Ed Schultz held no punches back when he went after Hugh Hewitt's idiotic call for a national boycott of all GM and Chrysler cars because he calls them "socialist companies."

A pair of right-wing radio hosts says there's only one choice for conservatives angry about government involvement in the auto industry: Boycott GM. "Nobody wants to support an Obama company," Rush Limbaugh told his audience Friday, citing a poll showing that 17 percent of Americans backed a boycott of GM.

"Every dollar spent with GM is a dollar spent against free enterprise," conservative talker Hugh Hewitt wrote online last week.
"While it's not surprising that Rush Limbaugh would root for the failure of a national institution for partisan political gain, it is surprising that the other so-called leaders of the Republican party are silently going along with him given how many hard working Americans rely on GM for a living," said DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan.

So far, there is little evidence that the government's involvement is turning off buyers. In bankruptcy for the entire month of May, Chrysler had its best sales month of the year.

Ed hits the Grassley nail on the head. Why are Hugh Hewitt and Rush Limbaugh trying to destroy the American automotive industry? What about the families that need these jobs to survive? Will Hewitt and Limbaugh support all the families this child like boycott could affect?
Schultz is calling for a boycott of the Salem radio network.

Ed: Conservatives, are you out of your mind? Do you know how many Americans have lost their jobs in manufacturing? Do you know how many American families are being affected, their livelihoods are being drilled because of this recession and what do they do, they push back on the American families that are doing the absolute best they can to build a great product...
What do you say we just kick the American worker in the teeth. What do you say we just give all the money to Wall Street. Let's just take their health care, let's take their education, let's take their jobs. Let's just genuflect to the Hugh Hewitts of the world.

We know where Hewitt's heart resides. His love of CEOs and fat cats that prey on the working class to finance their palaces. And the media slobbers over Hewitt every time he writes a mindless book, but we never see a liberal on TV who releases one. Where's Will Bunch, where's Eric Boehlert, where's David Neiwert? All three have excellent books just release, but they are almost no where to be found on cable news. Why the silence of liberals? Anyway, it was good that Ed kicked Hugh in the head today.

Todays GOP...making themselves irrelevant every day!

.........and it also proves that Conservatives/Republicans don't care about working families and the common man/woman.

the republicans are NOT conservative. they are trying very hard to resurrect that adjective/name. we shouldn't give it to them in my opinion. it equals good linguistics to people. it equates to lower taxes and efficiency.

So who's the fascist company?

Volkswagen, obviously!

HA!

It's obviously Ikea!

Look into the eye's of a republican and see his heart?
No they don't have a heart or a mind.
They are just selfish greedy bastards.
republicanism is a mental illness.
That is something you can see in their eye's!

My mother had schizophrenia. Sometimes she didn't take her meds and the delusions, suspicions, fear, and self-loathing would surface. So close to the right wing rantations, I had to concur with your observation.

Bi-polar disorder, but anyway, I agree with the both of you.

I love psychology talk. Schizophrenia and Bi-polar (manic-depression) are not the same thing. Bipoplar is a situation of moods (very up, hyper, manic, possibly delusional, and then deep, deep depression). Schizophrenic is a whole other animal. A crazy one. My grandmother wasn't diagnosed as schizophrenic, but would have times when she was paranoid and would imagine things and think they were 100% true. I have a dear friend with a schizophrenic dad and he used to think that she, the child, was a spy sent by the government to spy on him. Schizophrenic is just another word for BATSHIT.

I know a lot of progressives don't like/trust Ed, but I like the guy. He can pose progressive positions that make sense to blue-collar folks who distrust "Northeastern elites."

I don't always agree with him, but that's the case with lots of progressive broadcasters/bloggers.

Good on 'im for calling Hewitt to the carpet.

My grandfather (83) has been pulled into a bit too much right wing rhetoric lately (the local paper is strongly biased) and recently he's been saying things are "socialism!" I plan to start watching Ed at his house to kind of guide him back into the truth. He loves that 'good old boy' schtick.

the problem is the messenger. he's too rush-like and sam sedar is infinitely better...

That's my point: while I think Sam Seder is great, his style won't win over many middle-of-the-road types. Ed's style may, since it's more familiar and less threatening to these same types.

I love Schultz...sure, he may not fit everyone's level of articulation, but he's a fighter and takes no shit from those lying mother fuckers. How often does that phony ass elitist bigot Lou Dobbs holds town hall meetings to discuss actual working man's issues? Schultz is everything Dobbs claims to be.

