...my family did live in a van, down by the river... Thanksgiving 1995.

I wish it had been possible for Congressman Grayson to say more about the Fairness Doctrine. Or rather, whatever alternatives to it there may be simply because I don't think anyone in Congress including him will ever be able to get the F.D. back per se. But, prior to Reagan's deregulation of damn near everything, there were some pretty strong laws concerning monopolies in this country. I would have liked to hear him say more about that. We have to break the wingnut propaganda machine.

objective of shrinking government down to the size that it could easily be drowned in a bathtub, but they have increased the power of corporations to the point that they don't have to. Nowhere is that more obvious than in their total control of the media.

They spent $BILLIONS to acquire the once 'free' press. Consider that they bought control of the country along with it, I'd say they got a bargain.

"Freedom of the press is guaranteed only to those who own one."

Tom Tomorrow does it again. Cheney sounds a lot like Reagan circa Iran/Contra. Ahnie's fuzzy math on slashing DMV budgets. And his back-door tax plan. Get ready for another beef recall. SCOTUS doesn't care about Yemeni people. Why are only 2,500 manufacturing jobs prioritized in the "stimulus"? The Repugs try to come up with an "alternative" health bill. Goodbye, snows of Kilimanjaro. Even if the GOP wins certain races, it still loses. The SEC trusted Madoff too well.

Nah, global warming's a HOAX, I tell ya...

That sucks.

Being the coward that he is, he ran away when he couldn't intimidate her into shutting up.

I'm seriously considering the idea of making my first political campaign donation be to Vitter's oponent next year. Because Vitter is a grade-A scumbag.

And the anonymous woman in the video reminds me of a bit of one of my Aunts, and is my new hero.

Pampered politician.

make me sick. Run you Bitch, run away. Why do people vote for dip-shits like this.

Daddy made me president, even though I'm a moron!

America's downfall can be summed up in the life of one man. What a funny world we live in.

He motivates me never to drink alcohol or do cocaine, he motivates me to work harder in college and to read-read-read, and best of all, he motivates me to never vote for a Republican! Why he's a walking, talking motivation to do the exact opposite of everything he has! ;)

Keep your head up kid, cause all the good grades and degrees in the world couldn't help you survive in this brave new world. I have 3 friends with engineering degrees and no jobs.

*sigh*

Seems to be a lot of work in web design if your still hunting for a major ;) Although despite what the universities and banks who want you to be forever a slave in their debt, you don't need to learn that stuff in school if you can prove yourself otherwise. Fuck em, they can't see the future anyways.

I think he more or less actually just learned to listen to the voices of his daddy's friends, and that's about it. America's downfall personified...

will be along shortly.

Hey! i just woke up from an eight year slumber. Did Bush and Cheney really just put two hundred thousand people to death? including thousands of US military and civilian personnel?

I must still be sleeping because it looks like no one is doing anything about it...

All the blogging, corporate media coverage, all the private concerns for the so called public option and in the end this is what the shattered dream of universal healthcare ends up as. We were supposed to join the civilized world who already has a form of universal care, what a joke. In fabled america, the super rich always win over it's lowly mass of so called consumers. Don't believe the bullshit about a "land of opportunity", don't come here and help those bastards.

By Robert Parry, http://www.consortiumnews.com

When the U.S. health care debate began last spring, the insurance industry and its congressional defenders fretted over the prospect that 119 million Americans might defect from private insurance to a public option, thus devastating the business model of wealthy insurance companies.

Since then, however, the industry has won so many concessions that the threat from the surviving public option has shrunk to about five percent of its feared effect. In assessing the House leadership’s health reform bill, the Congressional Budget Office projects that only six million Americans could or would sign up for the bill’s version of the public option.

I'm up late so I found another great article on how we are being conned into believing in the "public option" meme.

M Collins: Failure by Design - the "Public" Option

piece of garbage, Grayson seems ok with it. They can expand the public option later incrementally, maybe that's their plan.

If this one saves a few million people up front, get er dun.

Repealing the antitrust exemption will help also.

about health care I'd be ok with it too.

I needed that.

It's just too awesome to overlook!

Great motivational speaker

If born into the right class even the village idiot can rise to power

As for the rest of you already born in the wrong class

You're screwed.

When I first looked at those two pictures, I thought the one on the right was Johnny Carson. Too bad Carson wasn't in his younger years when bush was President, I bet he could have done a great bush impersonation.

try to bring you back:

"Mike Rinder, who for 25 years oversaw the church's Office of Special Affairs, which handled intelligence..."

Umm, sounds like something Jesus would do??

Scary shit here.

ask why you mention Jesus in a post about Scientology? Scientology is not a Christian religion, bringing up Jesus in connection to them is on par with connecting Mohammad with Wiccans or Buddhist monks.

)O(

Wicca is plural, no need for an n nor an s.

You're pluralizing the plural of a plural.

YS

Thank you for your input, but Wicca as I understand it is the religion, a Wiccan is a follower of the religion. Or to quote Marion-Webster — Wic·can \ˈwi-kən\ adjective or noun.

And yes I do know that some do not consider Wicca to be a religion, but I do.

)O(

I'm going by the Saxon etymology the dictionaries derive from.

Wicca is male and plural, Wicce female.

So as a group I prefer to Latinize the Anglo-Saxon to Wiccae to include both.

Dictionaries also make the mistake of calling it Neo-Paganism, when actually one can be any religion or no religion, since it roughly translates to Wise. So one could also be a Christian, or Jewish Wiccae, just as one can be a Christian or Jewish scientist, mystic, philosopher, or in the lesser order of evolution

A republican politician.

You

are correct, but so am I. Both of our uses are correct, you are using the saxon/old english terminology, while I am using the newer.

)O(

At one time the dictonary also included shazbot and d'oh!

)O(

That's also why on the rare ocassion I answer anyone about my religion, I just say Witch

Or Church of Bob.

wi can.

.

or pack of Marlboros yet. Point taken.

I've barely started in on my morning fixes myself.

ETA and I agree with you that the scientology "religion" and the way they operate is scary.

Reid reassures left Lieberman on board

Sen. Joe Lieberman has reached a private understanding with Majority Leader Harry Reid that he will not block a final vote on healthcare reform, according to two sources briefed on the matter.

Although Joe will play with words - the complete lack of spine is too easy to predict.

that that will change. Unholy Joe will, of course, try to negotiate something for HIMSELF.

You're on!

Don't worry that it's not

Time to start calling you fancypants!

Anybody else sick to death of hearing about New York's 23rd District? I, for one, am saddened and disappointed that this spittle-crusted manchild even has more than the proverbial snowball-in-hell chance of being elected to anything higher than dog catcher.

Frankly I don't know where Urantian Sojourn found a picture of me but I don't appreciate them putting Bush's picture on it.
