Glenn Beck: The new Big Oil analyst: 'The Big Egg'

It's bad enough he's on Headline News, but why does Glenn Beck show up as a financial analyst on CNN to defend big oil as they face Congress?

"On April Fool's Day, the biggest joke of all is being played on American families by big oil," said Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., chairman of the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.

We could be experiencing "the apocalypse" and he'd be saying that we're just experiencing some unusual weather formations at the moment. "Stay in your homes, people. It'll all be over soon!" Ali Velshi begins a segment about Big Oil being grilled by Congress today over their huge profits, tax breaks and how it's affecting Americans. We really need a right wing oil apologist on the air to muddy the waters in a time when this country's economy is falling apart and people can't pay their bills. Of course we need Corporations making money, but at what cost to the people? And how much money should they be making and how are they making it? We need the CNN's of the world to give us facts and information---not far right opinions. We almost slipped into a depression with the Bear Stearns fiasco. How's your gas bill lately? He had a lot of nerve by praising Beck's intelligence:

Velshi: The average American struggle at the pump, my next guest says---not so fast, a good deal of the American public whether they know it or not have a vested interest in big oil making big money. Headline News host and radio personality Glenn Beck joins me now. He makes a lot of sense a lot of the time, what are you talking about. Glenn. We have a vested interest in these guys making more money?

Beck: When are we going to pull Big Milk to Capitol hill. When are we going to pull up Big Egg on Capitol Hill.

You can write a transcript if you like. Yes, food is up too. Maybe the erosion of the US dollar has something to do with it? Not that I'm an economist, but again, he's trying to fog up the issue. Here's a few of the very serious and sensible things Glenn Beck has said on the air in the past that made CNN use him during their important economy show.

Glenn Beck: McCain’s buddy Hagee Reassures Beck That Obama Is NOT The Anti-Christ

Glenn Beck: if you’re an ugly woman, you’re probably a progressive as well

Glenn Beck on Why You’re Going to Learn to Love John McCain

CNN’s Beck on wildfire victims: On the October 22 edition of his nationally syndicated radio program, host Glenn Beck stated, “I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today.

CNN's Beck to first-ever Muslim congressman: "[W]hat I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies' "

Since I want to keep my lunch, I am going to skip watching this clip of Glenn Dreck and assume that he rolled his eyes like a schoolyard taunter, let loose with a few derisive snorts, made some uninformed and silly comments not even remotely based on fact, and wrapped the whole mess in what amounted to nothing more than his opinion rather than an informed piece of reality-based reporting.

Am I close?

GB is an idiot, but that is no surprise. If Congress ever wanted to call Big Egg and Big Milk up to Capitol Hill, the execs that run those industries would likely blame Big Oil / Gas as the reason the price of food has risen so sharply -- either because food products are being used to produce alternative fuels or because oil, gas and coal are necessary to power the tractors, tractor trailers, trucks and machines that are necessary to bring these products to market.

Right like any of these guys have any idea what Americans are dealing with from day to day and week to week battling inflation, tanking investments and pensions, out of control health care costs, rising taxes, sure right guys tell us all about it over Chardonnay and Lobster at the Hamptons this weekend.

strickly speaking for me dickhead my car dont run on fricking eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just give back the tax cuts to oil companies and have them pay a market rate for oil on public lands and we'll start talking. Until then, there is nothing to talk about with big oil.

And Glen can tell us stories about bankrupt landscaping contractors recently stiffed by a hedge fund managers over the installation of a half acre of pachysandra while he's at it.

Hearty tales of the because we can crowds.

Glen how bout some insider lessons on how to profit and get rich from the misfortunes of others. Glens Becks "Disaster Capitalism for Dummies."

Drug addled social Darwinists, what can you say?

Shakes head in pity-disgust.

So GB, the profits made by the oil companies and their stock holders offset the increase in price for ALL goods and services paid by the masses due to higher fuel prices?

What's good for GM, blah blah blah........

Bullshit!

ah Glenn Beck a real American,a real American Jackass!

