Watch that you aren't interested in picking up litter or cleaning up your rubbled streets.

killing... the republican way of life. ironic eh?

Hummm, I guess beach cleanups just got a little more dangerous. So is this thing like a sting operation only skipping the part where they get a trial and all.

Ahmadinejad, said today that there are no homosexuals in Iran. He said they don't have the phenomenon there that we have here.

The guy, Bollinger, who introduced him and asked him questions was unbelievably rude and just down right ugly to the man he had invited to be his guest and speak to the college.

If you kill enough of them off, you will piss more of them off and prolong the occupation. That is why the Blackwater hired killers opened fire on the civilians last week. Bush wants to keep it going.

Every day there is more news of the incompetency under this administration. Here is another:

http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6209631.html?tag=nl.e550

It seems that the outside company contracted to protect Homeland Security computers is investigated for Criminal Fraud. They failed to correctly install network-intrusion devices and then to monitor them. 150 DHS computers were hacked by a Chinese web site between June and October 2006 and on top of everything else they lied about the network being properly protected to cover up their incompetence.

Blackwater is the jackboot of Bush fascism.

It's not just the Repubs...it is America. We are a pathetic culture on the edge of martial law and third world status. Gotta ask yourself what have you done today to help bring sanity to this land...besides blogging?

Those snipers are you and I in the eyes of the world. We are letting Blackwater, Depleted Uranium, the murder and rape of women and children happen to a country that had absolutly nothing to do with 9/11.

It wasn't about stealing the oil, it was about keeping it in the ground and artificially inflate the prices. The only chance we have is UNITY. We have to drop all our mixed causes and do one thing:
Join together and impeach the president and VP. If we don't make them pay the consequenses for their actions it will never stop. We will have yet another "Pearl Harbor" event after event.

After we get the NWO out of control we can go back to our issues, there is NO OTHER WAY...UNITY/Action/Freedom. Take the gloves off and come out punching. It is OUR RIGHT, it is in the constitution if anyone can find it.

ELG, I heard that too. I just shook my head. If they can't keep the computers safe at Homeland Security, how the hell can they keep our whole country safe. How can we believe a single word they say? Sounds like we have "heck of a job" Brownies all throughout our government.

Yeah, ummm... Stateside they've tried this kinda stuff, too (granted, it was usually intended to result in the arrest and conviction of a perpetrator, not a lead projectile instantaneously penetrating the skull at high velocity from a concealed position located some distance away). We call it "entrapment" and it is generally frowned upon in the criminal justice system:

"In jurisprudence, entrapment is a legal defense by which a defendant may argue that he or she should not be held criminally liable for actions which broke the law, because he/she was induced (or entrapped) by the police to commit those acts. For the defense to be successful, the defendant must demonstrate that the police induced an otherwise unwilling person to commit a crime."

Paddy @ 3:

New York legislators threaten Columbia University's public funding over Ahmadinejad,

God help us, the looneys have taken over everything.

I thought the President of Columbia University handled Ahmadinejad quite well, better than the President of the US ever could. A story very similar to yours is happening in Missouri. The University of MO has an excellent journalism school with a tv studio and refused to allow politicians to wear those little American flag pins in their lapels when they appeared on any shows. Now the Missouri legislature is canceling a $500,000 grant to the School of Journalism because of that.

All I got to say about any of this, is this much... All distrespecting from either side towards the other aside; IF Ahmadinejad doesn't think his nation has homosexuals.... Not a 'phenomenom' there Huh.. Just proves to me he's as delusional in his own way as is Bush in his.... And just as likely to be someone to be suspicious of is regards his other endeavors. If some might intone, well, their aren't gays there because they have all left or been killed off... Don't kid yourself. That closet can be pretty deep, especially in a society that villifies such a life.

My real problem isn't with the fact that this guy wants to come over here at this particular time, (still feels like he's just trying to poke sticks in eyes) or with the fact that between him and Bush, we have a nice little matinee sideshow to distract...(Bush can't be bothered to engage directly but will send press shills to pass love notes, such B.S.)...That's not the biggest problem I have with it, though it does distract. But the thing is, between the two of them and their various delusional egocentric schemes, we're all suffering, on both sides... I don't mean politically, I mean culturally as they and their regimes work night and day to turn us on one another... Like I said... It's all such BULLSHIT!!!!! I blame Bush more, but they are both culpable in this spitting contest of propagandizing and war mongering...That's a major problem in all this for me.... I just don't trust either one of em................JD

Is this what passes for 'military strategy' in this current regime?

I guess planting bloody gloves on them was just too messy and time-consuming.

its great :( we're selectively breeding iraqis to not pick up garbage.

I'd love to hear the geniuses in our military explain how this is a good idea.

It's indiscriminate genocide, this is just another one of their (Bush & Co.) methods. The military has killed 10's of thousands of children and women along with their husbands, sons and brothers that may or may not have been involved in the war. No one in government cares, they just renewed the BLACKWATER contract after it was revealed they are just paid murderers.

