'Independent' BillO Calls Cher A 'Pinhead'

I don’t understand.” If you’re poor, if you’re any kind of minority – gay, black, Latino, anything. If you’re not a rich – I don’t know. If you’re not a rich born-again-Christian, I don’t get it.”
Bill said that “we like Cher” because she does good things and “she seems like a nice person.” Bill snickered while he “broke it gently” to Cher that “there are good people in both parties who love their country like you do. Don’t be a pinhead. Be independent, LIKE ME.” (Cue the blurting of the coffee on the TV!). Course Bill edited the video so Cher’s preceding sentence was cut: “You know what? I have so – I try to be charitable and there are some really good Republicans..” So who is really the “pinhead” here?

However, there is good reason for sites like C&L to keep pointing out the tricks (like very selective editing) O'Reilly relies on to make his point. Permeating as much of the media as possible with evidence of Fox deceit is an essential tool to winning hearts and minds (by educating the public).

As for him being an "Independent"...I'm calling Bulls**t!!! He still has an obsession with Bush/Cheney. Anyone who was critcal of these two war mongers BillO simply labled "Bush haters" ...which is funny because you have to know the majority of the two and a half million viewers who tune in to his show only want to "get off" seeing O'Reilly yell at someone.

What O'Reilly has done is to emulate the strategy of Ann Coulter's hero, former Senator Joseph McCarthy, by employing the methods of that demagogue. McCarthy's use of throwing around false allegations against innocent people in the hope that a tiny amount of it may stick [even though not one person accused by McCarthy of being a communist in the State Department in the early 1950s was ever convicted of that charge] is alive and well in the tainted personage of Bill O'Reilly. Yet O'Reilly has succeeded, like McCarthy, in manipulating the emotions of people who are so willing to believe the worst of what is being said by whose who are in positions of power.

That is exactly what came to mind when I saw this! If Sonny always had Republican leanings, it shows that not only can she respect Republicans, she can even love them, regardless of whether or not she can understand why they'd want to be Republicans in the first place. Billo needs to just stuff it already.