So much for Duty, Honor, Country.

the most disgraceful aspect of this (beyond cnn's continuing degradation) is that velshi is the supposed business guy at cnn. that he would so casually and willingly pariticpate in propelling these lies and distortions is disgusting.

Let's put an end to Beck's ravings once and for all. Let's all chip in and buy him a brain.

Glenn Beck....uh....no thank you.

Big Oil made record profits over the last five years. How good does it have to get for them for things to trickle down to me, Glenn?

Glenn, you are an ignorant pus-bag.

I think Glenn Beck is great! Great for mopping up septic tanks.

Even if I had a 401 that invested in the oil stocks, the value of the 401 is diminished by the higher costs of everything else. It is obvious that these idiots are not economists. If only someone would use some common sense, they could see this.

The premise that what is good for corporations, is by default, "good for America", certainly has merit....on the face of it. If, in fact, corporations reinvested the enormous profits they have been making under the Bush/Cheney mafioso party, and made themselves both more cost competitive in this intense international marketplace, and able to sustain a larger work force, I'd grudgingly lend some credence to the concept of corporate tax breaks. The problem is that it's not the corporations, per se, that have profited so handsomely under this corrupt, incompetent White House. It's CEO Party Time, however!!! Multimillionaires have become almost instant billionaires, and billionaires find that they can barely subsist on their fortunes...they need tens of billions to survive. And, along comes Dick the Prick and Georgie Porgie, to hand their richest pals the US Treasury. Sure, help those corporations that show some interest in the US economy, and in enlarging their labor force, but tell Dick and Dubya to get their tongues out of the asses of the Halliburton and Exxon execs, among others. Outright, unabashed BANDITRY, on an unparalleled level, that's all the Repubs stand for now. Reeking, putrescent, sewer filth, one and all... patting each other on the back, during their golf matches, and smirking about how they've destroyed this country's economy!

Was watching Glenn Beck on CNN HN early sunday morning , and the poor darling was suffering his 'Katrina moment', the fragile bubble of the omnipotence of Wall Street and the Fed was tumbling down.
He was suffering.

NEWSFLASH: we don't go to the store and buy 15/20 gallons of milk at time.

what a ridiculous argument.

Now I see what an apologist for Big Oil looks like: biscuit dough in the shape of a man.

Get the duct tape ready , Humpty Dumpty needs lots of tape, and all of king georges men are unable to put him together again.

I'd like a blueprint of Glenn Beck's brain.

I'm building an idiot.

Once again , CNN sets the standard for American journalism.

Fortunately, I cannot get CNN on my analog TV.

Get 2 PBS stations and now Keith O. on NBC though.

Big Chicken and Big Cow are taking it up the wazoo from Big Oil, just like the little taxpayer. That oil is on our damn federal property. Why should private companies be allowed to take it? Big welfare queens.

Glen Beck and CNN are owned by the giant corporations, so of course they take a pro-corporatist stance. It's called propaganda. The MainStream Media is a right-wing corporate (read, fascist) propaganda machine. Acting shocked, appalled, or scandalized at this is disingenuous - it's time to acknowledge that the corporations have bought our country lock, stock, and barrel.

The solution is grassroots work to elect non-corporate politicians and get them to institute campaign finance reform. We must remove the influence of the corporations on Congress, so that we can pass laws to regulate and control these corporations, and take back our media from them.

Until we do that, the only progressive policies that ever pass will be ones that happen to bring a big company a profit somewhere (read, ethanol).

Ok, Glenn- so why doesn't your argument apply to taxes and universal health care? Sure it stinks to lose your money, but it is an investment in your future. And civil services and health care don't pollute like oil.

This guy wants to reduce taxes (ehm, eliminate them) but he's all lovey-dovey about losing money to Big Oil. Does he really think anyone is making as much from their 401K as Big Oil does? Please.

My right-winger dad doesn't even like Glenn Beck. Who watches this fucko?

