Thai-ish to me.

Howdy!

MsJoanne's picture

How are you? Good to see your pixels again. I saw you last night but it's been a while.

BTW, we are playing a word game over at TheZoo.

How many words can you get from:

R O D B L A G O J E V I C H

I have 101. Who can top that? Come play should you choose.

MountainMan23's picture

I see "GO" & "JAIL" ..

Isn't that enough?

If hyphenation is allowed, I like BAD-GOV.

No

But Liar works well.

I missed jail...how did I miss that one?!?

I have 10 words over six letters (5 are 6 letters, 3 are 7 and 2 are 8). Oh where is Peter G.??

Come on...play with me!

Peter G's picture

I just got here but saw your post about the word game and went to the zoo to check it out.e

MsJoanne's picture

Ok, that Scrabble game we discussed.

I think I need to back out. :( You'd kick my ass.

I did get 'vigor' though. (wink wink)

Peter G's picture

I would not chide you about that. I might get your goat or worse still bore you. Now how many qualifying words are in the previous sentence?

Hasa Diga Eebowai

MsJoanne's picture

in the prior two sentences excluding the I's.

Peter G's picture

You can add it to lots of words.

I might not quite rival you but if you abide by the rules and live large, I might come to adore you. I love your voice, it is like sweet carob...perhaps we can do a video to cover this hoard of words.

Now...how many did *I* come up with in that last sentence?

NY Times: Illinois Inquiry Goes Beyond Criminal Complaint

Lisa Madigan, the Illinois attorney general, denied a request on Thursday by Mr. Genson [Blago's lawyer] that his fees be financed with public money ..

In a sharply worded letter, Ann Spillane, Ms. Madigan’s chief of staff, called his request “meritless.”

“It is absurd to suggest that taxpayers must finance the defense of a criminal action against Governor Blagojevich who is accused of corruptly betraying the public trust for personal and financial gain,” Ms. Spillane wrote.

Reminiscent of the person found guilty of killing both his parents now begging mercy from the court on account of having recently become an orphan.

I was observing all the different blogs and the comments today and I have to wonder what the commenters prioriyies are. Of all the blogs, Rick Earren and Obama carried the most comments by far. A leading woman's rights activist in Iraq was killed and beheaded. There were other blogs that should be the focus of our attention but everyone seemed to be obsessed by Obama's pick for giving a short speech about faith. What are our priorities? I care about everyone's rights but it's not going to overshadow all of the other things we have to be concerned about. Where are your priorities?

MsJoanne's picture

The Warren pick is huge to the Democratic base.

It is to me.

I am trying to stay positive but there are some things that bother me greatly. The Monsanto guy was a real kick in the teeth.

I am waiting for policy decisions...but I am getting unhappy.

ron's picture

it was almost 30-1 comments on that one subject for some of the blogs.

MsJoanne's picture

It is troubling. And I agree.

Already mentioned yesterday, but the FBI engaged in war-profiteering while the U.S. refused to sign a U.N. resolution calling for the international decriminalization of homosexuality. The AG actually flip-flopped against Prop. 8, as he was originally a supporter. More importantly, one of the people mentioned in that article-who does support Prop. 8-is a guy no one's heard of, by the name of Ken Starr. I guess that also dispels any legal argument Kenny boy used to defend his witch-hunt against Clinton's affair as being about perjury, and not about his personal life.

seevee's picture

Watching that clip of Nixon berating the press, smiling all the while as he insults them, reminded me just what a nasty piece of work he was. One sick and twisted puppy that one!

ron's picture

Twice as bad.

seevee's picture

I hold Nixon and Kissenger culpable in enabling Pol Pot (and the resultent killing fields slaughter) by their illegal Cambodian bombing. Nixon was the one who really tarnished the image of the executive office and drove a wedge between the hawks and doves. We are still living with the effects of that asshole. I'm sure Cheney looked up to Nixon as a role model on how to increase and abuse executive power.

MsJoanne's picture

That is where Cheney got his presidents should have all the power and nothing should ever be written down. I remember reading that a long time ago.

gogetem's picture

...and that the president should only know as much as need be. Cheney learned that Nixon knew too much and that he needed to be shielded somewhat. That's what he's been doing with the Chimp.

LAKE TWP.: A single-prop, private airplane crashed next to a vacant house on Charolais Street Northwest Friday evening, exploding into flames and killing the pilot.

Michael Connell, 45, of Bath Township, was alone in the plane, according to State Highway Patrol Lt. Eric Sheppard.

Connell was a prominent Republican political consultant. He founded New Media Communications in Richfield, which developed campaign Web sites for Republican presidential candidate John McCain and President George W. Bush.

Parachuted to a new life in sunnier climes ?
and some random corpse now the dead pilot !
Michael Connell would have been a rather good but unwilling witness in any Congressional hearing. He knew where all the electoral vote stealing skeletons were buried.

With economy in shambles, Congress gets a raise

A crumbling economy, more than 2 million constituents who have lost their jobs this year, and congressional demands of CEOs to work for free did not convince lawmakers to freeze their own pay.

Instead, they will get a $4,700 pay increase, amounting to an additional $2.5 million that taxpayers will spend on congressional salaries

What the hell are we doing in this country.

MsJoanne's picture

That you lived in OZ. Where are you located?

And yes, that is outrageously stupid! I loved the four fingers and yellow but still human bit. Unreal.

But there was a similar proposal in the US that would have made it child pornography if an actor portrayed someone who was younger than 18 and they were in any situation even remotely pornographic.

MsJoanne's picture

The fundies got all up in arms over that movie with Dakota Fanning (I wrote a piece about it here). From what I read, the flick pretty well sucked anyway, but they went totally apeshit over it.

If I recall correctly, at least we nixed the cartoon sex thing (even further for drawn images and graphically rendered depictions of children which look lifelike...no laws broken in these cases).

curtilingus's picture

Thanks for the link. I read the piece.

European and Asian cinema do not have the same boundaries as American films. I mean, there aren't even any naked statues in America. (In the '84 olypmics the had fig leafs added to cover the private parts on the nude bronze statues at the entrance of the Los Angeles Coliseum)

Age of consent varies alot in those countries as well. So there is a lot of cultural relativity to consider (Vatican city has an age of consent of 12! that explains alot)

Whether you were for it or against it, our government didn't act in anyway pertaining to the constitution or our regular legal processes. The legislative branch said no, then the president said F you, I'll get it somewhere else. It wasn't a veto. He just got it from the TARP.

Its all coming off the same printing press.
