what most people would call the good life. I'm on Social Security and I don't have ant extras at the end of the month. Sometimes I even come up short at the end of the month but I really feel lucky when I see a lot of people worse off than me. The Healthcare bills aren't what I thought they would be either but it is a beginning. The biggest mistake Obama made was not making it clear to congres and the senate how important the public option was. Yes, he fucked up but for everyone to rant about his involvement, you have to remember that we have 3 branches of government for a reason. The Reagon CONservatives and the corporate fascists took over the government took over the in the 80s and some of you think things are going to get back to normal in less than a year. WAKE UP AND GROW UP!
I met Peter Stormare at my first LebowskiFest in LA in March 2005, when he played with his band BFF the night Jeff Bridges played a 30 minute set including Dylan's 'The Man In Me'. That was the weekend I won my first of three "Best Walter" trophies. Carrying on the links, I saw JB's new "Crazy Heart" tonight. Thanks in part to people like these, the years since I retired have been a lot more fun and interesting than before.
So, yes, young folks, there is life even at 69. But only if you keep thinking for yourself.
“When fascism comes to America, it will come covered in teabags, riding on a Rascal and waving a cross”
How interesting. I just quoted Marge about two weeks ago, in a response I wrote to some regular C&L bloggers:
I feel like Marge Gunderson, shaking my head and sighing, "I just don't understand it..." The angst, the resentments, the sarcasm, the hate, the bigotry...when and why did all these nasty human traits become the framework within which we experience one another?!?
Frances McDormand is one of my favorite actors, and the Coens make some of the best movies in the business. Fargo remains one of my all time faves.
Love Fargo and Marge - favorite exchange:

man, and I hate people like that! " ~ Tom Lehrer (1928 - )
Looks like the whole film in on YouTube:

It's like the corporations have their own entitlement programmes now, and we know entitlement programmes are hard to take away once established.

Zeds for me. Goodnight, sleep tight!
I just came across one of the "cartoons of the year". I'm sure all around here will enjoy it, if they haven't seen it already:

Both lead to the same image, I include both in case one doesn't work.
I'm sure Franken would find this cartoon hilarious.

But I have so much fun trying to think for everybody else . . .
No small wonder I have a hard time having fun!

about all the terrible shit that goes on in the world, her line in this scene always comes to mind "...and for what? A little bit of money."