We're the bad guys this time around.

Jack Damage, I for the most part agree with you. I just felt that Bollinger baited Ahmadinejad to come to the college and then proceeded to attack him. He could have gotten his point across in a much more adult and decent way. He came across as attacking Ahmadinejad, rather than quizzing his actions and attitudes. After he said his piece, Ahmadinejad looked like a victim. That's a poor way to begin a conversation that you hope to win.

I would pay to see someone be half that tough on bush. Nope, no trust for either of them but so far, Ahmadinejad hasn't invaded and occupied a sovereign country. As far as we know he also has no nukes. So I don't fear him as much as I do our present president.

Instead of scattering "dummy" bomb parts that, if used, would produce devices that would fail to detonate, and thus save lives...

Or,

Ether simply by visual observation or perhaps by use of a tracking device concealed in the objects, following the individual and hopefully they will lead you to more individuals who can be apprehended, prevented from making more bombs, and thus save lives...

Snipers will kill individuals who pick them up, in order to send the message to potential bomb makers:

"Remember, don't take chances with materials you find in the street. Always get your bomb materials from your authorized insurgent-supply and bomb-making retailer. They offer top performance, at competitive prices, and they'll never shoot you in the head for picking them up."

What a bunch of murders!

How in the hell didn't they figure that it could be a concerned parent removing these dangerous planted items away for their children? Or like the article referred to how many children were "put down."

So they can swell down beer and hide and wait for the next victim, no doubt it will be blamed on "insurgents" because they are shot.

I don't believe anything this chimpy administration says.

repugs are sneaky snakes

What an unbelievably stupid tactic.

No wonder the US is becoming the target of so many jokes around the world.

It's really sad though that people's lives have to end as a result of such sheer stupidity and arrogance. Not funny at all.

Soldiers have the right to refuse illegal war and tactics.
Many have already.

More than 20 retired generals have spoken out against the Iraq war.
http://thinkprogress.org/2007/09/24/more-than-20-retired-generals-speak-...

The soldiers and Generals know.
Bush is a danger to our Country and the world. He is becoming more delusional and insane every day.

The road to Peace in Iraq...
Check Bush into the hospital indefinitely.
and show the people of Iraq a closed circuit image.

http://www.nomorevictims.org

I wonder how Iraqis are enjoying the freedom we brought them.

Remember when we dropped cluster bombs that looked like ration packets? Kids thought they were collecting food and toys, and instead got blown to bits?

Bait's no longer a pc term, now it sushi.

This is what our once great military has been reduced by this bunch od idiots in the White House. Expect matters to get worse.

Who in the military approves of these tactics before they are used? Somebody must have hatched this horrible idea and someone must have had to approve of it. Those two people should be put into military jail for a long long time.

Imagine in our own county that police put an unloaded gun on the side of the road and then shot anyone who picked it up. Would that be tolerated? God, I hope not.

This is just like when we colored cluster bombs the same color as food rations and dropped them in Afghanistan... or when the Soviets poisoned wells and set dolls on grenades when they occupied Afghanistan.

This is so Wrong!

So this truck driver hauling a bunch of computers stops in the middle of nowhere. He walks into a diner to get something to eat, and halfway through his meal, a tall skinny guy walks in with taped glasses, a pocket protector and a bow-tie. The cook behind the counter pulls out a shotgun and shoots the guy dead.

The truck driver is shocked and asked why he shot the person. The cook says, "Well, in these parts, it's open season on geeks for the next month. You might as well get them while you can."

After finishing his meal, the truck driver gets back on the highway, and not even two miles out, a tire blows out, causing the truck to swerve off the side of the road and fall into a ditch. A couple of minutes later, the driver recovers, and gets out his truck. He sees that the back opened up and his cargo of computers was strewn all over the highway.

Suddenly, a bunch of awkwardly dressed people with thick glasses start approaching the wreckage. The truck driver goes back into his cab, pulls out a pistol and starts shooting at all the geeks. A cop pulls up and yells at the trucker, "What in the Hell do you think you're doing?!"

The trucker nervously responds, "Someone at the local diner said it was open season on geeks."

The cop says, "Yes, but you're not supposed to bait them!"

:)

and it's ok for blackwater to blantantly sell arms to known terrorists in iraq to kill American soldiers and that's ok? and bush's order 17 gives them complete immunity? this makes bush an enemy combattant and should be tried for his war crimes against the United States.

I cringe every time I here a report that "we've" killed more suspected insurgents. This kind of thing we Americans used to recoil in horror at - the days before the triumph of Bush and the neocons (or perhaps NeoJohn Birch Society). What tormented fiction writer can top this blatant bait-n-murder scheme - blowing out someone's brains from 200-300 yards for picking something up and declaring democracy to be on the march? The modern republican Party praises Bush for his submission to Jesus Christ but is this the kind of nation that the words of Jesus would commend or condemn? The modern William Kristol (PNAC), paranoid Cheney, uninformed man-child Bush controlled Republican Party is sick and has infected the nation.