I've posted on CNN's website about why they have hired this giggling idiot (no insult, a fact: the man literally is a giggling idiot) but nothing I've ever written has been printed. Instead all that's printed is, "I agree with Glen!" over and over and countless cries for Beck to run for office. A few days ago, CNN ran a column of Beck's about the entitlement crisis. It seemed quite reasonable and got lots more of "Go Glen!" and "Run, Glen, run!", but it was basically the Giggling Idiot version of Al Gore's lock box. Eight years later the man got it right and CNN considered it news. Most places, if you take 8 years to figure something out, you are considered a drooling moron and given a juice box and a big hug. At CNN, if you are 8 years behind the times, apparently you get your own show and a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract. I can't wait for 2016, when CNN will be promoting Glen Beck's "brilliant" columns about how we ought to get out of Iraq and how we really ought to do something about climate change, which will of course be mixed in with the endless columns about how the silly liberals are always wrong., ...giggle...giggle. Some exec at CNN has clearly bet his career on the Giggling Moron and will do anything do defend him. How many years do we have to wait for CNN to figure out the obvious: that the conservative movement is in the toilet (its ancestral home) and that the response to FOX is not Glen Beck, but Keith Olbermann? (By the way, anyone know who at CNN is backing this moron? I'd love to know.).

Haven't seen the clip, but you've perfectly described his act. Why should tonight be any different? What the Hell happened to CNN?

Ali usually tries to do a good job. The media always has throw psychos into the mix...Big Egg! You gotta be kidding me...

Glen Beck, random selection human ? or one outcome of super secret 1955 desert rat camp joining ex-Nazi sperm / egg donars for baby boom experiment?

Har! Thanks for the good LOL.

Yeah...this man certainly is a giggling idiot. I especially like (in this case, "like" meaning: makes me want to smash something into smithereens with my bare hands) when he couples his giggle with a wide-eyed "whaddya stoopid or somethin'?" stare into the camera, a mini-bounce in his chair and a jowel jiggle.

Truly, he has a dizzying intellect.

Keep him on his own show. Does he wear a bow tie too?

Waste more gas than you make from ethanol?

Ever heard of cellulosic ethanol, you ignorant twit?

At the risk of appearing stupid... I'll admit the first time I saw this moron on Headline News, I honestly thought CNN had added a political satire show to the line-up. "Great idea", I thought. I watched three shows, laughing my ass off, before I realized this guy is for real. Now they're giving him time as a "financial analyst"?!
I thought CNN still had a *little* credibility left, but now I know differently.
Sad.

I agree 100% but and this is a big BUT you have to start at the bottom and work your way up, Ralph Nader showing up every 4 years is not doing anything. Spreading the word that Democrats are just as bad as Republicans is not only no help to the cause but also has a voter suppression effect. So I personally will continue to vote for the lesser of 2 evils nationally and support 3 party progressives locally.

Energy should be like Healthcare.
It should be nationalized & distributed in a way that "profits" are not involved.

Gee, and I thought CNN was on the up-and-up, after all those stories about the imminent threat from Saddam Hussein.

I am convinced that about 25% of Limbaugh's, Hannity's, OReilly's and others audience is comprised of people who completely disagree with every word but find them sarcastically funny. I know I once in a while watch the 700 club or John Hagee because I know they will say something so off the wall and ridiculous it will make me laugh.

Here is what's funny. My brother-in-law was quoting something that Beck had said and my b-i-l took it as being serious.

If you have the stomach for it, this is my favorite video of Glenn Beck. A friend told me that he had surgery for anal warts; however, I have neither the time nor legal background to figure out if he’s right.

Sir you and I both know they have to have an incentive to invest in the future, furthermore they know that opinion and demand are changing, so they have to change with it, so they have an economic interest to develop new technology. You also know its a supply and demand issue, Americans continue to drive when they don't have to will cause gas prices to rise, the change has to come at the bottom in demand. Demand in driving, demand in car taste, demand in transportation. Let me add if we could drill of the coast or nuclear energy that would help the price but you and other are hell bent against this because of the environment. I'll submit to you that whatever energy policy we come up with it will have to be on a large scale and it will also have a downside. I believe that nuclear is the most reasonable and manageable of these. Solar and wind will not cover it...