No, he is not my favorite, but I love the way he can comfortably relate to a segment of moderates and independents (not to mention confused fence sitters who might vote) with his blue collar style and talk their lanquage. He can explain liberal policies and logic in a natural manner that connects with this important segment. He helps expand the electorate for liberal candidates. He helps folks see how liberal policies are in their self interests so they are less likely to vote against their self interest. We need Ed as well as Sam Seder (ya, Sam is great!).

poll republicans. ask them if they recall the senate voted against a automaker bailout but BUSH decided to keep the automakers afloat in december 2008. BUSH passed it on to president obama to decide their fate. the republicans want to distance themselves from this fact. the "free marketers" used TARP money to bailout automakers. they started it.

this:

What do you say we just kick the American worker in the teeth. What do you say we just give all the money to Wall Street. Let's just take their health care, let's take their education, let's take their jobs. Let's just genuflect to the Hugh Hewitt's of the world.

Conservatives don't get irony, satire or sarcasm.

When Ed says, "let's just genuflect..." conservatives start nodding their heads like a bobblehead glued to a paint mixer.

The American conservative is a creature with a sense of entitlement that is far too great for them to understand that they really haven't earned any genuglects and that those types of privledge need to be earned in the first place.

Last night on Hardball, Chris Matthews had as his guests Heidi Harris, right wing radio nut, and Michael Smerconish. Harris also was pushing the boycott GM thing.

Smerconish pointed out that the 17% of people who are in favor of a boycott is within the "margin of error" of those who say they are Republicans!

Idiots...anything to hurt Obama and this country. How these jerks hate America!!!! It's dumbfounding.

It is pure insanity. If you don't wear a lapel flag pin you are unAmerican. If you try to bring down a company that is directly responsible for employing over a million people because you simply do not like the President that is OK? This Heidi person is an America hater as well.

No Brains, no patriotism, non American.

I saw this yesterday and Schultz was PISSED OFF!!!! What he said was exactly true. I assume it on the video here but I can't download it right now. I would hope that every Democrat and left wing blog gets on this story. The other good thing is that I saw that MSNBC replayed this at least once this morning.

I kinda imagined that maybe when GM came out of bankruptcy a patriotic sentiment may sweep over the country and people would be lining up to buy GM cars in an effort to help everyone.

Ok, maybe not, but still the last thing I imagined is that anyone would call for a boycott, thats INSANE!

Harry that is not so far off the mark. If these assholes were PATRIOTIC at all they would be recommending that people buy their next auto from GM or at lest give them a good look before they buy elsewhere. It is to help the god damn country for crying out loud. These sons of bitches are trying to destroy it even more than Bush did. It is insane. What are Joe Sixpack and Betty Winebox going to think when they get wind of this. I sure hope they will remember this when they vote next time.

...when he said he hoped Obama failed. But yeah, this could spell his doom.

..I had an opportunity to drive a Chevy Cobalt. It was a nice little car and may just be my next one.

good mileage too.

purchased a Chevy HHR. Get's decent gas mileage, but needs some tweaking. Would definitely buy another.

those thing are hideous!
then again...so are the PT cruisers GM so blatantly ripped off.

Ha, it's even purple. I swore I would never drive anything purple, so much for that. It actually works well for our family and has been a pretty good vehicle. Our daughter is driving it now. I'm going to get myself something a little more luxurious.

... maybe that will lead to me having to deal with fewer republicans and their suburbans (given the percentage of bumper stickers attached to their cars which I have had the "pleasure" of reading when stuck in traffic) driving like idiots on my way to work.

"Why is Hugh Hewitt and Rush Limbaugh trying to destroy the American automotive industry? "

Because.They.Are.Idiots!

Rush et al are straight traitors. They have no problem sending this country to hell if we dare not following their orders or comply with their crazy schemes/wishes.

They are truly psychotic... hopefully, enough people can finally come to that realization and the republican party can go the way of the Dodo already.

At this point they seem to be openly advocating for the economic downfall of the country. I wouldn't call it treason since its not illegal, but they certainly seem to be more aligned with al-queda, than with america.

recall anytime that the rightwing neocon nazi fascist coporatists have come up with a common sense solution to solve America's problems?
.
.
.
Crickets.

