Robbie Fulks can flatpick like a demon and warble like an old pure country soul. There's a sneer and fire in both that makes it a lot more real than the plastic hicks heard on most country radio stations these days.

His debut album, Country Love Songs, was released in 1996 and still stands up as an example of how country music should be done in modern times but sadly isn't very much.