Let them make a profit but big oil is the Bush's legacy and they've gotten more unfair breaks than any other industry. I pay a higher percentage of my income in taxes than any one of the big oil companies. I do not want to support corporate welfare.

Chris, you and Big Oil - get a motel room or something!

Glenn Beck: "We're all Big Oil"

I think the most ironic thing is that the Conservatives always protect big oil.
The Christian Right always protect the Conservatives. Big Oil is one of the most heavily science based industries in the world. They base their whole existence on FACTS that disprove the Religious mumbo jumbo bullshit. Can you imagine Big Oil abandoning carbon dating? Can you imagine Big Oil examining layers of earth and concluding they are thousands of years old? Can you imagine Big Oil planning expeditions and geological findings based on the dinosaurs living 6000 years ago?

Somewhere the Christian right is going to have to realize this.

Your reasoning for thinking you must be right, does not make sense,

"If you can't make it on your own, you can't make it." How much $ does big oil get?
Big Asteroid? Food stamps are the problem. Corporate welfare is good because it boosts our 401 K's, but money to help feed the poor is destroying our economy.

The guy contradicts himself like 5 times a sentence.

This is the pundit culture. Guys like Beck are simply hitmen for big $. Media outlets like CNN which give a forum and thus legitimacy to this kind of charade aren't stupid, they know what Beck is and who he represents, as do the sponsors.

on Beck's TV show later that night he bashed food stamps and defended Wal-Mart.

btw, did you know Beck has a fallout shelter? he honestly believes the end times or apocalypse or whatever is coming.

Can't balance a budget. Can't find 1 guy, with history's greatest military and the support of THE ENTIRE WORLD, in 6+ years of trying. Can't deal with a hurricane, because you people put an expert on Arabian horse shows in charge of FEMA!!??!! The 1 guy in question, you CAN let him hide out for 6+ years in a country you consider to be our #1 ally in the Muslim world!!?? You CAN turn the greatest surpluses in American history into the greatest deficits in American history practically overnight. You CAN take the support and sympathy of the entire world after 9-11 and turn us, again practically overnight, into the most hated and despised nation on earth. What is the use of Conservatives. Cockroaches and maggots at least eat up filth and disease. I'm not talking Winston Churchill or Barry Goldwater: what are modern day conservatives in the U.S.A. good for? Could we make them into Soylent-Green and solve the world's hunger problem's? To put it succinctly: if the U.S. had an ass, then what, based on their past performance, would lead anyone to believe that conservatives were competent to wipe it, let alone run a country?

The confessional:
I am not pissed at the profits of Exxon Mobil. I am pissed at the tax breaks they get. Billions and billions of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. It is not fair. And the main reason they are getting the tax breaks is because of Cheney and Bush. Oil men both of em. Obvious conflict of interest.

Glen Beck is a cockroach. He needs to go the way of Tucker. He is not an asset to CNN. The need to be made aware of this.

Tell me again, how oil going from $30 dollars a barrel to over $100 a barrel, is good for the economy.

While yoiu are at it give John Gibson the finger (I would give an email address but an email would only give Roger Ailes a hard on). Just shoot a finger to the sky like I just did.

The international oil cartel is the most monopolistic, corrupt association on earth. Each country (with a couple newbie exceptions) gets to point the finger at OPEC, Shell, BP, Exxon, etc. The fact is, the price gouging is being committed by the entire collective. And there are major players, who are seldom even mentioned, like Aramco (Arabian-American Oil Company). They are the largest oil company in the world, located in Saudi Arabia, and half-owned by America. Yet, when you see them in OPEC meetings, nary an American is in sight. The Arabs get blamed for the skyrocketing prices, but Texas oil men are pulling the string.

