Bad Week in Hannity's World

Jury Acquits Clinton Aide/Bad Week in Hannity's World

A loss for the Justice Department. A jury has found David Rosen, HillaryClinton's chief fundraiser, not guilty of campaign finance violations. Jeralyn has more here.

Sean is having a bad week. He lost the nuclear option, Bolton's still not confirmed, David Rosen was found innocent, and Hilliary Clinton is liked pretty well in a new poll. Hannity was wringing his hands with glee tossing out statements like (paraphrasing). " Just because she wasn't charged doesn't mean she's not guilty, " or " Not that we know of." They had their convicted felon, Mr. Paul lined up in waiting. Here's a list of questions Sean has on his website for Hillary. Attaturk has a nice little roundup about this. I guess Sean's happy for the holiday.

(Update:) The Tattered Coat says: Sean Hannity's great adventure:Is spending a day at an amusement park, surrounded by whining kids, dirty diapers, and half-eaten ice-cream cones your idea of hell? Well, how about spending a day at an amusement part listening to the musical stylings of LeAnn Rymes as Sean Hannity, Oliver North, Ann Coulter, Zell Miller, and Rick Santorum sing along? read on

Thune Opposing Bolton as BRAC Payback

Thune Opposing Bolton as BRAC Payback

via Outside the Beltway

Senator John Thune, who promised during his campaign against then-Minority Leader Tom Daschle that electing him would save Ellsworth Air Force Base, is opposing John Bolton's nomination as UN Ambassador in a bizarre protest against that base's inclusion on the BRAC list.

Thune now says he'll oppose Bolton for U.N. (AP)

As James Joyner says, this is surprising to have a junior senator bucking the administration's man. I wish his protest though was founded on the idea that Bolton is a terrible choice to go to the UN instead of a power play.

The Culture of Life Pledge

I hereby certify that neither I, nor any member of my family, including but not limited to: children, grandchildren, cats, dogs, etc. and any "after acquired" family will never, ever, under any circumstances (even with my fingers crossed) take or ingest any form of drug treatment or medical breakthroughs that are in any way associated with or connected to Stem Cell research. I am morally opposed to this type of medical malfeasance that our lord and Savior and Dr. Dobson most assuredly rebuke. I declare that I am of sound mind and body (as so it is hence with respect to the aforementioned family members) as we execute this irrevocable document and thusly said, this document shall not be challenged in a court of law. This is so despite the fact that I or said parties, would either now or in the future, be the beneficial recipient of such a repugnant life enhancing treatment . Only the Devil's greatest tool, i.e. "temptation" could lead us into sinful thoughts of partaking of this reprehensible policy.

How the Mighty Are Falling

How the Mighty Are Falling

Jason Miller wrote this incredible piece for C&L today:

Somebody tell Karl Rove to drop the applause sign. The minions he manipulates are cheering for an America that does not exist. That abstract concept of America, and its embodiment of liberties and human rights, is a fiction. Norman Rockwell's portrayal of America was an idealistic perversion of a landscape, which for many, has been littered with oppression, bigotry, greed, torture and even murder. Goya's brutal painting "Duel with Cudgels" comes closer to capturing the essence of the underlying mean-spiritedness of that is very much a component of this nation.

Bush, his Neocons, and the obscenely wealthy Oligarchs, who finance Republicans and Democrats alike, embody the face of America which is seldom portrayed by our flag-waving mainstream media. Yes, there is a dark, brutish aspect to this self-proclaimed beacon of freedom and liberty, and I am going to delve into it. Read on if you dare to take an introspective look at the darker aspects of our national identity....please read on

Randall Terry for President

He's baaaack.

As WOC notes Terry then couldn't pay his child support:"The past two years have been difficult financially for me.... I am three months behind in my rent, in addition to my numerous other debts. Since June, in order to pay necessities, we have been selling many items...."

I wonder if Sean Hannity will be his campaign manager?
You can also catch Randall Terry on the radio: After a three year sabbatical, like the aging of a fine wine, Randall Terry is back with depth, humor, comedy bits, and energy that is sure to make him one of the top contenders in the realm of talk radio.

C&L takes the culture of life pledge

C&L takes the culture of life pledge

Check out my new post at Jesus General: "That god-fearing patriot from Crooks and Liars has come up with a living will for stem cell research. I hope it catches on. Greater love hath no man than he lay down the life of his family for that of a gooey collection of protoplasm."

Stem Cell Research Living Will

In the episode, police are frustrated by a lack of clues, leading one officer to quip, "Maybe we should put out an APB (all-points-bulletin) for somebody in a Tom DeLay T-shirt."

In a letter to NBC Universal Television Group President Jeff Zucker, DeLay wrote: "This manipulation of my name and trivialization of the sensitive issue of judicial security represents a reckless disregard for the suffering initiated by recent tragedies and a great disservice to public discourse."...read on

Producer Dick Wolf, creator of the "Law & Order" franchise, took a swipe at DeLay in his own statement on Thursday, saying, "I ... congratulate Congressman DeLay for switching the spotlight from his own problems to an episode of a TV show."

You know things must be really getting to the Hammer when an obscure line of dialogue irks Tom this way. He probably must have read Jonah's Ode to L&O too.
