Joe Lieberman is taking a page out of Dick Cheney's playbook and carefully connected al-Qaeda to Iran with an answer he gave to Nora O'Donnell on MSNBC moments ago. Much has been made of McCain's foreign policy gaffe on his middle east tour when he said that Shia/Iran was training the Sunni/al-Qaeda. Lieberman had to whisper the correct answer in his ear at that time to correct that fallacy. However, we can see a clear pattern of deception the Senator from CT is using to try and once again confuse the American public about the nonexistent ties between al-Qaeda and Iran.

Liebermann: ...we can do it on conditions on the ground, but if we just pull out there will be chaos, maybe genocide and al-Qaeda and Iran will win.

Al-Qaeda is a very small percentage of the resistance that is on going in Iraq as we all know. Why hasn't Holy Joe addressed the ethnic cleansing that has already occurred in Iraq between the Sunni and Shia's militias in Baghdad alone? Joe can't do that and admit the horror that he has enabled already. His only hope is to confuse the public into thinking that al-Qaeda is aligned with Iran. Have you no decency, sir?

Deguerin: Don't we all have friends like Jack?

Deguerin: Don't we all have friends like Jack?

A day of Delay: The retrospective. Originally posted on 01/03/06

Deguerin was on "The Abrams Report," to discuss Tom Delay's relationship with Jack Abramoff. He was steadfast in telling us that although Jack was a crook to the worst degree, good old Tom stood by his friends. Wouldn't you?

Dan listed all the quality time Tom spent with Jack and asked:

Abrams:...are you concerned?

Deguerin : There's no question that they are friends and Tom Delay's not the kind of person that's going to turn his back on a friend that's in trouble---Tom Delay is not going to abandon Jack Abramoff just because Abramoff has done some illegal things...

Just a few, tiny illegal things. Dick is hoping that Jack will tell the truth about Tom, but Delay is going to stand by his man no matter what. Nora O'Donnell did a good job to try and force Deguerin into admitting that Delay has met with the justice department over Jack.

O'Donnel: So Delay has spoken with members of the justice department in the public integrity section?

It was then that Dick caught a case of the Judy Miller, "I can't recall disease."

Deguerin : No, I'm not sure about that...

What does Steno Sue have to say now? Atrios busted her reporting on the couple:"DeLay, a Christian conservative, did not quite know what to make of Abramoff, who wore a beard and a yarmulke. They forged political ties, but the two men never became personally close, according to associates of both men."

Nora O'Donnell did a good job to try and force Deguerin into admitting that Delay has met with the justice department over Jack.

He just got done telling Dan that Delay spent most of his waking hours either on a golf trip, or a resort with Tom, but couldn't remember a little thing like that. Degurein is Delay's lifeboat at this time and you and I know that Dick can tell you how many times Delay has listened to "If I had a Hammer," but suddenly can't recall if Tom met with yet more people involved in deep investigations.

Norah O'Donnell: Are you a Republican?

In her interview yesterday with Gary Berntsen, the author of “Jawbreaker," Nora was grilling him about his book and the facts he presented which she should do-when O'Donnell entered into the realm of the bizzare.

O'DONNELL: So, Gary, you say that you knew where Osama bin Laden was and the president says he was in a cave with a door on it.

BERNTSEN: Well, let me say this. We tracked bin Laden with our reporting from Kabul, down to Nangarhar Province, into Jalalbad, down into the mountains. We had a steady stream. But, you know, every once in a while you get a report that says he's off, you know, in left field.

Here at this place or that place, but when you get a line of reporting, a stream of it, and we're marking it on a map, we can see consistently, you know, which way he's moving and from multiple sources. And then, of course, we were listening to his voice on an unencrypted radio.

O'DONNELL: Can I ask you, Gary, are you a Democrat?

BERNTSEN: No, I'm a Republican. And I'm a loyal supporter of the president and I think the president is doing a good job in the fight on terrorism.

I know she's the guest host and I've received emails from readers who say they like the job she has been doing, but the question, "are you a Democrat," frames the issue that if a Democrat questions anything about this administration-you can't trust it. I'm not saying she is a liberal or a republican, or a terrible reporter either, I'm just responding to this particular segment.

AmericaBlog has the same take as well...

Maybe Kathleen Parker is right. They should ignore us.

Christopher Dickey: Murtha is Right

Christopher Dickey: Murtha is Right
If C&L were here of course, he would put up the video of Murtha putting Nora O'Donnell in her place -- and it was quite beautiful, you can see it here. I'm not the hawk that Murtha is, but that is a discussion for another day. The fact is he is right and what is more, most all of us, right and left know it. Those who say otherwise are either still practicing the "Tinkerbell" policy of clapping louder; or more concerned about the Republican fortunes (the spectator sport nature of politics) than they are the "troops" they claim to love. If more the GOP came around to Chuck Hegel's thinking, not too far off from Murtha's, they could cut their losses and take their hit now and hope to recover some by 2006. Of course they won't. Bush's inability to ever admit, let alone contemplate, error is going to sink them all. Christoper Dickey knows it and details why Murtha is right, but Bush will never admit it, in Newsweek. Where Was Cheney?

Nora Ephron is wondering too.

Jeralyn has her own theories. Could it be that Cheney is feed up with "El Presidente" and is letting him swing in the wind? Explains a lot doesn't it?

Ken Mehlman: Talking Point Action Figure

A picture named Mehlman-Hardball.jpg

Ken was on Hardball yesterday 8/18 and was his usual robotic, repetitive self. I'm waiting for his left hand to karate chop the cameraman one of these days. Has he been watching the polls lately? The American people are not supporting this war or feel that Bush is even trustworthy. Nora O'Donnell made for the perfect foil with her Barbie Doll looks and that super, secret, serious voice.

Ken the "talking Point" action figure also used WWII as a benchmark. Was Iraq trying to take over the world? Did I miss that? He plays the 9/11 card too. Ken brought all his bells and whistles with him...

PUKE

Mark Williams appeared on Hard Ball today and was about as obnoxious a ---- as I've seen. He-well I can't call it a debate because he filibustered the whole segment, so much so that Nora lost control of the segment. Coleen Rawley was on to talk about Cindy Sheehan and his idiotic "You don't speak for me, Cindy!" tour but he quickly sunk to the lower depths of vitriolic speech.

I knew that when these right wingers went over to Iraq they would come back and thump their chests like they are experts now.'

Here's a little bit of the debate thanks to Bob at Yellow Dog:

O'Donnell: "Mark, if you don't mind, you're making the case that Cindy Sheehan is hurting the morale of our troops?"

Williams: "She is aiding and abetting the enemies of this country and the people who killed her son. And right now Casey Sheehan is spinning in his grave!"

I'll be back with more soon. I have to take a shower.

MSNBC: majority of Americans "extremists"

Kos wants to know why Nora O'Donell thinks 54 percent of the American people are extremist.

If you haven't seen the video already, it's here. AmericaBlog has: "Meeting briefly with reporters Monday aboard Air Force One, Trent Duffy, a White House spokesman subbing for Scott McClellan, said that President Bush believes that those who want the U.S. to begin to change course in Iraq do not want America to win the overall "war on terror."
