eric: The problem is that dissent is being manipulated by the right to implicate the left as the ones responsible for our current problems. And unless we go after blowhards like Rush, they'll continue to spin the agenda in their favor. I imagine C+L tries to tackle these issues you addressed from time to time; but there's only so much any of us can do at the present time. The last administration not only destroyed us politically, it destroyed us economically. And that means we've been forced into a position where we're licking our wounds, rather than going on the offensive.
Though if there is a silver lining to this whole mess, it's that the majority of these fuckers who destroyed us ironically destroyed themselves in the process. They may have more money than most of us, but they can't buy relevance and credibility. Sure they can try to lobby our political and economic system back into the Stone Age, but from now on, they're going to have a tough time convincing the American Public that they know what's best for us. And each time they try, the one thing they won't be able to spin is how they're somehow more likely to be damaged than we are from "socialistic" policies, when the only reason they're still around is because of socialism. And those who argue that due process and diplomacy hurt our security will be undermined by their own need to appeal to the public to make that case. Being able to sway opinion in your favor is something money can't buy, which is why I assume C+L cares so much about this; if it doesn't remind people of the jerks who got us into this mess, we'll simply make the same mistake down the road.

How do you type words over the links so clicking on the word pulls the link instead of pasting the link itself? I always wondered how that is done.
First, find the aricle you'd like to hyperlink. I prefer to open another tab, some like to open a separate window(it works, too), but you don't have to do either.
When you find the article you'd like to hyperlink, highlight and copy everything in the url to the right of the "http://" bit. For instance, if I wanted to link this page, I'd copy:

Next, type your comment. Find the word or phrase you want to use and highlight it.
So the words in your comment should now be blue. Next, find the little chain icon between the title line and the comment box. Left click it.
A box then opens that says "Please enter the URL. Right click to the right of the bit that reads "http://", then paste what you've copied by hitting the "Control" and "V" buttons simultaneously. Then click "okay" in the little box.

benefits medicare/caid. state governments have been laying off they're looking for a way to get revenue.
most states are under pressure. there may NOT be enough money to save every program.
if they can't raise revenue with the traditional means are going to raise taxes where they can. The sin taxes, cigarettes, beer, gamblimg and strip joints are the targets. Reagan and Bush didn't lower taxes, they just passed them on to the states, counties, cities, and those that can least afford to pay them.

listened to #3. we've watching this happen in front of our eyes. workers in france are experiencing the same thing. some may misunderstand the french but they are concerned not only their livelyhood but also their culture. like here "cheap labor is becoming a bigger concern. legal/existing labor is experiencing being undercut. human trafficing is a big problem. global economics has been around for awhile but now it's much more of a reality. the financial/economic elites i believe pretend to embrace second/third world emerging countries when basically this is an environment with less/NO regulation and people that can live on a dollar a day.the imf helps with infrastructure and global corporations move in. they may be considered the winners that's debateable but the u.s. has been on the losing end. "we the people" have been taken out of the system. the big box stores,outsourcing and "cheap labor" are just a few strategies that have been used to weaken the u.s. workforce. i am pissed about this because the argument is the based on the "free market" and the cost of living will go up. that was all the hyperbole nonsense over "free trade" and "protectionism" between obama/mccain during the campaign. this has been a 30 yr. strategy with a lot of accelerating damage the last 8-10 yrs. they want the middleclass co-dependent/accepting of being in the workforce forever. it could be too late but some issues could make a difference ie. healthCare reform,surge to increase education,get china to become fair regarding their currency and pass the employee freedom choice act. there's much more.

I'm using a lot of keyboard commands lately. They can be much faster and easier than mousing around. Did you know you can scroll down the page using the spacebar (shift+space for up)? Or the down arrow moves it 5 lines at a time (up arrow too)? Or go back to the previous page using the backspace key?
Google Keyboard shortcuts for Windows and get several lists.
a Shuttle Pro V 2 from www.contourdesign.com They have 15 buttons and and a jog wheel and shuttle wheel. All of the standard functions can be reprogramed by the user.
I use them mostly for doing audio and video editing, Sonar and Vegas Pro, but they come with many other programs built in including IE.
They work great with XP and Vista.

After 3 spacewalks, the repairs are being done. Day 1 had an issue with a stuck bolt, but that was resolved and now we will have a new Main Camers 3. The #2 camera will be taken to DC. Day 2 had 3 new and 2 repaired gyros installed. Yesterday they replaced the broken Spectrograph with brain surgery on a piece of equipment that was not designed to be fixed in space. The two crew members had to remove 112 bolts and screws, replace circuit cards, test the system and replace the cover. Amazing.
It was like doing repairs in your workshop on something that had quit working and you were in your shirtsleves. They had on their spacesuits and gloves.
Another spacedwalk today.
These men and women are true heros that are not getting hardly any press for the tough work they are doing.
