my email about HR 1283, the Military Readiness Enhancement Act.

He danced around through out the email and never said whether he's onboard to repeal DADT. The letter only said that he would take my views into consideration. Mom figures it's Costa's Catholicism getting in the way of doing the right thing. It's exactly what happened with him and the Stupak Amendment.

I hope there's a good Dem or Green challenger going against him when he's next up for election.

He's a good Congressman in many ways, but I am still angry about Stupak and this doesn't look good either.

Little Johny America has a rounded $12,000,000,000,000 in debt on his credit cards as a result of deficit spending. Johny's fiscal 2010 deficit spending to date by month is as follows:

Jan 10 $18,856,851,343.86
Dec 09 $104,631,821,540.22
Nov 09 $17,928,110,784.85
Oct 09 $22,831,444,696.60
http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/ir...

Question 1
If you add all 4 months of current deficit spending to the rounded credit card debt what is Johny's total credit card debt as of today?

Question 2
Johny has decided his credit card bill is high if Johny wanted to pay off his credit card over the next 100 years at 0% interest rate (LMAO! That's funny) How much would Johny need to pay each fiscal year to be debt free?

Answer Key
Answer to question 1) $12,164,248,228,365.53 (thats trillion)
Answer to question 2) $121,642,482,283.66

Does anyone here think we are going to reduce our spending to the point where we will be $121 billion in the black every year (to just break even) over the next 100 years? (HINT: We haven't even paid off the Vietnam War yet.)

Does anyone here think we are going to get zero percent interest on national debt? Answer: Not a chance in Heaven, Hell, or Earth.

Goodnight, Frau Blücher

Susan J.'s picture

Why don't we do what the banks do? Just write 121 billion on a piece of paper and pay it.

In the "Goldman Sachs 'predicts' Japan next to collapse" clip, the Goldman Sachs guy says he expects the Euro to continue to drop to 1.20 Euro to the US dollar.

The Euro is currently at a 9 month low - 1.35 to the dollar - and has already fallen from 1.45 to 1.35 in just the last 60 days.

What's truly interesting about that report is the way they refer to the "crisis in the euro" as if it was something that just happened, when the truth is Goldman Sachs had a hand in creating the crisis, and has now shorted the Euro with intent to profit from the crisis.

Much as they both sold mortgage security swaps and simultaneously held a short position when they KNEW what they were doing on the front end was fraudulent, or at least devious, and certain to collapse, now they've played the European Union as well.

In AlJazeera's Inside Story - Greece's financial turmoil the three guest experts have very different views, except they all agree on one thing: there should be a criminal investigation and people should go to jail. Max Keiser is as always informative and entertaining!

in the MSM about the slam dunk of the democrats and Obama over the republicans about the summit but I'm glad that C&L is doing some digging into it.

but Obama was clearly in his element, and the 'Thugs were b*thches in so many ways. NO ONE that I heard gave the president any credit for how well (I thought) he handled his classroom, composed largely of (R)*tards. Of course, that was to be expected, wasn't it.

No,

it was set up for them to come to bring in solutions on how they could come to agreement and they brought in talking points and said, " Start over."

is that I watched the whole thing except for about 10 minutes and the conclusion that Obama and the democrats came out as losers is completely false.

MountainMan23's picture

I watched a lot of it too - tho not as much as you, ron.

And my conclusion was the same.

Obama and the Dems knocked down one talking point and misrepresentation after another. And Obama pointed out "points of agreement" where Republicans had supported or proposed measures that are in fact incorporated in the current bill.

So I'd definitely give the strong win to the Dems, if we're scoring a debate.

BUT .. if the goal of the summit was to change some Republican minds, or get them to pledge to support measures they had in the past favored or proposed, then I can see the point being made that the summit was a failure.

But I (and 99% of the C&L posters) coulda told ya before the summit started that the R's weren't gonna budge an inch.

I'm just really pissed about how the MSM has covered it or better, how they haven't covered it. Many, as we have seen, claim that Obama and the dems lost the argument. Of course we all know that it's a far left media, "NOT."

(probably not many took the time), but It should have been clear to most people who handled themselves as adults throughout. How anyone could watch and digest the thing as a 'Thug "victory" is beyond me.

Of course, if you expected to get an accurate synopsis from ABCBSNBCNN_Fux, well, their corporate sponsors didn't pick up your cable bill or bar tab, did they?

could have an impact.

Augdir's picture

I started watching the beginning on CNN, until Wolf decided to cut from the coverage and ask David Gergan how well he thought the republicans were doing. Flipped over to MSNBC and saw them do pretty much the same thing with Pat Buchanan, as if there is anyone on the planet who couldn't guess what these two fucks would say about how they thought the republicans were doing! Online was the only way to see it, wasn't on unedited on any cable channel in our service. CSPAN was televising some other topic.

The comments on several forums were, however, promising. There were quite a few callers during the intermission to the online CSPAN covereage, who said they were republicans that were pissed off at how the republicans were acting through out the proceedings. Anyone (who is not mental) could see the dems were obviously being accomodating (they're responses to the republicans asking for things such as tax breaks and tort reform reminded me of the old Prego speghetti sauce commercial slogan 'Its In There!'). Yet the repubs still expect more, even though they're the minority party.

Smackdowns of the repub bullshit were in abundance. The highlights of the day (to me) seemd to be the President on McCain campaigning during the proceeding, Becerra on Ryan's mudslinging of the CBO, Durbin on Coburn (and others) on tort reform/malpractice, and Charlie Rangel poinbting out to all on the other side that their use of 'Americans', applying to only those on their side of politics, is a lie.

completely loads? It may be just my weak signal, and it doesn't happen on individual threads, but the little "wheel" (Firefox tab) has never stopped spinning for the last two days for me. Response times otherwise seem normal. Weird.
