You have to wonder just what level of moral and ethical depravity you have to reach to be a Fox News talker these days.

Col. Ralph Peters -- who doesn't exactly have a track record for probity to begin with -- went on Neil Cavuto and offered a solution to dealing with terrorists at Guantanamo Bay -- just kill them all:

Peters: Neil, I've gotta tell you where I'm coming from. I come from Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, the anthracite coal fields. We don't screw around with terrorists.

[Oh, yeah -- that Schuylkill County: Where redneck juries let minority-bashing thugs off scot-free. In other, they don't screw around with white terrorists -- they just let 'em go. OK, good to know.]

Peters: First of all, I am not concerned about the human and legal rights of terrorists. Because as far as I am concerned, when a human being chooses to commit an act of terror against innocent human beings, he puts himself outside of humanity. And this obsession with the legal -- supposed legal and human rights of terrorists -- a small number -- condemns billions of human beings, billions, to live in fear.

And again, Neil, once you commit an act of terror, in my book, you are outside, you are anathema, and you should be killed.

Now, I'm not talking about killing every living thing in the barnyard. But for example, when we attack an Al Qaeda compound, and the people defending the Al Qaeda compound can -- and they're shooting at us, that's probably a pretty good indicator that they are terrorists. So I see no reason to bring them to the United States, no reason to bring them to Guantanamo. There are a small number of senior terrorists who have intelligence value. Them we should take prisoner, but we should do the interrogations in foreign countries -- and why set ourselves up for legal problems?

Now Neil, I know it's not politically correct. I don't care. I care about the security and well-being of my fellow Americans. I care about the human rights of innocent people around the world. And as far as I'm concerned, terrorists should die.

And a good thing that's happening now -- as soon as you had this movement to close Guantanamo, et cetera et cetera, the word I'm getting from the field is our special operators and our soldiers and Marines on the front lines are taking fewer prisoners.

Cavuto: All right, so in other words, they're killing them.

Peters: Yep.

Introducing Wrong-Way McCain

Wrong Way McCain  This week, Americans were introduced to Wrong-Way McCain. To be sure, it's the same John McCain ("McSame") who would continue the policies of George W. Bush that 80% of Americans believe have put the country on the wrong track. It's also the same "Jukebox John" who has changed his tune 61 times on issues foreign and domestic, including a dizzying 10 times in two weeks back in June. But as he showed repeatedly over the past several days, Wrong-Way McCain is also the Republican presidential nominee who simply can't keep his stories straight.

Whether the result of crass political opportunism, transparent deceit or just plain confusion, on at least 7 occasions this week alone, Wrong Way McCain couldn't remember what he stood for, if anything at all.

The Malkin effect on full display in Rhode Island. It's not enough to hate illegal immigrants anymore--you must despise anyone who dares speak Spanish in public too. A Ross Perot loving---anti-Hispanic bigot got grumpy because two Latino customers didn't know exactly what equipment they wanted---thought it was a hassle to help them---heard them speak Spanish---then demanded proof of citizenship for one of them before he would sell the items. He even threatened to call ICE and arrest them himself. And both people are US citizens. Of course there is outrage in the community.

Richardson:....Neil, I've been very interested in illegal immigration for three years. Back in 1992 I came off my couch, Ross Perot brought me off my couch and I've been active in the reform party--- Terry's organization "Rhode Islanders for illegal enforcement," and the enforcement being the important part. So when I see a customer quite often comes into my store, sometimes they don't speak good English, ahhh---in this case we'll go to the facts. That one spoke English and one did not speak English. I got their parts, it was quite a job getting their parts because they weren't sure what they wanted. I guess it was the fellow that didn't speak English, seemed to be the mechanic part of it and the other fellow must have been the homeowner, I don't know what he was...

Cavuto: At what point did you just say I want to see your Social Security card?

Richardson: OK, so we finished the situation, I was writing it up and I casually said, "I'd like to see this gentleman's Social Security card. And that got the English speaking person all up tight and the other fellow...

How dare they speak Spanish in his store and how dare they get "up tight" because of a little racism. "I don't know what he was." Maybe he was a human being?

The Providence Journal:

All José Genao planned to do at the heating equipment supply store was buy a spare part for his boiler. While the owner began searching for the part, Genao and his friend began speaking to each other in Spanish. As owner David C. Richardson was ringing up Genao’s $18 purchase, he demanded to see their Social Security cards.

Ann Coulter Says She's Not Kidding

On YourWorld with Neil Cavuto yesterday, Ann Coulter continued to insist that she will support--and in fact, campaign for--Hillary Clinton, rather than hold her nose and support the ideologically impure John McCain.

