Former Waller County Jail Guard Admits Falsifying Sandra Bland Jail Records!
July 23, 2016

Shocking new revelations have come out today in the death of Sandra Bland, a woman who was found dead in her jail cell in a Waller County cell in July 2015 under suspicious circumstances.

Raw Story reports that earlier today a lawyer representing Sandra Bland’s mother says that a former jail guard has admitted under oath that he falsified prison logs.

Specifically, the guard states that he never checked on her an hour before her suspicious death, even though he wrote that he had in prison logs.

Cannon Lambert, the attorney representing Sandra Bland's mother, states:

“The jailer told him in the deposition he noted in the jail log he observed Bland in her cell at 8:01 a.m., less than an hour before she was found strangled by a noose made from a plastic trash bag. In fact, jailers never checked on Bland or about a dozen other inmates that hour.”

If this jailer lied on the log, what else were they covering up, I mean *lying* about? Could one of the staff (or more) have contributed to Sandra's death? How did she get a plastic bag in her cell if she was in jail clothes and had gone through a body search upon arrival? How did she get access to this item?

Not only was this woman arrested for a minor traffic violation and detained, but she was found dead under incredibly suspicious circumstances. Worst of all - a source came forward and states that even though the special prosecutors were told about the falsified logs, a grand jury didn't indict anyone. So either the special prosecutors didn't tell the grand jury, or they minimized the importance of this incredibly serious fact.

This type of egregious error, malicious and intentional, usually lead to termination and/or criminal charges, especially when they lead to injury or death of an inmate in custody.
