Someday an actual person is going call Donohue out on his insane rantings on MSNBC or wherever he shows up on 24/7. He's a complete embarrassment to anyone Catholic. Just because you're from a group called the Catholic League doesn't mean you speak for them.

William Donohue is one of the leaders of the Catholic League and a happy partner with none other than Snappy O'Berine, (They are made for each other) but really he's known for his outrageously idiotic tirades against Hollywood and liberals on the talking head shows.

This guy is like James Dobson, Kate O'Berine, Tom Tancredo, Michael Ledeen and William Donohue all rolled into one.

I've talked to several insiders who have told me that Phil Donohue was canned because he was against the war and GE didn't want an anti-war voice on the air at the time. No, I'm not signing O'Reilly's petition to fire Olbermann and bring him back.

Olbermann: "There are people I know in the hierarchy of NBC, the company, and GE, the company, who do not like to see the current presidential administration criticized at all....read on"

Keith responds to O'Reilly's ludicrous letter to MSNBC asking them to replace Olbermann with Phil Donohue and signs the petition on-air.

Countdown plays a bunch of O'Reilly's greatest hits and his "worst person of the world" awards. MSNBC spoofs it for almost nine minutes as other employees line up to sign the petition-while Keith does his best Ted Baxter impersonation. (dave reminded me in the comments.)

Phil asks O'Reilly if his children would fight in the war and the meltdown ensues. Bill tells him that his nephew just joined and blows his top. O'Reilly threatens to boot Donohue off the set for saying absolutely nothing. The bloviator really lost it, playing the " you're denigrating him" card.

Bill, what did Phil say to denigrate him? Nothing. Donohue brought up Jeremy Glick.

Phil: I'm not Jeremy Glick, Billy...You can't intimidate me...

Growing up a Catholic, I can't imagine how this guy (William Donohue) became some sort of spokesman for the church.

Bill Donohue is launching an email campaign against Dennis Learys. "Merry F#%$in' Christmas," special which airs on Comedy Central. Here's the news release from the Catholic League and Donohue's rant.

I love Christmas and have no problem with humor directed at it, but apparently William is jumping on the John Gibson/Bill O'Reilly, "The Grinch that stole Christmas," theme. Email Doug Herzog, the president of Comedy Central, requesting that he not give in to pressure form groups like the Catholic League. They want to curtail free speech and cable programming.
