I had an entire semester in animation school devoted to studying Chaplin's films - the man was a genius. A lot of his stuff was so nuanced, you had to watch it a time or two, to really get it... You still see a ton of his influence present in modern day animated films (animators seem to be the only folks who still study his work).

He was hilarious on "Sunny in Philadelphia" as a crazed homeless ex- wrestler... and that fight scene from the above mentioned movie was legendary... as an entertainer, I really liked him. 61 is too damn young, for anyone...
