C&L's Late Nite Music Club With Aphex Twin

Aphex Twin is the moniker of Richard D. James, an Irish-born electronic musician from England. He's known for his wide array of experimental works, with this one being no exception.

Aphex Twin is the moniker of Richard D. James, an Irish-born electronic musician from England. He's known for his wide array of experimental works, with this one being no exception. What sounds like a simple, yet elegant piano piece, is actually quite complex and actually impossible for a human to play on a single piano. Many of the voicings in the harmony cross over one another and span a range that is too far for human hands to reach. The recording of this piece was accomplished by running MIDI sequencers through a Yamaha Disklavier, an electronic successor to the player piano. Pretty experimental stuff if you ask me; people can't even play it!

Listening to anything experimental tonight?
