was water -- possibly, mystically blessed water....read on

What A Bush Selection of Gonzales Would Mean

GOP Tries To Rewrite The Nuclear Option Agreement

Steve has a great piece on the thiis: "Today, the GOP gave clear indications that they will interpret any filibuster attempt by Democrats against a far-right pick to be a violation of the nuclear option deal." read on..

Also :

Bush has already put the word out to his American Taliban base that his friendship with Gonzales counts for more than pleasing them. In this piece last night from USA Today, Bush scolded his conservative base for attacking Gonzales, which raises the possibility that despite the rhetoric about not making his mind up, Bush may already have done so, and may also be telling his base that despite the work they did in getting him reelected, their concerns are secondary when he is faced with the opportunity of installing a friend on the highest court in the land....read on

Santorum: Keep the mom at home

Captial Buzz has some excerpts of little Ricki's new book. I say this man is really an embarrassment to the Italian heritage. Didn't President Bush say during his debates that more education is needed to help the poor?

Chin Up, Liberals – The Fourth Is Our Day

The Yellow Dog Blog: I think it's very possible for those of us on the left to feel a bit empty and cheated on the Fourth of July. We oppose so much of how our government conducts its business now and, by extension, that can leave us feeling disappointed and alienated from our sense of belonging and national pride. But that need not be the case. read on
