I bet the explanation doesn't go hand in hand with the "respect" that the right wing nuts have tossed at people such as the very reverent Swift Boat vets or the utmost respect that Bush gave McCain in 2000 by casting infidelity and illegitimate child remarks his way. If I was McCain's commercial designer, I'd put together a commercial made from all the clips where Clinton pushes McCain's credentials as commander in chief and tacitly endorses his abilities. I'd dig up some of the older clips where she says nice things about him and then end it with a graphic that suggests that even Democrats endorse McCain for president.
I have no problem with Clinton being tough on Obama but she's starting to sound like she's endorsing McCain and that's going to be awfully hard to defend later. And she can't beat McCain on national security experience so it's a bad rhetorical line to push as hard as she's pushing.

I have to agree with you. I just returned from my second tour in Afghanistan and getting ready to ship out for Iraq in a couple of months. Not even enough time to get adjusted to the world. There are some troops out there that share my same views, unfortunately, there are just as many that have been drinking the kool-aid and really believe the line of bullS**t that has been fed to them for seven years. If we really wanted to get the folks who were responsible for 9-11, shouldn't we have invaded Saudi Arabia instead?

This is true, I know of some kids that we Med Evac'd out of there were only on their first tour. That is the exception rather than the rule. For the most part, the troops are pretty motivated, but after being in the sandbox for a year or so, some of them can't handle it. I guess it is about how you deal with the circumstances that are dealt to you.

The DoD is aware of this as well. They've released a statement or two showing that PTSD is at the highest levels the military has ever seen. The DoVA is specifically working on trying to deal with Iraq vets and it's going to be an incredible problem by the end of the business in Iraq.

Our Aeromedical Evacuation system is top notch. Our survival rates are much better than they were in the Vietnam era. I'm not just saying that because I have seen it firsthand, That is what I am doing over there.

It is covered . . . with tons of makeup. Who knows what really lurks under the layers of lanolin plastered on her face. A friend who works at an embassey mentioned this when he spoke with her at a recent state function. He said George W couldn't wait to get out the door and Laura's face looked like it was layered in makeup.