.
.
.
.
crickets

Crickets.

They are trying to bring down the country. That is treason in my book. Another thing is that not all GMs problems are their own making. Every damn auto company in the world are in dire straights and that is because of the Bush policies over that last 8 years. Sure GM made some very stupid decisions and the auto workers have a little blame but it is the economy that was the nail in the coffin. The Bush economy.

..are most assuredly their problems and the problem of former administrations who didn't up the MPG ratings or start major development of hybrid and electric vehicles.
Consider where we'd be if after the first arab oil embargo we had started development of this technology. If you had half a brain, you knew that trouble was brewing when the hero of the right-wing conservative movement, Saint Ronnie took Jimmy Carter's solar panels off the roof of the White House. I wouldn't mind seeing them put back and maybe a windmill on the mall.

..if the Limpbaugh's and Hewitt's were in charge? I not sure but I don't usually measure time in Nanoseconds.

Heck it took these "fiscally responsible" blow hards to double in less than 1 decade, the debt accrued by this nation since its founding.

These assholes could not manage a nacho stand at a NASCAR event, much less a whole country.

These rich neocons wouldn't be caught dead at a NASCAR event - unless they were being handsomely paid to show up and give an anti-Obama speech.

Newt is not a citizen of the world. This Hewlett freak wants to put over 1,000,000 people out of work and screw-over the American people by destroying our invest to jump start the economy that Bush destroyed. Except for the 21% who say they are Republicans the entire United States are going to flush the Republican party and their mouth pieces down the toilet.

So the right has moved beyond hoping Obama fails to actively working to insure he will fail no matter who gets trampled in the process. Nice work guys. You're real heroes. I assume you also boycott the oil companies that pay dividends to the citizens of Alaska, right?

it's hard to perspective on the lives of adult working people when you've lived in your mother's basement your whole life.

)O(

How about Hugh Hewitt boycott his local fire department or EMS or police? How about he forgo Social Security or Medicare when he needs it? I love all the wingnuts who complain about socialist government handouts, saying -- I've always managed on my own!! and then it turns out they lived on food stamps at some point.

by a diehard libertarian.... who was on... wait for it: disability. Their logical dissonance is glorious.

craig t nelson:

"What happened to society? I go into business, I don't make it, I go bankrupt. I've been on food stamps and welfare, did anybody help me out? No. No. They gave me hope, they gave me encouragement, and they gave me a vision."

friggin idgits

If only Hugh Hewitt would boycott oxygen.

What an idiot. Hell, the GOP fundies already own much of the southern vote where the "foreign" cars are built, why piss off Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, NY and Florida auto workers?

Yet another candidate for the leader of the GOP. A nasty, dunderheaded, reactionary, fundie moron. (Is there any other kind?)

the republicans in the name of corporations/financial elites want to rid/destroy union labor. they don't want union labor to get a global voice. that way union labor will be unable to have a say in international contracts/membership. automakers/other industries just want to find countries that will provide "cheap labor" and infrastructure. profit margin is much more important than loyalty/patriotism. they know that's why they claim patriotism. that's a defense mechanism. when (r)'s talk i always look for my contrarian hat.
their party is smaller and basically represents corporations/special interests. so they're deceptive otherwise their party would get smaller and that's now happening. the republicans are deperate for party identity. BUSH started the automaker bailout.

welcome to the limbaugh wing of the democratic party.
calling people who disagree unamerican, denying your opposition not only the right to disagree but even disputing their good intentions.

it's unbelievable that a party and the progressive movement in general can deploy such tactics after such a short time of being subject to those tactics themselves and complaining about it.

this guy is your rush limbaugh now, huh?

Do you like having a job? Would you not be offended if someone made a move that threatened your livelihood?

Please don't lecture anyone here on how to behave. Also, I don't know about anyone else here, but I don't follow anyone blindly. Comparing agreement w/Schultz on this is hardly akin to the blind submission that the Ditto Head's practice.

Top of the morning to you. May your red herrings be as fragrant and putrid as the ones your ancestors brought forth.

I can see you have a specially strong gift for intellectual dishonesty, you will surely make your elders proud. Godspeed little chap, godspeed!

until you're on the other side of the argument.
in the meantime, so continues the dance between two sides of the same party.

bush bails companies out to save the free market, obama bails companies out to save the worker.
bush fights wars to get rid of evil dictators, obama fights wars to ensure stability in the middle east.
bush runs huge deficits to grow the economy, obama runs huge deficits stimulate the economy.

