The 42 seconds was in honor of Number 42, Jackie Robinson.
Jackie Robinson, the first black man permitted to play major league baseball wore #42. His number was retired by all 30 baseball team. He's credited with integrating Baseball.
A beautiful display of good trouble by these MLB players. This is also them asserting their importance via a strike in support of racial equality, which is intersectional. Bravo gentlemen!
