You accuse me of being sanctimonious and proselytizing without acknowledging your own. You characterized Christians as good (non-coercive) versus bad (coercive) Christians without acknowledging the more fundamental truth - you don't share their belief system. You have found your own system that you find more "sensible". You go on to then "gently" make a case for Wicca/Paganism. If you weren't trying to coerce people into understanding and potentially accepting the validity of your belief system why bring it up at all?
As far as my "proselytizing", one cannot proselytize a non-belief system. There is a difference between sharing and promoting a belief system versus asking someone to defend why they believe something without evidence. And your last paragraph above seems to show you remain conflicted. The Earth/Nature's abilities ARE natural and evolutionary. No outside agents nor miracles are involved. I hope you will come to embrace that fully as the science advances.
This was the best recently. 3 parts.
I have only one question for Staves: How does your client feel about being behind bars, while gay people are enjoying their civil rights?
republicans have done much much more damage to America than ISIS could ever cause. Just think about it because of republicans we have a debt over 15 trillion dollars. It is way past time to put republicans out of government!
What fascinates is how people's ideology can lead them to see things that do not exist. In this case, a libertarian and a hard core conservative see absurdity, lawlessness or judicial tyranny in what the court did. It really does amount to the differences between how different ideologies lead believers to see opposite things as within the rule of law under the U.S. constitution.
If America could convert from subjective politics, e.g., liberal, conservative, capitalist, socialist, libertarian, Christian or whatever, to objective politics ( http://ivn.us/2015/08/21/opini... ) that elevates unspun fact, unbiased logic and service to an objectively defined public interest to core political values, these massive differences of opinion would be be reduced, maybe sometimes eliminated. Until then, blithering, unprincipled nonsense like this from Rand Paul or Ted Cruz will continue to pass for serious mainstream politics. Regime change is long overdue.