"change" you can believe in.

Bullshit.
Bush bailed out companies to put money in their pockets or to save the economy that he ruined. And what is wrong with saving jobs when the economy is almost destroyed. Do you think that Obama would have poured money into this thing if the economy was not in shambles?
Bush did not run huge deficits to grow the economy. He ran huge deficits to give his friend's companies huge amounts of money. He ran huge deficits to overthrow a dictator that kept Iraq stabilized and to seek revenge on said dictator because he wanted to show up his daddy. Bush was planning on invading Iraq during his first month in office, Idiot. Take your talking point elsewhere.

that's exactly what republicans don't want to hear the BUSH legacy. BUSH, against what the senate decided bailed out the automakers. just enough to keep them afloat.then handed to Obama. the stock market had that bailout factored in the market prices/outlook. if Obama
did something different like refuse the automakers/suppliers the market would have been hit hard. CONfidence would have dropped big time. that confidence drop would have had an impact on other sectors of the market. a continuation of the bailout by obama after
started by BUSH was sensible.

you're right. republicans are in no position to criticize obama, because they started all this.
how can you criticize obama if he hardly changed anything from when you were running the show.

He should have removed all troops from foreign deployment; fixed the financial mess the previous crooks cultivated over a very long time; clamped down on the Wall Street crowd; created and passed legislation that would solve the healthcare crisis; removed the influence of lobbyists; cured baldness and impotence as well as AIDS; etc, etc,...... All in a scant five and one-half months. You're right, considering how fast things move in D.C.

running in the wrong direction won't bring you to the finish line.

I thought he was running lockstep w/Bush?

i'm not preoccupied with being right. it's a fact. your obviously blind to the differences that obama has brought to the table. my point is the BUSH legacy
brought obama hard decisions with very few possibilites. the republicans can criticize all they want but it has little meaning to me. it's based on politics/lack of party identity. that's the (r) strategy to define their party on what obama does or does NOT do. even though many NOT all of these issues were handed to him by BUSH and 6 yrs of (r) congress. so don't try patronize my comments. so far your comments have offered little creativity/nuance.

I'm going to patronize your comments again, by saying that's you're right again that there are some hard choices to make because of the mess obama inherited.
that just doesn't change the fact that there need to be some right choices, even if they're hard to make.

this fiscal and monetary policy will haunt us for years and maybe decades to come.

)O(

There's been some speculation about the links between the American Liberty League and Libertarians.

I guess you can say the former wanted it ALL,

But I won't.

ok you're the intellect what was/is the absolute remember absolute correct way to have managed the automaker and supplier industry than how obama did? recall BUSH started the automaker bailout process and the stock market had that expectation baked in the market if you will. go beyond idealism for me. tell me/us what the "right choice" would be. just some things to consider:(1) collateral economic damage not only here but internationally and (2) the potential unknown impact on consumer/market confidence.

watch yesterday's daily show

Friedmanism will haunt us for decades...we are presently into the third decade and counting.

"this fiscal and monetary policy will haunt us for years and maybe decades to come."

You know this how? Because Sarah Palin said it or did you learn from an economist? I say this because virtually every economist I heard last spring said the same thing and that was that the government needed to spend boatloads of money to get us out of this recession that Bushenomics got us into.

yeah, because when you're disagreeing with keynesian economics, your only influence could be sarah palin, right?

for whom did you vote?

obama. lesser of 2 evils.

And your "they're all the same turds in the toilet" is a right wing talking point when all else fails.

Fuck off troll.

)O(

Sounds also like Paulists

Not that that's much of a distinction

Since their reichwing too.

Thanks for answering my question, I'm going to assume it was done so honestly. I have another, are you generally impatient? Do you sincerely believe that the horrific and breathtaking mess that he was left could possibly been cleaned up by now?

your red herrings are glorious indeed... I just wasted a whole bottle of febreeze trying to get rid of the smell.

)O(

Every morning I spray that on my crotch.

it was for things like your couch?

Wow...you really don't have a clue how ridiculous that post is do ya there sparky?
You're wrong on every single "point"...ah wow..the GOP will be the permanent minority thanks to folks like you sunshine...
Keep up the good work.

There not so bad if you sautee them first with pickled onions.