I just find Coulter's hissy fit schadenfreude-licious, as I do Sean Hannity's and Rush Limbaugh's. The punditocracy is losing whatever is left of their sanity that John "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" McCain could actually be the Republican nominee. Know why? Because it means that their base has tuned them out, turned them off and voted as they see fit, not as they've been told. By them. Any bigger indicator of the fact that their base is finding them irrelevant?

Oh and as a little aside, woman to....er, woman, the Goth make-up does you no favors, Ann. It might have worked in your early 20s (but not with that "Aryan from Darien" Connecticut accent), but now, not so much. Good to see you found something other than the black cocktail dress to wear, though. I'd call that progress, but I know how that word scares you.

Ben Stein's Delusional Defense Of Senator Larry Craig

cavuto-stein-craig.jpg Former Nixon advisor, actor, TV game show host and comedian, Ben Stein appeared with FOXNews' Neil Cavuto and makes what is probably the most misguided, fact-free and delusional defense of Larry Craig we've found since the scandal broke earlier this week. Stein says Craig was railroaded, and that all he did was tap his foot. He repeatedly accuses the Minneapolis Police Department of using Gestapo tactics and aiding terrorists because they should be scouring the airport looking for terrorists, fervently states that gay sex isn't illegal because the SCOTUS says so and then claims the Executive Branch may have been involved in bringing Craig down to change the balance of power in D.C. WTF?

Oh the things you learn from Ann Coulter!

Yeah I have to admit that my own personal blog is a declared "Coulter-free zone" but since this blog is called "Crooks and LIARS" it would be completely remiss to ban her here. This is classic. Here's just a few snippets of knowledge that you can learn from the "Scandal" writer, here "interviewed" by Neil Cavuto:1. Karl Rove is not to blame for ALL the stupid stuff Bush did.

2. QUOTE: "George Bush DID know how to tie his shoes and eat before Karl Rove--I'm sure they'll keep talking."

3. There are "three monumental disasters" of the Bush Administration. Harriet Miers is one but the Iraq War isn't.

tds-bush-cavuto.jpg In a rare (rare=four times) interview with FOX Opinion Channel's Neil Cavuto, President Bush explains "in other words" what 70% of Americans can't seem to understand -- namely, every aspect of his presidency.

Countdown-WPITW-BillOlesbians Friday night's Worst Person In The World honors go to Neil Cavuto, BillO and...BillO. Mr.Orally won the Silver for getting his radio show yanked from the Washington D.C. airwaves to make way for a sports talk show, but he takes the Gold for his report on a "national underground network of lesbian gangs carrying pink pistols" who are terrorizing and raping young girls and forcing them into lesbianism. A guest on his show stated that there are some 150 of these lesbian gangs in the D.C. area, which of course turned out to be false.

I like to have a little fun with screen caps, but Keith rarely gives me the opportunity to catch him...until tonight. Keith got really worked up over the fact that O'Reilly's show was replaced by sports talk show host, Jim Rome. Just a little harmless fun, eh Keith? :)

Universal Healthcare: Terrorist Recruitment Tool

jerry-bowyer-nro.jpg It's one of those bang-your-head-against-the-keyboard moments when you have to type a headline that is so manifestly idiotic. But that was seriously the framing of a recent news item on Fox News' "Your World with Neil Cavuto".

icon Download | play icon Download | play

Not content with your basic fear mongering of Muslims with respect to the latest rather lame "terrorist" attempt in England, Neil and his guest, NRO's Jerry Bowyer (whose expertise in matters medical, be it in the UK or here or in terrorism is never actually established), come to the same conclusion that a national healthcare program creates a bureaucracy and need for foreign doctors that Al Qaeda is only too happy to take advantage of.

John Amato: And what's with the hair and beard combo?

"I want more babies. More babies. We love babies."

Fox News' Neal Cavuto couldn't pass up the chance to host a fair and balanced discussion of the news that the FDA has recently approved the oral contraceptive Lybrel for use.  Of course, in FoxWorld, "balance" means to pit a reasonable, fact-based representative of reproductive information and choice with a rapidly decompensating loony.

