Clutch is from Maryland; where that beard is from, however, is a different story. These guys have been around since the early 90s and have been going strong ever since. They tour constantly and even released their tenth album, Earth Rocker, earlier this year. If I had to describe Clutch in one word, it would be "tenacious", as it not only defines their work ethic, but also their sound. From what you can hear in this song, they seem like a pretty loud band. Even though the idea of "loudness" has become a subject of tastelessness in the music industry since the "loudness wars" of the 1990s, Clutch turns it into an art form. This is because their loudness does not come in the form of amplitude, but instead the intensity with which they perform.
