Florida Governor Ron DeSantis continues his assault on education and issued a decree (yeah) which eliminates any program not agreeable to Christian nationalists.

Any mention of inclusivity, diversity, honest American history and real African-American studies will be eliminated.

DeSantis went on to call what doesn't fall in line with his Christian nationalist culture war agenda getting a degree in "zombie studies." The courses he likes are a "Core Curriculum" grounded in "Western civilization."

What a pig.

Dr. Carolynne Gischel, with the Florida Gulf Coast University Chapter of United Faculty of Florida and an assistant professor in FGCU's Department of Teacher Preparation Programs reacted to the governor's plans.

"It cannot be overstated how unsettling it is to learn Governor DeSantis believes concepts such as diversity, equity, and inclusion are divisive. In fact, if he knew the definition of inclusion, he would understand it is the opposite of divisive," Gischel said. "Governor DeSantis is fighting a battle of his own making, and he knows it. He’s pretending to solve urgent issues of 'ideological indoctrination,' but those issues exist only in his mind."

Local Today writes: That idea is college kryptonite.

Mark Roosevelt, president of St. John’s in Santa Fe. “It would be incredibly difficult to create a core curriculum today, and I don’t know of anyone trying to do that,” Roosevelt said.

DeSantis has already put on anti-civil rights activists that create false conspiracies demonizing racial justice advocates and attacking LGBTQ communities like Christopher Rufo to the board of trustees of the New College of Florida.

Apparently, scum-sucking weasel Christopher Rufo, who doesn't even live in Florida, knows best.
