Our county used to have a business conference every year. Now in 2010 there will be one last go around at it. The speaker list is a nauseating lineup. They just added Rudy Guiliani to the list, but they already had Cal Thomas, Karl Rove, Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Laura Bush, Lynne Cheney, and the most evil man alive...yes, of course, I'm talking about Dick C.
I dread knowing how the Bakersfield teabaggers are doing to behave...

Although Juan Perez, the gay cousin of LA's mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has been nominated for Speaker of the California Assembly, and if he makes it, will be the first openly GLBT speaker.

means only top five. That answered my question as to what you consider a major city.
I'll still stick to my answer that there has been a gay mayor elected to a major city before. Ie one in the top 30 population, a state capitol, one with two of the most respected universities etc.
Our opinions differ, thats fine.
I can now accept a research appointment overseas, since my better half just got offered a nice offer in the same place.
The sad part is, I would have never thought I was going to be happy to leave this place one year ago. Alas, life is too sort to really take it seriously, so I will get to give this old world of us one last great whirlwind tour that my wife and I were planning to do for a while, before we start thinking about kids.
In any case, that is neither here nor there. Just wanting to say good bye... there have been some great posters, and some magnificent pr*cks too.

Why does Ann Coulter insist on wearing black eyeshadow all the time? It makes her look even more ghoulish when she could get away with lighter shadows because of her coloring. Even I don't wear black shadow with my brown eyes, because it would make me look a bit hard. This only makes her even more severe looking.

own line of cosmetics. The eyeshadow could come in colors like Ghoulish Black, Tacky Light Blue, Puke Teabagger Green. Lipstick could include shades like Wingnut Whine (a wine/burgundy type color), or Blood for Oil Red, and there would be no blush, because of all the perversion in the GOP, I doubt wingnut women could even blush anyway!

In my opinion we have more than we need or should have. Although a few should be enforced more than they are. ie Using a deadly weapon in the commission of a crime I have no problem with. Or furnishing someone with one knowing that they are going to commit a crime with it.
I have no problem with laws that restrict the use of firearms against another. I do have problems with ones that restrict the ownership and carrying of such.
