lolo @ 1:
Schumer and Durbin were on Mett the Press today, schilling for their candidates. Nothing new. Don't bother watching and prepare for the Daytona 500 instead.

"We do know that he is actively pursuing a nuclear weapon." - Condoleezza Rice on September 8, 2002
YET this week, Rice told Rep. Wexler that there was disagreement in the Intelligence Community about whether Saddam reconstituted his nuclear weapons program.
"The Bush administration has demonstrated a tendency to exaggerate threats in the form of weapons of mass destruction to exploit the ignorance of the American public and the fear that is derived from this ignorance." - Scott Ritter
I just jumped on AOL this morning and their main news page is saying that George W. Bush ranks, according to a recent poll, one of the top ten best Presidents in American history. They must have polled crack junkies to get those numbers for Bush.
Americans Rank Lincoln as Top President
"Feb. 17) - Far and away, Abraham Lincoln is ranked by Americans as the nation's greatest president, according to a poll conducted by Harris Interactive and released this week, just ahead of Presidents Day. What's surprising is that President George W. Bush, whose approval rating has plunged to just 30 percent, also sneaks into the top ten list."

Kosovo Declares Independence, Seeks U.S., EU Backing.
They should build a monument of President Clinton on Bill Clinton Blvd.
Well Clinton who got all the votes in NY voting precincts, including Harlem, brought this on herself. she knows that 5 million can go a long way I guess
getalife @ 7:
I had read that Britain is sending its last 1,000 reserve troops to that area as well. The U.S. and EU for that matter really do not have many ground troops to spare if Russia or Serbia decide to doing something about Kosovo. This could get ugly really fast.
Back when we all witnessed the destruction of New Orleans on the TV and the delayed response from the administration. I said that they are allowing this destruction to happen to get rid of all the poor people, rundown properties, and the people of color who are not willing to play along and remake the city into an upscale playground for the well to do. I said that they will systematically relocate the poor and people of color so that New Orleans becomes a stronghold of Republican ideals. I was told at the time to adjust my tin foil hat. What do you think now?

I smell something foul in this town. In one video the kids is running around with evidence in his pocket from the event, and yet much controversy on what happen in this town where one guy fought back in having his way of life taken away from the city official.
What got me was that they moved the sewage line and refuse to let him hook up, then gave him a citation for not having sewage line hook up. It looks as if the city plotted eminent domain for his land.
I caught this tidbit from the show called "shockwave" last nite and this event happen almost 4 years ago, and after much has been learn from this event. The show repeated assertion that was not found true.
'How The Spooks Took Over The News'
There have always been spooks in the news business. Times (and other newspapers') overseas bureau chiefs were usually CIA. And then there were really obvious spooks like Tucker Carlson's daddy, who ping-ponged between Voice of America, Radio Marti, anchoring at a Los Angeles television station and PBS.
The difference was that we had investigative journalists who were in it for the truth, not for the money and the connections to political power. We had newspaper owners who were what used to be called 'reformers', who believed society benefitted from the truth. But since the 1980s, the rightwing faction of the CIA pretty much infiltrated and took over the media. They did it by raising tons of money from phony "think tanks" and "focus groups" and from advertising agency megadollars. It was realised in the 1950s that Mad Ave advertising was the most successful form of proaganda, and the spooks were in that from the beginning.
Maybe someday we'll have reformers again, but I don't know. 'Greed is good' has become the 11th Commandment for US Christians. The rich have become so much richer and technology has become so good that it is easy to locate dissent, target the dissenters and disseminate smear propaganda against dissenters across all media. Our media is now a soviet.
Yikes! A lot to read through... ;-)
Speaking of missing an issue..
What about the NYT article that showed over 80 precints in NYC that did not have a single vote for Obama? Not to mention most of them were in HARLEM!!
It's on BradBlog, Huffington Post... I am dissapointed it's not here...
Joe O. @ 5:
CCN, MSN, ABC, NBC, Fox, NYT, AOL etc etc all part of the fat money grabbing war machine with weapons companies and other war profiteers at the top owning them and pulling their strings.
Why are we surprised that the arms manufacturers who own (or bribe) most of the Media and Congress and use them to promote conflict and war profits, funded by the taxpayer and helpful foreign money sources.
As they say follow the money and check out the fear mongers bank accounts.
Amazing how in the 21st century we in America are witnessing our own government committing a war of foreign aggression complete with genocide and attempted plundering of another countries and peoples natural resources.
Hard to believe a Democratic Constitutional Republic (the USA) that was founded and established to be neutral, fair, lawful and "for the people" and governed "by the people" could end up this sour mean and hostile to the rest of the world.
America was supposed to be a beacon of light and rights and a role model to the despotic countries in the world, not what the robber barons and neocon types have turned the USA into over the last 60 years or maybe the last 100 ish.
America would be 10 times richer today if it hadnt gone 'Imperial' 100 years ago.
This is true, even historically accurate. The roman empire during its persecution economy began to sank, but during its relax state of affairs to gay and free love and such the economy bloom, and people weren't afraid to do business in that state of calmness.
Even though there are less war going on today, the big war we have have cause so much death from starvation, diarrhea, tainted water supply, and genocide. This unrest on our govt have ripple to the rest of the world, and we no longer can focus on the goodness of our heart but harness our hatred toward those that are different from us.
9/11 gave those who hate the power to strike upon the earth.
Bush In Africa Is Like Bush At Katrina
Frank Rich and Maureen Dowd can say whatever they want, despite the persistent crying of Clinton supporters who are afraid that their candidate will be exposed as an unwise choice before Barack has all but sealed up the nomination.
Keep the columns coming to counter the vitriolic b.s. constantly coming from the likes of Taylor Marsh and her blind faux-feminist clones.