Beck made the obvious blunder of a weak position. He used a one-year increase in oil prices to try to make a point (20% or whatever). Look at the price of oil over a five year period. Nothing even comes close to it. When you factor in the added cost to overall inflation, it is the number one significant factor driving it. The remaining drivel he regurgitated was only slightly less pathetic. He is totally unqualified to report on economics, so I really wish someone would 'pull his plug'.

So, if XOM paid their fair share of taxes they would not look for more oil? With a few billion less they would not have enough to explore? Are you retarded?

No, but this way they have MORE to look for oil and other thing with, its not your money or the states for that matter, they earned it!

They are not paying their fair share... percnetagewise.

I actually saw this drivel on CNN today. This guy can rationalize better than any fool on the planet. As I watched Toolbag Beck pontificate, all I could think of was 'yeah, and if my aunt minerals, she'd be my uncle!'

Put an Uncle Fester collar under his neck and he'd truly look like the 'cock with ears' that he is.

The fact of the matter is Big Egg and Big Milk is rising and will be a luxurious staple. In 12 months, beef will be extremely high priced. All of this due to the fact that corn is being grown, and sold for the production of ethanol, recently to the tune of 27 billion bushels of the gold stuff. The energy to manufacture ethanol is more than the savings also, but you didn't hear that here. Farmers raising beef cattle are selling off the stock before it reaches maturity because they can no longer afford to feed them to reach adulthood and a profitable weight at the market. This means that you the consumer will be paying for that too. Good luck eating.

Now I see that he is underscoring his name.

This guy Beck should be wearing a skirt and panty hose , thought he'd be off the air by now .

you know what's funny... I actually thought that first nimrod, (Ali Velshi?) *was* Glenn Beck in some sort of cockamamie bald wig disguise, interviewing himself as a joke! "...he makes a lot of sense a lot of the time" ha ha ha)

These two jokers ("Big Milk" "Big chicken" indeed) have the same speeded out, half-crazed vocal cadence, and the same knee-jerk pseudo-Rushian "watch me pull the facts out of my ass" opinions. They might as well be the same guy.

Anyway, I guess I was half right, because asking Glenn freakin Beck to opine about anything regarding economics is a goddam joke.

He did get fired from Fox. He still has a radio show unfortunately. It is even worse than the TV show but it is radio.

Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son.

The United States of America has become what our nation feared and despised most for the past ninety years... A COMMUNIST STATE.

The government, with full approval by the infamous communist President James E. Carter Jr., bailed out Chrysler in 1979 and has continued to dump our tax dollars into the coffers of corporations at the expense of free market capitalism.

Ours is a command-control economy... A COMMUNIST STATE.

chris @ 45:

Actually I think Glenn is right on this one, it should also be added they Exxon Mobile pays a shit load in taxes, so we do have a vested interested in them making big money. They also use that money for R&D, I wish we would think before we jump on big oil.....................

I'm sure this post read better in the original German.

I was pissed off to see Beck wearing one night the same "Bob Dylan Motor Co." T-shirt that I have. Nazi pricks cannot wear concert shirts from anyone except Ted Nugent; it oughta be a law!

Clay Peck @ 69:

Glenn Beck.....the long-lost love child of Archie Bunker and Pat Nixon. This guy gives schmucks a bad name.

I always thought he was Elmer Fudd's spawn, thanks for clearing that up. This asshole is the stinking backside of CNN. But Gupta hearts him.

So these oil zealots get called up on capitol hill to "explain themselves" to the lawmakers. Meanwhile, the feds tax gasolene as well as the states and counties, then waste it on nonsense. Everybody's got to get a piece of the money on the consumers. How is the government any different from these oil thieves?
Glenn Beck is an asswipe with no point. Why is he still on any program?

Glen is right, gas, milk and eggs have all gone up in price. However, this idiot missed the point. I can alter my diet quite easily and do without milk and eggs. A lot of people eat no dairy at all as a matter of choice. But, my car's diet, I cannot alter. It runs on gas and nothing else. So we are all stuck. The oil industry in this country is a monopolistic industry. It is not market based in that respect. So when all the CEOs sit in front of Congress and talk about allowing the market to set prices while raking in obscene profits at our expense, they are spinning and lying to all of us.

