Plame/Wilson taking their outing case to the supremes.

http://tpzoo.wordpress.com/2008/11/18/plame-w...

Good on em'. I think Bushco is gonna be in for some serious karma in about two months.

that many loyal Bushies are more than willing to spill their guts on January 20th. Oh baby...there are going to be some really good books on the market soon.

Ah...I love the smell of burning Bush in springtime. (sweet, sweet smile)

i've always thought treason in this scenario. i remember reading that long article j.wilson wrote about
what he did NOT find in niger. bush/cheney should be exposed and pay.these are two dirty players. good luck valerie with the supreme court.

At a time of war.

Outing an entire operation (which is the effect of what they did) which was specifically responsible for monitoring proliferation of WMD's in the Middle East is something they should be hung for.

Treason...that is the word precisely.

I recently wrote, and produced, two songs with Obama in mind. This is the one that best fits (perfectly, i think) inauguration day.

Do The Soul President

If I were KKKarl Rove, I would be looking for a new country before next year.

the turdblossom will be close behind the bush that shit him.

Paraguay anyone?

Part of Rove's contract with Faux News was that they build him his own personal panic room at Faux News headquarters, in case things get a little rough for him in the next year. hehe

You're kidding.

How can these right wing asswipes keep distorting anything that is fact. That's all we see in most of the MSM. I mean Chris Matthews asks if the government would be able to design cars better than the CEOs. I have a clue for you Chris, CEOs don't design cars, the working engineers and some of the union workers help design cars.

with the ultimate goal to break unions and ensure that all American workers are fucked in the process.

Republicans think that not loaning the auto companies money will break the unions. It could also break the republican party.

And

all the peripheral jobs related to the car makers themselves; suppliers and their downstream employees.

Goopers don't give a shit about any of that, though.

And the engineers have to put together a cost analysis before it can be put into production.

Anything they design has to fit the image the marketing wonks have designated as the next big thing. Maybe it's the marketers that need to be tossed to the curb.

personally i'm pro-union(s). my father is in the union at boeing. he's a white collar professional. he says, it's the working persons version of too big to fail. i've listening closely also. the right is taking this opportunity to blame the unions for the automakers woes. it's actually a combination of inability to compete or possibly not really wanting to compete. i've had this feeling that the u.s. auto industry was NOT concerned about building a superior vehicle. why? it was lucrative to have vehicles that didn't last and needed maintenance. auto parts is big business. just a conspriracy theory to keep you people awake.inferior product, gas prices, credit crunch,recession....there's your reasons. unions have been making concessions. don't underestimate the oil industry either. the labor agreements are just that agreements between management/corporation and labor.
it's greedy shareholders that want to build autos overseas/mexico/canada. it's interesting they want to relocate their operations to countries that have nationalized healthcare. the same healthcare they bitch about. let's be real. it's profit before people.

everyone to receive better wages and benefits. If it weren't for unions we wouldn't have near half of what we have. The republicans want to take us back 100 years where very few would have a living wage.

W/out unions, you wouldn't have weekends, vacations (such as they are), the 40-hour week/overtime, retirement accounts (such as they are), health care/coverage, comprehensive high schools (kids would start working at 10-12 yrs of age), etc.

You gotta remember though, they design cars according to the CEO's specs. Their bottom line has always been about money.

We all remember McClatchy as the one major newspaper who actually reported the lead up to the Iraq War. Well, they have a very convincing article n why a bailout of the auto industry will most likely fail. It's well worth a read:

"If an automaker doesn't have a plan to make the very difficult decision that they have to restructure, then it would be hard for anyone in this town to make that promise to taxpayers."

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/251/story/56114.html

As much as I regret to say this, I have to side with the Bush Administration's line on this one. Why they aren't for it baffles me. Maybe they're content with the trillions they've already gotten from the banking bailout?

Too bad Tweety couldn't have cared about the subject sooner. Maybe a spotlight on how the car industry is run might have helped prevent some of this mess. Other than Michael Moore, no one cared. And you know how they've tried to marginalize Moore. They portray him like he's a loon. The MSM has helped deliver that message. Has anyone in the MSM media asked Moore about the car bailout? I didn't think so.

and rips the GOP to sheds in the process - including some individual shots (e.g. Limbaugh).

