As predicted, right wingers are lashing out at Michael Sam for going on camera and being filmed kissing his boyfriend after finding out he had been drafted by the St Louis Cardinals. If there's one thing conservatives are good at, it's projecting their Christian persecution complex and the answer for them is Tim Tebow.

Donald Trump and the Fox and Friends crew seized on this tweet by DeMarcus Walker proclaiming that poor Tim Tebow was severely mocked for being a Christian.

"We've become so politically correct in this country that the country is going to hell. We can't do anything anymore. People are afraid to talk. They're afraid to express their own thoughts," Trump told "Fox & Friends." "I guess you could say there's a double standard. It's sad."

While full of praise for Sam, Trump said he had heard people say they "thought [Sam's] display after he was chosen was inappropriate."

"I think it was great that he got chosen, and he'll be in the NFL. Hopefully, he'll make the team, and he'll be in the NFL, and he'll do well. But I did see his reaction with the birthday cake or the cake. You know, I don't know. If everyone thinks that's a wonderful thing, I guess that's fine with me. But it looked pretty out there to me," Trump told "Fox & Friends."

OK, now for some truth, Tim Tebow became a huge star for the NFL and for ESPN after he was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the first round. Other NFL players, coaches and the sports paparazzi did not attack him or demean him for being religious. Already Michael Sam is being attacked by other players around the league and in college. The NCAA allowed Tebow to write bible verses under his eyes with eye black and his jersey sold big time. The criticism that were leveled at him by NFL analysts was if he was good enough to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. After he was let go by Denver, the NY Jets signed him as a free agent and all hell broke loose within the sports media and ESPN. They had camera crews at the Jets training camp 24/7 and jet fans went nuts trying to get him to become the starter once Mark Sanchez began to falter.