The values keyboard warriors and war pundits are sick with blood lust and delusions of personal and national glory and our politicians and MSM are all beside themselves because a manly-smelling, PhD-holding US General might have his feelings crushed by American citizens speaking their minds. As a nation we have lost all sense of morality and honor and become a cowardly might-is-right, kill-and-then-ask-questions, third-rate state grasping at hollow notions of righteousness and valor. A nation of whining, cowardly, warrior-wannabes commanding the most powerful military ever. EVAR. A cowed and fearful nation easily moved to war based on trickery and hazy and hyped notions of vague threats posed by perceived enemies that may or may not harm someone somewhere someday.

Don't understand it? No problem, kill it - just remember to invoke the easy to use Everything Changed After 9/11 clause.

How is it again that our "liberating" the Iraques from the illusory rape rooms and then for years and decades randomly gunning them down in cold blood is helping them?

Just imagine 10, 20, 50 or 100 years of this. Onward to Iran. Onward to Syria. Onward to Russia. Onward to China. Onward to wherever anyone has the suicidal tendency not to completely bend to our arbitrary will.

Impeach and withdraw the war machine from Iraq now. Stop murdering women, children and innocents now. Start repairing the damage to our national character and credibility now.

Thanks for the link from Washington Post. Its official, that's the craziest f - ing thing I've read all month, and that's saying a lot!

If this is true, this is so wrong. I imagine quite a few people would pick up ammo or other potential bomb materials ("bait") simply to get it out of the road and to make sure it doesn't fall in the hands of little kids. If you were walking down the street and saw a bunch of ammo scattered, wouldn't you remove it? This sounds like an excuse for cold-blooded murder.

On the Ahmadinejad thing, the NY Times had a good article on why he's really irrelevant. Most Iranians are puzzled as to why we've made such a huge deal about him. It's like our politicians have no concept of how Iranian politics works.

So much for picking something up off the ground to throw it in the trash.

Paddy @ 3:

New York legislators threaten Columbia University's public funding over Ahmadinejad,

God help us, the looneys have taken over everything.

There's an article out now that gladly gloats that he question the official story of 9/11 and the holocaust. So, now, anyone who questions the official 9/11 story will automatically be thrown in with holocaust doubters and Ahmadinejad. Great.

dadams @ 31:

Damn straight.

Bush only goes to church for a photo-op.

I just heard on TV that 20% of the military is enlisted with people who aren't US citizens.

WTF?

POP@18;

Agreed, not the best way to treat a guest, or initiate diplomacy. Still wouldn't trust either one of them as far as I could throw them.... Seems like nothing is really what it seems these days. Like we've all fallen into a bad sci-fi channel movie....JD

Ooh, does this mean if I put a gun outside Ted Nugent's house, I can shoot him or any member of his family who comes out to pick it up because it obviously means he must be a murderer?

I'm surprised they don't make the bait something juicer, like food or, even better, money, to get higher body counts. The higher ups love those body counts.

So lets see.
1.Aggressively invade a country that has no real means of defending itself, killing upwards of one million of its citizens.
2.force the suffering, humiliated citizenry into acts of suicidal desperation by "baiting" them.
3.shoot them dead.
4.rinse and repeat.

tHeGaMeOfLiFe @ 39:

I just heard on TV that 20% of the military is enlisted with people who aren't US citizens.

WTF?

Yep. Remember several months ago that the Bush admin was thinking up a stupid scheme where they'd fast-track naturalization of non-citizens in the military in order to get more recruits?

Y'know, the Romans enlisted foreigners in their army because their empire was stretched so thin... and looked how well it worked out for them!

History repeats itself?! Nahhhh...

sigh...................

Maybe it is a Mid-East thing. Since September 28, 2000 Israelis have killed 892 children.

http://umkahlil.blogspot.com/2007/09/accidents-happen-israelis-kill-892....

Maybe it is the end of the world. Everywhere I go I see people acting so stupid and selfish and unkind, it makes you wonder just what the hell has happened since 2000?? Maybe Y2K was really the secret code meaning Your too Kill, and so we have. 3798 in the sand and another ten thousand out of Iraq that don't get counted in the tally.

This sounds like a Negroponte tactic because it is reminiscent of photos I saw of plastic explosive mines during the war in Central America, they looked like Disney toys and kids would get blown up if they touched them.

Chris from Ohio @ 35:

So much for picking something up off the ground to throw it in the trash.

How about picking up something on the ground that they recognize to be dangerous so no one will get hurt?

How about picking up something on the ground that they recognize to be dangerous to take to the American authorities?

I wonder how many good Samaritans and concerned citizens are included in their body count.