Glen Beck: "Mr. Hysteria"

The guy is a dry drunk just like Bush.

yes, we all have 401Ks with Exxon stock. And we all have 401k's with "big egg"

Idiot.

Beck = pecker.

Glenn Beck reminds me of Tucker Carlson, except Tucker is actually more intelligent (which shows you how dumb Glenn is). As the post says, it's bad enough this moron has his own show (that no one watches, his ratings are abysmal) on HNN, but they bring him on CNN a lot. Considering he embarrasses himself all the time with his idiotic musings, I really can't think of why he continually gets air time.

The bosses at CNN/HNN are really pushing this guy. It's very similar to the way MSNBC kept giving Tucker Carlson a different show, despite the fact that hardly anyone watched Tucker's shows.

I have no idea why CNN loves this guy so much, other than he's just another right wing bloward.

The price of food is up the exact same amount as oil, and they would blame the government programs for that?!?! What a fuck-tard. Really, how does this buffoon dress himself in the morning. Farmers who have to use OIL to heat their homes, run their farms, grow their crops and deliver their products to super-markets that use OIL to heat the stores and deliver their products should blame government subsidies? That makes sense if you are a mindless repig. MAYBE the price of food is up the same percentage as OIL because the US is completely dependent on oil for every little thing that is done.

CNN is starting to overtake FUX as the Crappiest Noise Network.

I`m not even going to waste my time badmouthing an asskissing wingnut punk. This guy is Rush Limbaugh poor man`s bitch.Who believes this guy?Who even pays any attention to him?Never mind.I don`t want to know.

ThanX for watching "Bleck" (tm) so I don't have to. :-)

Oh, I almost forgot, the number of people receiving food aid is now at a record level. Not just in terms of money spent on assistance, but as a total percentage of families in the US, and now I know why. Thanks for explaining that, Glenn. I thought it was because we are in a recession and the total number of families below the poverty line is at the highest since the great depression. I thought that mal-nourishment and undernourishment rates among children less than 2 years old were skyrocketing because parents were losing their homes and had to live in their cars. I thought food banks and soup kitchens were having to turn people away because there are too many people not able to afford food, or a kitchen to cook in.

Now we know the real reason for all of these pesky facts are the government social programs that are keeping millions of people alive. It's the program's fault because in the BUSH administration they have made it TOO easy to get federal assistance. It's this damn BUSH administration that is just handing out money right and left to all the deadbeat parents in the country. If only we could convince Bush to dismantle Social Security, food stamps, Welfare, Medicare and Medicaid then we would have $54Trillion dollars to waste on Iraq.

How long are Americans going to sit idly by and allow human filth like this to walk the streets?

Glenn "Ladies - get busy - we need more white babies!" Beck.

He's TRASH.
*

I just dont get how he gets on the air. He's every dumb guy you ever met rolled into a single person.

Glenn Dreck? Happy April Fool's Day Year...

If you want tabloid answers to serious questions, The Beaver is your guy.

Note to Beaver - take your Ritalin and try not to think.

Right-wingers are so predictable it isn't even funny. They always - always - take the wrong side of every issue, the un-American, unfair, immoral side. Not sometimes. Always. Therefore it is easy to guess how Beck would respond to record oil company profits supplemented with government giveaways as consumers pay record prices at the pump. HE DEFENDS THE OIL COMPANIES! What elses can a wingnut do?

Velshi: .......He makes a lot of sense a lot of the time......

Only if your an idiot.....

Beck: When are we going to pull Big Milk to Capitol hill. When are we going to pull up Big Egg on Capitol Hill.

I bet I know the first name on the list when they decide to call "Big Dumb Asses" up to the hill....

Beck: "4 out of 5 doctors recommend Marlboros"

That's all you need to know....just another con-servative idiot getting rich off the insanely idiotic, angry white man milking express that is also known as the right wingnut noise machine....

Who does this twit blow or supply at CNN/Head and Lines Nudes to keep his job?

