Well everyone that drives should be real happy now that the gas prices are dropping. Now the oil corporations are only screwing us half as much. They got what they wanted.
People are not picking up the pace and driving again. I suppose if someone gets used to public transport (or has their car repo'd) they get used to it.
Price of oil---down about 60%. Retail price to the consumer---down about 40%.
Think there might be some profiteering going on here? Oil companies seem perfectly capable of instantly passing on increases, how about decreases? Once a scumbag, always a scumbag.
With Shell and Exxon making $24 BILLION dollars in PROFITS in the first quarter of this year, while Americans were dying to afford to pay for it, yeah, fuck them hard. Relentlessly fucking them...forever.
Hehe, my family agrees MsJoanne. Here we have a special saying: Fuck them in the EAR with a PINEAPPLE covered in TABASCO SAUCE. I know it doesn't sound all that harsh on the surface....but if you REALLY think about it... ;P
Does anyone remember Lindsey Williams going on Alex Jones' show a few months back predicting oil prices were being engineered to drop to $10 a barrel? Oranutang?
These are true and actual facts you can find them in the Congressional Quarterly and Project Smart Vote records, they are a Non-partisan resource for voters
George Bush is not in the Legislative Branch, and doesn’t actually vote on laws with McCain, Obama and Biden.
Congress votes on bills and they go to the desk of the President to either be signed or vetoed.
So, if we are going to be intellectually honest, nobody is ever voting with President Bush.
The numbers we keep hearing IE;95% are based on votes where the Bush administration had taken a clear position on before the vote, as estimated by the Congressional Quarterly.
The same report from the Congressional Quarterly reveals that Obama voted “with Bush” 40 percent of the time.
Joe Biden voted “with Bush” 52 percent of the time.
It’s also important to note that these sorts of tallies can only count when a Senator votes yes or no on a law.
Obama didn’t vote over 40 percent of the time since he’s been in the Senate - that’s 228 of the 568 times he could have voted
Rather than taking a stance on issues, he voted “NV”, which means Not Voting, Excused, Absent, or Present.
Based on the Project Vote Smart records, some areas where Obama likes to avoid having an opinion:
* Abortion Issues - 75% NV
* Agriculture Issues - 86% NV
* Budget, Spending and Taxes - 54% NV
* Business and Consumers - 47% NV
* Civil Liberties and Civil Rights - 44% NV
* Defense - 29% NV
* Education - 55% NV
* Energy Issues - 35% NV
* Environmental Issues - 64% NV
* Family and Children Issues - 50% NV
* Foreign Aid and Policy Issues - 56% NV
* Gun Issues - 25% NV
* Health Issues - 67% NV
* Housing and Property Issues - 100% NV
* National Security Issues - 39% NV
* Reproductive Issues - 75% NV
* Technology and Communication - 33% NV
* Trade Issues - 38% NV
* Transportation Issues - 63% NV
* Veterans Issues - 34% NV
* Welfare and Poverty - 64% NV
* Women’s Issues - 67% NV
In 2006, founder and president Richard Kimball received a bonus of $471,994 (33% of the Project Votes Smart's annual budget in 2006), as well as a 400% increase in salary. The explanation provided for the bonus on the tax form was "This bonus was paid to compensate Richard Kimball for being the key employee and leading the organization for more than 10 years at a very low average salary between $25,000 and $35,000…His new salary is $114,314 per year." This moved caused some fervor on a blog run by a former employee.
You are entitled to your opinion but I am not required to follow it, but thanks anyway.
I just wanted to bring some facts to life that seemed to be in the dark. Do you ever hear Obama say, 'well I voted with Bush 40% of the time and Biden voted with Bush 52% of the time...I think not, but really people should know this.
you obviously know you're full of crap and there's no acceptable defense of it. all this browser real estate wasted because you insist on 'concern' trolling. get a life. beinq an intellectual red-stater is the same as being an oxyMORON.
your argument is dull.

NOW he has all the answers. mccain is trying to run from his party and the president. with the pick of Palin you have a lot
to think about.
so angry.... try using a civil conversation, it will get you further in life :)
Now as for what I have posted, I reiterate, it is factual to the core, you can look up the bills, look up how he voted,etc.. What you do with it is up to you, but there is no need for name calling etc..

WHY....doesn't mccain say well you
voted along with BUSH xx% of the time. obama is NOT trying to run from his party like mccain. provide
mccain's voting record in the same
context if your going to have an opinion about obama.
You know, I knew I would eventually see curse words coming around my way. What a shame, to think you could have used such a wide variety of words but you used these instead... Have you seen me curse at anyone? Nope, sure haven't.

