Think about it, genius. The Treasury simply prints these things up, or even worse, clicks them off in an accounting ledger.
The only reason they have any value is because the government has the power to tax to pay them off.
If the economy goes into the crapper (it's already in it, just will go further) and the tax base decreases, who will pay them off.
There's no business behind these worthless securities. When they have to be paid, there won't be enough money (especially since there actually is no money; the're just worthless bits of fiat currency; instruments of debt).
