Liberal Oasis : All of us committed to saving our judiciary from corporate stooges and fringe fundamentalists should look at Thursday’s LA Times profile of Priscilla Owen, written by David Savage.

Because it shows how hard it is to get the facts out.

The wet kiss headline is “Judge Seen as Conservative, Fair”.

And it just gets worse from there.

Savage uses the GOP talking points early in the piece, telling his readers that Owen “comes across as a mainstream conservative.”

He quotes a total of four people that he interviewed. All the quotes are pro-Owen. Read on...

A killer is directed to contact the nationally aired “Michael Savage Radio Show” to get a telephone number to up delivery of the bounty.

Of course whenever one mentions hate radio, Michael (Weiner) Savages's name usually comes up. I fear with the discourse against judges so over-the-top lately (here's an article on Weiner's home page Judicial Murder, Written by Nat Hentoff ), there will be many more Meywes's popping up that just might go a little further than just sending hate emails.

I see Nat Hentoff and Jesse Jackson have joined the feed-Terri forces, which already included Ralph Nader, Randall Terry, Rush Limbaugh, Bo Gritz, Sean Hannity, and James Dobson. Now if we can just get Alexander Cockburn and Al Sharpton to join in, we'll have a left-right coalition embodying the very cream of the nation's loudmouth dimwitted self-promoting busybodies.

Note to Hentoff: "brain dead" means "dead." No one thinks that Terri Schiavo is "brain dead." The fact that William Frist can tell if someone is brain dead gives him no qualification to judge whether Terri Schiavo has permanently lost all cognitive function, even if he had in fact either examined her or viewed her medical records.
