cory booker shovels snow_e8a1a.jpg

Kudos to Newark Mayor Cory Booker, who responded to a tweet regarding a senior citizen needing help with snow removal--by going over and shoveling the snow himself. Via Intoxination.

American life for the next couple of years as we struggle mightily to escape the confining armor of the Futility Economy.

This just in - the Republi-cons are going to be kicked out of the health care bill process. I don't think DC has enough waaaambulances to treat all the whining Republi-cons who are going to be whining at the top of thier lungs this week! YAAAAAAAY!

That's pretty cool. I like the story.

I still think everyone, Neocon, rightwinger, lefties, progressives and even muslims should watch this video. 3 hours about the ideologies of the jihadists and the neocons. Both are wrong and you should watch it all. It's in 1 hour segments and was broadcast on BBC.

The Brits semi-warned us about that Nigerian guy. Blame the tax preparers, and not the cheats. Indigenous immigrants are finally being counted in the census. Looks like the phone companies managed to water down the law so stupid people could still occasionally drive with cell phones in Oregon. Childhood vaccine news. New mammogram guidelines. Griffith's staff bails on him. Not that I'd like to use that "chickens coming home to roost" analogy for the CIA, but that bomber did do a better job at hiding his cover than they did. Bernanke thinks we need more regulation. Meet the new state budgets, the same as the old ones. Workers forced to pitch in to stop a fuel leak in China. Arrests in TX over a cock-fighting ring. The sky's the limit on bailing out Fannie+Freddie! A PA zinc plant's forced to settle for polluting a river. Obama's hanged in effigy in a Georgia town. The Dems sweat out 2010.

How cool.

Maybe my son will become mayor some day. He does the same thing for our neighbors, albeit with some strong encouragement from Dad.

I always help though. We like shoveling snow. Great exercise and great to be outdoors.

WARNING: Go easy.

The underpants bomber leads right back to Cheney. See Cheney wag the dog. See Cheney pull a muscle wagging the dog.

I don't care if that was partially a stunt - that's pretty cool.

a really nice thing to do.
Let's face it, many wouldn't think of bothering...but if it was a Repub, who happened to have a wee bit of sympathy...he/she would most likely send over the hired help & then be 'glowing' with how wonderful & generous they were. I know...a scenario only...most 'R's' would be thinking, get off your lazy butt & quit complaining...be happy you have a house!

There's some sort of economic advisory conference for women in the area running commercials with the slogan, "Isn't it time for you to put your big girl panties on?"

I feel like saying, "Isn't it time for you start using big girl expressions?

How is that supposed to impress me with their professionalism? Am I the only one annoyed by that?

And I'm not even a broad.

He's indeed a rara avis...a politician who actually seems to understand what being a "public servant" and "representing the people" should really mean!

is nice, and interesting, The fact that he has been working hard and succeeding at improving the city of Newark for all of it's citizens is what we should be applauding.
