Again, you are making an assumption. I say the guy laid down a paper towel, placed the flag on the paper towel, took off his shoe, then stepped on the flag with his sock. The flag was completely unharmed and undirtied. My story is as factual as yours.
OTOH we wouldn't be happy with a teacher in our own schools who spent class time praising George Wallace or reviling politicians such as Obama or anyone else with whom he disagrees because of policies or race.

Uh, he put it on the FLOOR and STEPPED on it. I highly doubt there was any lasting damage to the 'flag' in question.
Also, it wasn't really a flag at all. It was a symbol representing the flag and, as others have pointed out, deserves no more protection than flag underwear does.
