I'm sure glad someone's keeping track of Bush's fu*k-ups. I tried for awhile, but I gave up back in March of '00, when I overloaded my new Dell, which only had 120 megs on the hard drive.

rasta's picture

thanks......it's so hard to keep track without a scorecard.

Global Warming's picture

Replace Matthews with David Shuster and call it a GOOD DAY.

Gekke's picture

there are more scandals than just those 3, how about Walter reed, all those recess appointments, those famous 16 words, downing street memo and ignoring the pdb "bin laden determined to strike", to name just a few 8:

Preacher Boob's picture

May I suggest for the next new segment, 'Bushwhacky'. Then, 'Bushwhacked'. Then, 'BushWhackedOff'.

right on!'s picture

Right frickin' on!! I've been wondering when his eff-ups were going to be documented in a high profile format. Well done!!

Che's Lounge's picture

They could fill the entire show with a "Bushed" segment. Every day.

wisedup's picture

Easy Countdown, I only have 120GB's to keep track!

wijg's picture

Excellent!

Insurgent's picture

We're keeping track as well.

I also like that getting bushed is the same as getting effed! That Bu$h is one bushed-up mo-bu!

Reagan was known as the 'Teflon President', because none of his screw-ups and scandals seemed to 'stick' to him.

Bush should be known as the Timex/Coc*sucking/Flypaper President', because, on his screw-ups, like Ted Haggard, he keeps on trickin' while he keeps on lickin', but they keep on stickin'.

And just think, bush has another whole year to continue to add to the list. Whew, can we live through it?

Lets see:

Enron,

memos of Bin Laden strike plans,

Lies to the UN (and the rest of the world)

Freedom fries, and old Europe, when France thought the evidence was insufficient to warrant a war on Iraq. (They were rather polite)

No bid contracts, for 10 times the money a local Iraqi company offered to fix a bridge for, (which the US company failed to complete)

A planeload worth of 100 dollar bills, some 100 000 weapons, (or some 200 000 of them, not sure)

Vacations (maybe not a scandal, what if the guy had been screwing up full time?)

Katrina, guitar playing and horsejudge? crony leading FEMA,

Quietly sending out all family of the main suspect after 9/11, during the no fly days.

Using terror alerts to boost ratings through most of his time,

Cheney shooting a guy in the face, not notifying cops about it for a while, then claiming he had one beer, (and he can drink in spite of heart condition, right?)

Warrantless wiretapping, according to some started in spring 2001.

Torture,

Walter Reed,

Signing statements galore,

I know I have forgotten most,

OliverDreams's picture

WTF is an impeachable offense? Aren't Bush and Cheney well into double figures in impeachable offenses by now? It's hard to have faith in a government that would allow Bush and Cheney to remain in office.

Why is Dennis Kucinich the only person willing to stand up to these dictators and demand impeachment? Why isn't everybody supporting Dennis Kucinich? Beats me.

Dennis Kucinich 08 - The candidate with the courage to bring this administration to justice.

Cythraul's picture

WTF is an impeachable offense?

Nothing.

Impeachment is off the table.

Money and power is ON the table.

Left wing, right wing, same rotten bird.

CafeenMan's picture

Don't forget failure to secure tons of explosive in Iraq which are probably what are being used to blow up our soldiers and their civilians.

And do republican sex scandals count? I understand some people have small hard drives so maybe we should just limit it to republican pedophiles. You'll still need a bigger drive though. Sorry.

RayC's picture

I remember when ask why the MSM didn't lead with the Downing street memos some "journalists" said it was an old story and everyone already knew that we had been lied into the Iraq mess. I suppose that all these stories are old news so there is no need to further explore them.

Is there a website with a comprehensive list of the Bush scandals?

If anyone knows of one, I'd love to have a link to it

Wow! Got as far as point 66 and decided I'd read enough. It's enough to make a person cry.

When the number of Bu$h scandals reach 300(which won't take long to happen) does that mean we can paint the White House red?

If you paid attention to the segment set-up (you DID watch it, right?), you'd have heard Keith explain that this segment will remind us of the scandals that have dropped off the radar due to all the NEW scandals being revealed. Thus, we will see the ones you've pointed out, as well as many more.

FreedomOfInformationAct's picture

The number of felonious crimes committed by this corrupt PNAC neocon cabal of a crooked bush administration are far too many to fit into a single hour of television programming, let alone a three minute segment on Countdown.

But at least it's a start, we must hold these traitorous war criminals accountable!

Impeach, Indict, Convict, Sentence, Repeat!

Then it's off to The Haugue, to stand trial for war crimes!

Heinz Krummerling's picture

Still think they should have a "This Week in Bush" that recounts the scandal anniversary date. I believe you could fill at least 350 days worth of subject matter on that one.

It must be pretty hard to pick just THREE!

Then it's off to The Hague, to stand trial for war crimes!

Except that Ron Paul sponsored an amendment (with Senator Jesse Helms) to ATTACK HOLLAND if the ICC arrests any U.S. person for warcrimes.

Vote for Ron Paul -- he wants to bust out our war criminals!

the web site show 289 scandals, by the way

There are a bunch missing.