Now while the differentiating point of Lybrel is that women will no longer have any appearance of menstruation (because scientists will tell you that women don't have true menstruation while using birth control pills and any woman can tell you that 'the pill' has been used to suppress or otherwise manipulate menstruation for only oh...decades), I've watched the video several times and it appears that any and all birth control is an unacceptable choice for Leslee Unruh, which should not be surprising, considering her career.  Obviously, that makes her a perfect person to discuss birth control options for Neal Cavuto and his producers.  Poor NARAL spokesperson Mary Alice Carr, who could not disguise her own discomfort at being forced to share air time with someone whose best argument is that Big Pharma is playing God.
Big Pharma, here we go again, attack on children and families and on women. I want more babies. More babies. We love babies.
Um, yeah.  Anyone else think that Neal Cavuto going directly to this pill allowing 12 and 13 year olds to have lots of sex without consequences a little creepy?

Pandagon has more ...

c-eastwood.jpg Clint was at Pebble Beach with Neil Cavuto and spent some time talking about his films, Iraq and George Bush. Cavuto kept prodding Clint in that swarmy style he has about the big, bad "Hollywood liberal" theme, but Clint gently steered him away from it.

Eastwood on Bush:...(H)e genuinely believes--I just don't happen to believe with him--on making...converting people to a democracy overnight or even in a ten year period. I just think that's a little bit naive to approach it that way...

Remember when Million Dollar Baby came out and the Michael Medveds of the world attacked it because of the euthanasia aspect of the film? Eastwood replied that there was no agenda, other than to tell a good story and make you think. Cavuto only wanted to keep pushing Eastwood to defend scenes which didn't relect the FoxNews conservative/jingoistic viewpoint of the world and Eastwood easily brushed them aside.

Virgil Goode takes the "Fox News" stand. Issues no Apology

virgilgoode.jpg The vile Virgil Goode took the witness stand on FOX News  Thursday to try and defend himself from his own bigoted comments. And FOX News is the place to go for disgraced Republicans as we know. They feel safe there for some unexplained reason. David Asman, (subbing for Bush puppet Neil Cavuto) does his best to soften Goode's disgraceful remarks against Rep. Ellison, but he's never challenged on his most odious remarks.

Goode should be called to the carpet by all Democrats and asked to apologise and or resign for his hate filled screeds. This public display of racism tarnishes everything America stands for.

goode-muslims.jpg This clip includes Rahm Emanuel's comments on the matter. Goode tries to say that Rahm misinterprets his letter. Ummm...This letter is indefensible. You sir---are a fool.

The Suck

paulkrugman.jpgcavuto.jpg Paul Krugman joined Bush apologist Neal Cavuto Tuesday to debate our economy. Forget about the debate. Listening to Cavuto say the word "suck" was pretty hilarious. Talking heads always have an advantage against thinkers who rarely do TV appearances so Cavuto is used to talking over people.

Cavuto: What I'm saying is aren't you being disingenuous---coming out with an article that states as fact: Things Suck. When we've had a lot of things to cause things to start sucking...

Video-WMP Video-QT

Cavuto was giving Krugman cheap compliments so he could call him a liar. That's pretty disingenuous coming from a guy that said Bush's social security plan died because of Michael Jackson:

Cavuto: He’s had a tough sell. I tried to relate that the intense coverage of the Michael Jackson trial was being a bit of a distraction for him.

Transcript by Think Progress:

CAVUTO: Here’s what I’m saying that you’re doing: You are lying to people. That’s what I think that you’re doing.

KRUGMAN: I haven’t heard a lie yet. But, look, if that’s the way you want to do it, I mean, fair and balanced, go all the way. Look, c’mon, the fact of the matter is–

CAVUTO: No, no, you don’t have to be snide. You have to be factual.

KRUGMAN: You’re being snide.

Wesley Clark on the Prez on FOX

Atrios has the video...

Cavuto tried to give him the "we're fighting them over there" routine, but the General would have none of it.

The attack on 9/11 occurred on the president's watch. He took us into a war with Iraq we didn't have to fight. It's been used to incentivize recruiting in Al Qaeda. The number of people who are affiliated with Al Qaeda worldwide has more than doubled since 2001. Our armed forces are bogged down in Iraq. We haven't been able to effectively engage with North Korea. We're hearing the tom toms beating for war with Iran. I think the American people can judge. This administration's policy has been a mistake and he's not made us safer. He's left us more vulnerable.

Go and see Cavuto's hair go on fire...

Neil Cavuto Calls in the "Experts" on Katrina

YW-Neil Cavuto-Don-King-Katrina_0001.jpg

On Your World yesterday, Neil Cavuto decided to turn to some "experts" for their views on Katrina yesterday. One of those "experts" was Don King.

Video - WMV   Video - QT

Don King said Bush is "one of our greatest Presidents ever". Of course King has a track record of cheerleading for the Republican party. True when you consider Don Kings questionable past, it should be no shock that he aligns his beliefs with those of the Republican Party.
