The Impolitic: Arizona US Attorney fired for failed porn case? Overlooked amidst all the controversy, former US attorney in Los Angeles Debra Wong Yang, who says she departed the US Attorney job of her own volition, and who until recently headed the office in charge of the investigation of former House appropriations committee chairman Jerry Lewis (R-Ca), reportedly got a $1.5 million offer to join the firm representing Lewis.

NPR Check: It's good that NPR reported on the death of a key witness/survivor of the 1981 El Mozote massacre in El Salvador. It's disgraceful that they ignored the most significant reasons why the story remains timely and relevant

Ralph Reed is Outta Here!

Jesse:

It's over. "We're very proud of the race that we ran. It was a very positive campaign about the issues," Reed told his supporters. "Tonight, my candidacy for lieutenant governor comes to an end."

So the saga ends. Congressmen such as Reps. John Doolittle, Richard Pombo, Jerry Lewis, Bob Ney, and Charles Taylor should take note... Tom DeLay should run again.

It couldn't happen to a nicer guy. It's nice to see these phonies hiding behind religion being ousted.

Rep. Jerry Lewis under fire

Georgia10 reminds me:

MSNBC:

"You may not have heard of him, but Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-Calif., is one of the most powerful members of Congress, chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, which controls hundreds of billions of dollars."

Lisa Myers: You were allowed to write language for an appropriations bill yourself?

Casey: Yes, I did. That was Congressman Lewis' suggestion.

Casey says Lewis repeatedly urged him to hire a lobbyist, former U.S. Rep. Bill Lowery, Lewis' close friend, and when that didn't happen, pressed for another favor.

Casey: Congressman Lewis asked me to set up stock options for Bill Lowery in our company.

Today, the Washington Post reports on more possible corruption.
