We're rounding out "Zappadan--the Frank Zappa blogswarm" this week, which began with the anniversary of Frank's death on December 4, and ends with his birthday on December 21. When it comes to Frank's music, I personally can see the point of The Onion, I just haven't heard the right album yet, man. But there is no substitute for FZ's sharp mind and no-nonsense political philosophy. One can only imagine what he would have to say to the current state of things. (He talks a bit about sex in this so no speakers at work. )

We don't usually do celebrity birthdays here at Crooks and Liars, but since "Zappa" has its own category at this blog, it's only fitting that we should wish a happy birthday to Frank Zappa's daughter, Moon Unit, who turns 40 this weekend.
From December 4 through 22, The Aristocrats will host, and a great many blogs will participate in, a celebration of the late Frank Zappa, in the annual blog event known as Zappadan.
This is a second interview Frank Zappa did on the now cancelled Cross Fire back in '87. He was arguing against the ridiculous censorship movement pioneered by the PMRC that was going on at that time. So many people loved the first debate I posted a long time ago.
