Who knew Fox News Sunday mashes up so well with Monty Python? (via yours truly) It's always a trip to see what Jon Kyl gets away with on Fox News Sunday. That said, I'm looking forward even more to seeing what everyone else will NOT get away with on Meet The Press, given that Rachel Maddow is on the panel this morning:

So who will be the first this morning to declare they are not going to watch the shows and the whole thing is a waste of time? Who will be the first to speak of the corporate masters?
Yeah, I'll watch some of the shows as I play with Martini. If we get bored we'll switch to Animal Planet.

Actually, you get the BA while you are still in school. Two years later, you can get your LL-B.

My dog finally got a road trip, albeit stuck in the car most of the time. Tried to get some of the east-coast audio of the Sunday dreck on the Sirius radio in the rent-a-racer, but there are just too many GD channels to try to hunt through while avoiding being hit by the guy next to me on the 405 who's texting...
So by the time this stuff comes on, I'll probably join my dog in sleeping through the morning. Have fun, all...

After putting up "numbers" that portray AZ as having an immigration problem that is out-of-control ("500,000 immigrants". "Kidnapping capitol of the world" -iirc), Wallace repeats a figure that the 1200 extra NG troops is "Less than 1 soldier per mile".
Axelrod does a lousy job (as usual) defending the point, because all those troops aren't being spread out evenly all along the border.
Then Kyl comes on. Wallace "challenges" him that "Hasn't this president done more" on border security?

Is this blog hosted in someones basement too? The video editing on this site is amateur at best, and at worst is embarrassing. If you are going to mash up videos, lesson #1 is learning how to control the audio levels between tracks.
What I just heard goes from almost silent in the FOX clip, to almost deafening in some of the added in audio bits.
There was a point where I enjoyed visiting here, but not so much anymore. From horrible video edits, to technical problems with the site itself, and worst of all is that some of the blog post authors have gone from insightful to downright devoid of thought at times, with no more substance than childish taunts.
Sad to see what this site has become.

Perhaps you could just email your problems and concerns to the site without insulting the site and posters in a comment. What this has to do with the screen name I chose, I have no idea.

Oh Patricia thanks for engaging this guy but sometimes there is no point. Your thoughts about the subject matter and your thoughts in general are always worth a read but try not to get into it with people who.... oh never mind. Better you than me. lol.
I was typing, so I'll have to go back and review the tape, but Wallace an Axelrod had an exchange of recess-appointed "Berwick" running Medicare, cherry-picking quotes of him praising "the British System".

The host on ABC did the same thing to Axelrod. He jumped down his throat and talked over him. I wonder if Wallace and this guy wrote their questions together. I bet Axelrod and Gibbs will be glad when this day is over. The guy on ABC didn't resort to any quotes he just went all crazy over the timing of the appt.

Who was the guy on This Week? Not Jake Trapper? He usually is not that bad. I will also say that the reason for this recess appt is one of the best there has ever been. The Republicans would have stalled and stalled and stalled not matter who Obama appointed and it is an important position. So fuck the Republicans on this.

Wallace asks Kyl, while they are refusing to extend unemployment benefits because they aren't "paid for", how does he defend "tax cuts for the rich, which would cost us $650B? "If you are insisting Unemployment be paid for, how do you pay for a $650B tax cut?"
During the exchange, I thought I heard Kyl defend a "10% tax bracket for the poor who currently pay NO taxes" while defending tax cuts for the rich.

Netanyahu included Iraq in his examples of "nations that are violating the nuclear non-proliferation treaty: Iran, Iraq and Pakistan".

In defending that botched Gaza cargo ship raid last April, Netanyahu says he visited soldiers wounded in the raid. In suggesting the Turks were not peaceful, Netanyahu notes "one of them [Israeli soldiers] was shot"... only later to note the soldiers were "clubbed, some of them were stabbed... one man had his gun wrestled away from him and he was shot with his own gun."
So the lesson here is that unarmed Turks can't be trusted not to shoot you with your own gun.

Following Bill Kristol saying, "extending the Bush tax cuts is not enough of an economic policy" for Republicans to win back Congress in November, Juan Williams asks, "What does the GOP stand for other than opposition to Obama's agenda?"
Wallace gives Hume "45 seconds to give an answer". Hume agrees with Kristol that "tax cuts aren't enough", but I never heard him suggest a policy that Republicans were "for" that wasn't simply in response to an Obama policy.

That's good to know. I cringed when I read Harold was going to be on the teevee this morning. "He's the Dem representative?" says 'e. "Nar, 'e's the DINO representative, planted in the Dem party," says I.

After playing a clip of AZ gov Brewer claiming that "a majority of the illegal immigrants coming here are involved in the drug trade", Taper says flat out, "That's not true". Then challenges Bilbray on whether he believes it too.
Bilbray responds, to which Tapper interjects, "That's not true either." :)

Jesus Chisto I open up C+L and it is jammed with stuff that is incredible. On Sunday morning no less. What the hell is going on???
I was going to say right off the Howard Kurtz is a moron but compared to the other stuff happening on C+L I don't think I will bother. I got me some catchen up to do. I'll be back in a little while.
This Sunday portion of C+L has already paid dividends. I would not have known that Rachel Maddow was on Meet the David Gregory and I would not have watched because I get plenty of Mike Wallace's son on Fox News Sunday.
I thought he had a 'lifetime contract' to appear on Sunday morning!!! / snark off