• CIA burns down Torah/Koran Repository, destroying irreplaceable religious books.

• CIA attacks Russian convoy with its own aircraft, killing the Ambassador's driver, and then tries to search the ambassador, nearly setting off a war with Russia.

• Pentagon says it needs FIVE tank divisions to invade Iraq; Ronald Dumbsfeld says "We will do it on the cheap!" and cobbles together ONE, using tanks borrowed from the Kuwaitis, and thereby creates a 300 mile long NEAR DISASTER, during which quite a few soldiers died attempting to provide that lateral security, including two Marines who drowned when ordered (by reserve commander) to cross a wide agricultural ditch/river in full battle dress without either of the required safety lines, causing the squad to spend the rest of the day hunting for their bodies.

• Failed to guard Tuwaitha or any of the other eight nuclear repositories in Iraq, allowing Cesium and Strontium cannisters to go missing, and allowing locals to poison themselves and especially their children, with yellowcake containers (labeled in German) which they dumped out, and used to haul water.

• Illegally destroyed Iraq's water and power supplies (major warcrime).

• Failed to guard any of the Iraqi munitions sites, after grossly reducing the number of troops in the invasion force under Rumsfeld's/Bush's direct orders:

Army General John Abizaid, Commander, US Central Command (USCENTCOM), testified before the US Senate in September 2003: “there is more ammunition in Iraq than anyplace I’ve ever been in my life, and it’s not securable. I wish I could tell you that we had it all under control. We don’t. There are certainly not enough forces anywhere to guard the ammunition in Iraq.”6

Iraq was so awash in CEA that coalition forces were overwhelmed with trying to secure ammunition sites. Several of the storage depots were miles long and contained hundreds of storage magazines. In most instances, coalition forces bypassed ammunition sites without trying to establish even a minimum cursory security element. Looting became rampant because ammunition sites were inadequately guarded. David Kay, the former chief US weapons inspector said that looting was so bad during the fall of 2003 that Iraqis were going in at night individually and in trucks. “There were just not enough boots on the ground, and the military didn’t give it a high enough priority to stop the looting. Tens of thousands of tons of ammunition were being looted, and that is what is fueling the insurgency.”7

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) confirmed Kay’s account and in a 9 November 2003 DIA report, noted the vast majority of explosives and ordnance used in anti- coalition improvised explosive devices have come from pilfered Iraqi ammunition stockpiles and prewar established caches.” 8

...Use of these devices was rare until the summer of 2003. Before IEDs became the weapon of choice, coalition forces were predominately attacked with small arms and RPGs, items commonly found in ammunition caches. RPG-7s were the leading casualty producer, responsible for 50 percent of U.S soldiers killed in post-war operations until use of IEDs significantly increased in 2004.9

“IEDs continue to be the greatest casualty producer among our troops in the field,” General Abizaid said during a 3 March 2004 House Armed Services Committee hearing.10 Six months later with the IED problem continually growing, General Richard Cody, Army Vice Chief of Staff, stated in an interview in September 2004 that 500 to 600 IEDs go off every month and are now responsible for about 90 percent of killed and wounded.11

Oh, and the looting at Tuwaitha alone would have required 100 50-ton trucks, which would have stood out on satellite intel like screaming danger to our troops -- had anyone cared.

This was a pretty poor segment, if you ask me.
Hey, these a 3 scandals you may have forgotten. Moving on....
I think Keith O should have elaborated more on them, given us some history, tell us what is currently happening involving those scandals and perhaps an informed prediction as to what will come of said scandal.

That would have been far more interesting and have a far greater impact, in my opinion.

Remember Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire"? Fine tune these statements (and other misadventures of dubya) to catchy lyrics to the tune of that song that could be very funny.

I agree with Tim in Japan. There is an opportunity here to keep the facts fresh.

Future generations will use his name for a variety of reasons:

"That b*****d raped my sister! I'm gonna bush him up so bad, he won't know what hit him!"

"Piece of junk car! Get it off the lot and it dies! That damn used car salesman bushed me over!"

"I drank too much; I'm all bushed up."

"Did you send it by express mail?"
"No."
"Then, my friend, you are well and truly bushed. I'd start cleaning out my desk , if I were you."

"Oh, honey, bush me! Bush me! Yeah, that's it! Bush me harder! Oh! Ooooh, bush meeeeeee!"

Gregoir's picture

Bush makes me long for the days of Richard Nixon. He makes Nixon look honest and honorable. He makes Ronald Reagan looks like a fiscally responsible diplomat. He makes Herbert Hoover look like somebody who cared about the plight of the poor. Bush is the Nero of our times. We are witnessing the decline of an empire.

Could us Linux users get links to non-proprietary codec formats of these videos? Having Windows Media and Quicktime formats are redundant because both Mac and PC platforms can play both.

OK, we need another segment called "Appointed!" listing all the bass-ackward appointments that have been made by this administration.

You know, like for EPA, Mine Safety, FEMA, Justice, Civil rights of justice etc., and of course, detailing their "credentials" and how they've done in their jobs.

Anyone keeping that list?

Cheers,
