The Surrender is Working

The "surge" theory says that Iraq is pacified. The numbers in general don't bear that out.

Only phony soldiers commit suicide.

This is simply another one of many analogies that can be compared to Vietnam. During that conflict that the U.S. was involved in, people in the government such as McNamara, Walt Rostow, McGeorge Bundy, LBJ, General Westmoreland, et al, would continually remind the American public that victory against the communist hordes was just around the corner. In Vietnam, as in Iraq, victory would never be achieved as long as a foreign country's military was causing death and destruction in that country. The United States refused to learn that the Vietnamese were not going to meekly submit to being subjugated by the French just as the United States did not learn that the Iraqis were not going to be oppressed by the British after The Great War. Twenty five million or so people in Iraq against 160,000 American soldiers. "Into the valley of death" rode the 160,000. Perhaps Bush, like his father, thinks the United States has licked the Vietnam syndrome. If so, it is a delusion of the highest order.

It's time for dems to call repugs out on this every time they claim the "surge is successful". Expecting the MSM to do that is unrealistic.

All we have to do is claim we are winning as is usual. Just as the USSR did right before it pulled out of Afganistan...

Interesting article. "Americans must love the rich so much to give up so many years and young men for them."

Indeed.

We know that the President has trouble speaking. We know that he's not a "plainspoken" man. We know that he has no vision of what a gov't is, or what it should do, nor any of the why's and/or wherefores that attach. In short, he is no leader, he is simply and empty suit mouthing words prepared for him by others of unknown designs.

What all of this means is, nothing that was done during his presidency was a mistake, it was the willful work of intention. It also means that his Presidency must be fully investigated and very substantial penalties levied against those found to be deserving of them. Anything less will not serve to protect America, and will put America's future at further risk.