This was the same crap that ABC radio had on yesterday with the Irrelevant a$$hole Marc AIPAC Levin. I was "Fred from New Jersey" calling him yesterday and just screaming in the millisecond sound snippets he lets the liberal callers have, so I just screamed Fu(KING FASCIST repeatedly hoping to screw with him. He called me out on the air, and said that if I was to call him the "F" word to his face I wouldn't be around to tell about it. Well you know what you piece of shit Republitoid muddafuggas, not only will I call it to your face, you fu(king chickenhawk piece of shit, but I will shove it down your throat, and make it come out your ass. So BRING IT ON Whorporate scumbag Anti-Americans we are ready to take you profit motivated scumbags on, and kick your ass out of this country.

HELLO!!

Diesel is $4.00 a gallon; How do we get our milk and eggs? Via Diesel truck transport. The same umbrella corps. owning the oil companies are not going to eat the extra costs. It is passed on to us!!!!; We pay for the gas to get to the store and for the diesel in the tractors that get our food out of the ground and the trucks that get it into the stores.

I didn't know Beck was still on the air. Thought his fifteen minutes ended a while back. Huh.

"the joke that will never end"

Roket @ 43:

If you have the stomach for it, this is my favorite video of Glenn Beck. A friend told me that he had surgery for anal warts; however, I have neither the time nor legal background to figure out if he’s right.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX1rLv_hNeI

This is a perfect example of why so many Americans are stupid. Sure pay $40-$60/week filling my tank while my meager retirement investment might return $40 in a year. That works for me!

I now know that the complete moron, Beck, is GAY.

How big was that Easter Bunny?

Congress hauled in top executives of the five biggest U.S. oil companies to explain the price of oil. Once again our politicians in Washington DC staged a dog & pony show for the cameras. US oil companies ain't the problem; our government is the problem. Every member of Congress knows damn well the major reasons why gas prices are high. :

1. US Govt prohibits oil well drilling to tap into known domestic oil resources.
2. Lax federal govt regulations allow Wall Street oil futures speculators to artificially inflate oil prices.
3. Federal & State taxes account for over 60 cents on a gallon of gas.
3. US Govt prohibited all new oil refinery construction since 1976.
4. Rapidly advancing world economies dramatically increase global demand for refined oil products.
5. The OPEC oil cartel sets the per barrel price of crude.

6. We're still dependent on oil and the whole 19th century internal combustion energy technology nearly 30 years after we've learned that's a problem.

I have to fill up my car at least once a week to drive back and forth to work. If I do it once, it's $35.

Now, I buy a dozen eggs about every three weeks. I get Eggland's Best, so that's $1.19 (with a coupon).

I buy one gallon of milk a week. I get the store brand, so that's $3.09.

What costs me more per week on my salary?

And Beck's arguement that millions of Americans have this stock in their retirement accounts rings false. While it may be true the stock is in a mutual fund within a 401(k) or an IRA, you can't touch the money until your mid 50s. If it's in an IRA, until you're over 59. What in the hell am I supposed to do for the next 20 years, IdiotBoy?

Even at current prices, oil is by far the cheapest and most abundant source of energy currently available. Middle Eastern oil keeps pumping with no signs of a let-up. Massive oil deposits found in Siberia. Oil in virtually unlimited supply will continue well into the foreseeable future. An estimated 400 billion barrels just discovered in the Artic Ocean.
http://tinyurl.com/2van9k

CNN is such a ridiculous clownact.

Well this comes as no surprise, considering that all the rightwing corporate butt kissers like Beck, Limbaugh and others depend on corporate advertising to stay on air. But the sheer stupidity of their foolish rants, should be an embarrassment to themselves, if they had any sense of decency. Apparently they haven't. Has anyone asked Beck what the justification is to give the biggest profit makers in history tax breaks??? How could anyone justify this with a straight face? Especially, when he is always preaching about taking responsibility of ones own affairs. Why is it we are always bailing out corporations with tax money, when they make bad business decisions? Beck is just another water carrying TWIT for big business. A disgrace to his profession.