Auditioning for a Cabinet spot?

it seems to me that no matter to whom and
how many pardons bush gives before he leaves
office, that these pardons will just prove that
crimes were committed that they say were not and
that these pardoned crimes are for only the USA
courts and not the international war crimes
court. looks like between a rock and a hard place.

oops, bush just slipped in that pile of shit he created.

You're making the assumption that people who have made it through the past eight years refusing to acknowledge our government has done anything wrong (other than "mismanaging" the war) would be swayed be further reality thrown in their face. Even many who accept the reality justify it by thinking it was all done with the best of intentions (the Jack Bauer defense).

At this point I can't help but think it's more self-preservation through denial than lack of information that keeps so many people from accepting this, lawmakers from pressing charges and our lame Democratic leadership from kicking his sorry @ss out of office. Just because Obama has been elected doesn't mean impeachment of Cheney and Bush isn't needed for democracy to survive intact. At that rate, add Pelosi, Reid and make it a by-partisan cleansing of corruption.

Of course, that's a lot to expect from a nation that can still listen to Ollie North on TV without retching and actually look fondly on Bush Sr. after all the death and destruction they reaped in the 80's.

Seeing how both the Mormon and Catholic Churches, their leaders and followers, had heavily campaigned for Prop 8, they have stepped into politics, no longer "Separate Church from State", and should be stripped of their tax exemptions. Squeeze them and keep squeezed them.

Tell ya, it would be one helluva way to alleviate the national debt, and create a surplus.

“I didn't intend to go after the vice president. That was not my intention,” said Guerra, who dubbed the investigation Operation Goliath. “We just followed the money, followed the corruption. It just happened that it just took us all the way to Washington.”

Blame the prosecutor.

I hope his wife isn't a CIA agent.

Joanne: It's weird that the fascists Bush picked have occasionally sided against him on certain cases, so maybe Plame might win this one.

Unlike Bill and Bush, Obama wants to actually tackle climate change. Anyone wanna bet this HBO documentary won't mention CIA involvement?

From Slate:

...If any investor could have avoided the credit catastrophe, it should have been Harvard. Harvard, the ultimate long-term investor (it's been compounding assets for more than 350 years), sports the nation's leading business school and counts a host of financial geniuses among its many distinguished alumni. But judging by one snapshot of a portion of Harvard's gigantic endowment, Harvard's recent financial performance is less than impressive...

...Much of the granular data on who manages what and how much Harvard has invested in which assets aren't publicly available. But every quarter, HMC files a 13-F form with the Securities and Exchange Commission, indicating a portion of its holdings in publicly traded securities—stocks, bonds, exchange-traded funds. The 13-F is a snapshot and is not fully representative of Harvard's overall holdings. But the chunk of the portfolio revealed in the most recent 13-F looks like it was chosen by someone who watched a few episodes of CNBC's Squawk Box and heard that the hot new investments were emerging markets, commodities, and private equity....

Bad News for Big Oil: Oil industry operatives are sweating bullets over whether the incoming Obama Administration will be keen to buy “dirty oil” from Alberta tar sands. The early news for them is not good.
Real “energy independence” has much more to do with reducing carbon emissions and avoiding shoveling billions of dollars into someone else's economy. Canada would of course enjoy the US pouring all that cash into our coffers instead, but that will not help the American trade balance much more than buying Saudi crude.

Gift to Oil Industry Rushed Into Federal Register Before Bush Leaves Office - http://www.commondreams.org/newswire/2008/11/...
Ignoring the wishes of two governors and numerous members of Congress, the Bush administration announced today final regulations for a commercial oil shale program affecting almost 2 million acres of public lands in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. These regulations lay out the rules governing royalty rates, evaluation of lease bids, mitigation requirements, and other technical and procedural elements of commercial oil shale leasing and production. "This is not the first time the Bush administration has rammed a policy through while depriving the public of their rights," said Nada Culver, senior counsel for the Wilderness Society's BLM Action Center. "Unfortunately, it probably won't be the last, either."

The never-ending Republican War on Voting continues apace, with the GOP launching new smears against Democrats and Senate candidate Al Franken for alleged voter fraud in the razor-thin race against incumbent Norm Coleman. The latest bogus rumor supported by the right-wing noise machine is the claim that missing ballots were being kept in a car by a Minnesota elections official. The real fraud, of course, involves the efforts to suppress minority and low-income voters and challenge election results by claiming widespread Democratic voter fraud.