Whoa...sorry, I must correct you, I am in fact a registered independent, so, sorry, I have no party affiliation. I choose to be not aligned to one or the other because each has some of what I want and some of what I don't want, so I stay neutral and vote along issues that are of concern to me.
You assume everyone here is a Dem Party loyalist. And based on what? The only issue everyone agrees on here is that McCain and Palin must be kept out of office. And that point of view spans countless parties -- yes, even Republican!
You were warned that you would get no takers here, that there were no "swing-voters" for you to pander to. You chose to ignore the warning and waste your time.
No use whining about it now, but just in case, your Whaaahmbulance is on its way!
I am neither trying to pander or convince otherwise, I brought truthful information in and I was attacked, not the other way around, so please, try something else :)
but we actually did see and HEAR McGoo proudly proclaim that he voted with Georgie more than 90% of the time - more than most of his Repug colleagues. He made those statements specifically to garner votes from the far right, and for no other reason. Buh-bye.
Obama is a first term Senator. Which means he doesn't have a very long voting record to begin with. He has spent the last 2 years running for President. A vote of "NV" includes abscences. The rules of physics make it impossible to be in 2 places at once. Are we seeing a pattern here with the whole running for President thing and not voting?
Kimball has been a cause for concern, of course. But I've followed PVS since its early years, and overall, they've done a fairly good job of keeping it non-partisan. One big problem they've had, however, is getting candidates to fill out their questionnaires. It's gotten steadily worse, as politicians have grown increasingly timid about going on record with any position or acknowledgment.
almost all members of the house and senate have a no vote recorded. obviously there are many
variables/reasoning for not voting on a bill. often the bill is has other bills attached possibly earmarks and/or nuancing that the senator doesn't agree with. there are also times when they
know the bill will pass or NOT pass, so their vote may NOT be needed. it's NOT uncommon to vote for a bill yet disagree with attached adendum(sp). these last yrs. have been interesting to say the least.
BUSH loves to use signing statements after getting legislative approval. personally i believe it's much more complicated than saying "obama likes to avoid having an opinion". i can't remember did
mccain VOTE on the new g.i. bill this past summer?
Food for thought, you forgot to list McCain's accomplishments and successes. You know, that amazing 90% support of Bush policies or how McCain's the apparent winner of supporting Vets and troops and all...
But I digress, because I know you're not a partisan hack... NO?
Senator Bernie Sanders noted this happening back in '06 as it did I believe in election cycles before.
This time the ill-timed stock market crash wasn't auspicious for the Wall Street party but again it should be noted that oil companies might be just trying to salvage their friends in politics yet again.
in other words, don't go out and buy a heavily discounted SUV just yet.

I'm getting visions of "The Dead Zone", of a nutball "president" who thinks it "destiny" to start a nuclear war.
Johnny Smith: "And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting, on the pallid bust of Palin just above my chamber door, and his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming, and the lamp light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor, and my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor, shall be lifted... nevermore."
Where's Johnny when you need him? To tell the future, I mean, not to shoot anybody.
Another spoiled, stupid son of privilege wants to finish off the conversation of America into a 3rd world dystopia begun by the Caligutard and asks an End-Timer Jesus freak to join the ticket so she can destroy the world in a paroxysm of Rapture fervor just to make give it a kicky Stephen King aspect.
I'm not from PA, so it seems like it should've been a foregone conclusion, but here's how it was explained to me by someone who lives there.
Even though PA is a "blue" state, Scranton voters have had serious doubts about Obama--as have numerous other white voters in Central PA. McCain and Palin have spent a lot of time there over the last two weeks--and, looking at their schedules, they plan to spend a lot there over the last 9 days of the campaign.
This endorsement puts a big "OBAMA" stamp on McCain's argument that he's the one who better addresses Scranton-area (and Pennsylvania) voters' concerns. It's sort of a pre-emptive strike. And from what I was told, the endorsement was never a lock, making it all the sweeter.
Getting this endorsement with over a week to go is important because it makes it that much harder for McCain to do what he'd promised to attempt--steal a "Kerry" state from Obama. When Obama returns to Pennsylvania later this week, he'll have the Scranton paper behind him--just as extra creds.
To me this part of the endorsement cuts right to the heart of the matter:
Over the course of this campaign, Mr. McCain has veered from that course in order to secure the favor of the same narrow party base against which he once rebelled. His irresponsible choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate was a cynical play to the base, a case of politics before country. Asked what her job would be as vice president, Mrs. Palin offered a reply citing a few specific tasks and revealing ignorance of the Constitution. The vice president’s real job is to be ready to be president, and Mrs. Palin does not meet that requirement. It’s one thing for her not to know it; it’s an indictment of Mr. McCain’s judgment that he has pretended not to know it.
My called me today with a story that did my heart a little good. She went to vote early in her home state of Illinois. I reflexively shrieked when she told me she had to vote on touch-screen computers. Wouldn't that just kill it all? Computer voting steals Illinois away from Obama? "Wait, wait," she implored me.
Turns out her precinct employs not just computers, but printers. Just like the ATMs the Republicans in Congress had never heard of when arguing that such technology was unavailable.
My mom was actually able to print up her ballot, and review the piece of paper that would actually be counted. Pretty cool. :)
Washington Post:
GOP Candidates Warn Voters About Perils of One-Party Rule
.. speechless ..
Eh, Republican hypocrisy is hardly surprising. Actually, I'd be speechless if they didn't make this argument. It's all they have left.
And frankly, they're just preemptively crying uncle. They're saying, "Please, please, don't treat us the way we treated you!" Everything you need to know about Republican politicians you learned in elementary school. They're the bullies who love to push people around, but are the first to cry when teachers are around, hoping the teacher will take their side. They're the ones who think they know all the rules, and make stuff up when they want to cheat.
It's not the perils of one-party rule they're worried about. It's having justice delivered.

