It's Taser Tuesday

We start with a follow up on a disturbing story from last week. A deputy with an itchy trigger finger answering a domestic disturbance call showed up at the wrong house and tasered an Iraq War Marine in the chest with his 50 thousand volt stun gun.

The Marine filed an internal report and before investigation could begin, the deputy resigned.

Clinton Blasts Finkelstein

A picture named Clinton1.jpg

via AmericaBlog

The NY Daily News has the story. It's actually vintage Clinton...and probably a very accurate analysis of Arthur Finkelstein:

"... He went to Massachusetts and married his longtime male partner and then he comes back here and announces this," Clinton said at a Harlem news conference.

"I thought, one of two things. Either this guy believes his party is not serious, and is totally Machiavellian in his position, or there's some sort of self-loathing there. I was more sad for him."

Video-WMP

Sounds accurate to me. Finkelstein helped elect Jesse Helms over and over. Something doesn't add up. This was his quote about his nuptials in Saturday's New York Times:

"I believe that visitation rights, health care benefits and other human relationship contracts that are taken for granted by all married people should be available to partners," he said.

See, Arthur, the problem here is that the people you work to elect don't believe in visitation rights, health care benefits and the other human relationship contracts for gay couples. They don't think of your relationship as human or normal. They hate you.

Update-John Aravosis takes a shot at Clinton.

Alexander Hamilton

The Rude One gives em' a History Lesson:

Alexander Hamilton wrote in Federalist 78 that the judiciary 'will always be the least dangerous' branch of government because it has the least capacity to 'annoy or injure' our constitutional rights." Actually, Hamilton said that it was the "least dangerous" because it can't summon the military or write laws. But knowing that would require reading past the first couple of lines of the document...read on

As always Rude...but true.

Al Sharpton under investigation

The FBI, as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into the Rev. Al Sharpton, secretly videotaped him pocketing campaign donations from two shady fund-raisers in a New York City hotel room and then asking for more, it was reported yesterday. One of the donors was later recorded on a wiretap saying Sharpton may not have reported to the Federal Election Commission tens of thousands of dollars in campaign cash, as is required by the law, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer....read on

Update: Sharpton came out firing on O'Reilly tonight. Denying the story and saying that he received only checks and that it had been investigated already. More will be revealed...

The Paris Hilton Benefit Act

via Ezra Klein:

EJ Dionne's firing on all cylinders today with a blistering column on the Paris Hilton Benefit Act, otherwise known as the estate tax...read on

Dionne argues for explicitly tying the tax to the Social Security shortfall. According to the CBO, even a reduced estate tax would cover fully 1/2 of the program's deficit, which means Republicans are going to have to decide between protecting Paris Hilton's inheritance and paying Grandma Millie's Social Security check. Democrats should be all over that choice, making sure it's made as publicly as possible. Go git' em.

Rush Limbaugh

Email: "Apparently, Mr. Limbaugh said "blow job" on his show today."

I'm trying to figure out if it was about Clinton or Kagan.