Democratic Sen. Barack Obama reported spending $82 million on advertising during the first two weeks of October -- more than half of what Sen. John F. Kerry spent on television commercials for the entire 2004 presidential campaign.
Palin's rise captivates us but nation needs a steady hand

Alaska enters its 50th-anniversary year in the glow of an improbable and highly memorable event: the nomination of Gov. Sarah Palin as the Republican vice presidential candidate. For the first time ever, an Alaskan is making a serious bid for national office, and in doing so she brings broad attention and recognition not only to herself, but also to the state she leads.

Prices always drop when their republican employees jobs are on the line (election day). By Thanksgiving, they will be totally hosing us again.
That is exactly what will happen - if the GOP wins.

He is a Democrat, He did run against John McCain, Richard Kimball that is.

Anyway, anyone can look this up, it is public information. I did not make it up and it is not a lie, although I am sure some wish it was.
You provide the link.

You can pick an issue and find exactly how he voted on what, for instance, if you pick Abortion, He voted Yes one 1 and NV or Not voting on 3.
It's very user friendly, seems pretty useful.
Now for a little disclosure, I am just wanting to make sure people get the facts, look it up, review the records, before casting votes, that's all.
The choice is Obama or McCain. Obama is by far 1000x better than lying McCain or even more lying Palin.
No McCain, ever.
No GOP any longer, either.
Good riddance to both.
MsJoanne I had no intention of trying to change your mind, I just wanted to make sure that people received the information.
I've seen your posts. Just makin' sure people have info.
You're certainly not going to get any McCain votes here. You're wasting your time.

How about you're not wasting your time, you just are a waste of time.

But they are the only viable ones. It is one of them that will be POTUS.
First of all you need to look at t5he specifics of each bill before you throw out this propaganda Johnny too bad.
It's John, not Johnny,thanks,
as for propaganda, nope it sure isn't, you can look it up yourself, it is public information and a matter of congressional record.
As a matter of fact you can actually find what the specifics are with no trouble at all.
I don't have the time or the desire to look up every congressional record. Why did you use wikipedia which is not always accurate?
I didn't have the time to do some extensive research on Kimball at the moment but I will tomorrow to get more accurate information on him, thanks.

Why isn't he more worthless than dog vomit?
100k strong! Check out the pics.

Now I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.
Just read on a post over at TPM that the Scranton newspaper has endorsed Obama.
Don't have a link, so if anyone has confirmation...
This is a *very* good thing, if legit.
Have to take this op to say Hooray for the home team - they had a great win tonight, 10 to 2, and now they're up in the Series
3 games to 1!
Forget Joe the plumber - we've got "JOE the PITCHER!!"
Beats your Flyers. Have they won a single game since Palin dropped the ceremonial puck for them?
Heh...Palin pucks the Flyers. :D
don't care. But, it was the Flyers owner, Ed Snyder, who's the big Repug contributor and invited Miss Sarah to do the puck thing.
The real folks - the Philly fans - booed her ass off the ice!!!!
This time I think it was in Cali. I hope that team loses this season, as well.
Proof that Palin is a curse. :D
Here are Obama's Senate Accomplishments.

Here it is:

This may be very big in the coming days.
But why is this a big endorsement? With Biden being from Scranton wouldn't this be a given?
Good question.
Thanks!
To me this part of the endorsement cuts right to the heart of the matter:
When Joe Biden campaigned in Palm Beach County, Florida in September he was interviewed by one Damon Weaver, a remarkably poised and charming 5th grader. Weaver's news segment on Biden's visit is highly entertaining and worth checking out, And make sure to watch to the end, when Weaver pronounces Biden his "homeboy."

Very touching, i loved it!
How are women gonna be able to pee standing up?
I seriously think this, like George Clooney appearing on Ellen, is a serious matter the next administration is going to have to face.
That is hysterical! Now *I* can write my own name in the snow! WOOT!!!
Not as easy as you might expect.
Simply Brilliant!
All things that are truly brilliant are simple. Form follows function and this is one of the best designs i have ever seen.
I hope every woman finds out about this.
Read and share!

And badly needed.
That's good news.
verified voting, eh?
hooooodah thunkit!

Washington Post:
GOP Candidates Warn Voters About Perils of One-Party Rule
.. speechless ..
Didn't seem to bother the GOP in '02.
That's their new talking point since the are having a hard time manipulating the polls.
MountainMan23:

Obama Drowning Out McCain's Message With Massive Ad Campaign
Washington Post Staff Writers
Saturday, October 25, 2008; Page A02
Democratic Sen. Barack Obama reported spending $82 million on advertising during the first two weeks of October -- more than half of what Sen. John F. Kerry spent on television commercials for the entire 2004 presidential campaign.

Wouldn't it be cool if Alaska went for Obama--as a response to Palin?
It would be awesome if McCain lost his own state!!!