... alas, if you are going to add pickled onion to the mix, I assume you are cooking in a well ventilated area?

Relative...
You are WRONG here. There is nothing good about boycotting a company that employs 1,000,000 people for the sole reason to bring it down and unemploy the same people and destroy the investment the people of the United States have in the company to survive. That is UNAmericnan asshole!!!!!

You're correct, but you won't convince relative.

Troll-feeding doesn't make them less hungry.......

I wasn't saying you should boycott GM or chrysler.
I doubt they'll make good enough products to be selfsustaining until there's a real bankruptcy, but I see no reason to boycott them.

on the other hand, if you disagree with me, I won't call you unamerican or a traitor.

ergo you get to call them "unamerican" via proxy without having to own to it.

Plausible deniability, the favorite play of the right... LOL.

so by comparing two people who behave similar I somehow embrace what they're saying.
now THAT's some fucked up logic.

says who? you i take it. many have already said obama is more curious than. many have said that obama gives others a chance to speak. many have said obama is much more confident with himself and others. BUSH the authoritarian. Obama the centrist with
intentions of compromise and restoring "we the people". the devil is in the details. your argument and position statement(s) are weak/black and white. of course you can have your opinion or maybe it's your 15 minutes of fame. whatever buts old stuff . we don't buy it. why? because there's NOthing to buy.

actually I was talking about ed schulz and limbaugh.
I wouldn't say obama behaves similar to bush.

... again.

Your original comparison was intellectually dishonest at best, ergo my calling you out.

Your constant tangential arguments are proving me correct in that respect. Whether you intended it or not, you were trying to get away with blaming other people via the comparison proxy. In other words, you want to have it both ways...

How about if I call you sweetie-pie?

are a major problem Mr. Ed needs to address before he goes calling law professors names.

No one here walks in lock step with Schultz, asshat. Ed's right on this one. Conservatives have never gave a shit about anything but money and the old white man's power structure.

No one is denying the opposition the right to disagree...that would be unamerican. I love it when the oposition takes such idiotic stands as it really shrinks their tent while growing our's larger. I love it when right wing talk radio kicks the old Regan democrats in the head and shows them where their true interests really will be protected and supported. So, you go boy!...I am loving it.

the workers in these companies are listening to the crap that these chicken-shit traitors are spewing. Something tells me that more than a few of them probably tune in to these worthless turds. I can't stand entitled assholes who call for moves that will eliminate jobs. How about we just take back our airwaves from those spewing and promoting hate speech and put these traitors out on the street?

For years I have been picking on the conservative "American Family Association" for boycotting Ford. (Apparently Ford advertised in a gay magazine) So, if one were to be a good conservative, one should now boycott all American cars?

It must be easy being a conservative anti-American.

The tripe coming from both sides of the spectrum is getting ubsurd. These idiots pick over the pathetic minutae each other says, meanwhile your country goes into the shitter.

Good to see all the commenters with 69 in their name. Keep it up!

69?

Does this "69" mean something other than the old standard? Forgive my ignorance on this, just curious. Thanks.

Yes. I think. If what you are thinking is what I'm thinking, then yes.

the year I was born. Don't know about these others.

Ah,

I love the smell of foreign smugness.

Aw. Respect foreign opinions, especially our friends to the North. Its not like we have been getting much right lately.

It's interesting being lectured by nations that stand by and
watch, all the while using a tool, i.e. the internet, that was largely developed and funded by the U.S.

That wasn't an opinion, that was gloating, there is a difference.

Who brought you Hockey, A grade pot, and excellent beer?

And yes we have a say in lecturing the good ol' US of A because your economy and politics affects us to NumbNuts.

That's not foreign smugness that was the truth.

Ha ha here here.

and left commentariat in this country are capable of manufacturing
outrage very well, but not very good at manufacturing effective boycotts. They try all the time though.

Crooks and Liars won't load for me anymore. Just the topmost thread and a whole lot of empty white space below that. Not having problems anywhere else on the web.

It seems to be taking longer and longer, regardless of internet speed. I'm using firefox.

It's good to know that it isn't just me experiencing this

Ever since they went to the new video format, going from page to page has been exceedingly slow, i.e. it's much quicker for me to go to the C&L home page from Video Cafe than it is to hit the "back" button.

Not being a computer type, I don't know whether it's my equipment, etc., or not.

Margaret, did you break the internet??? I sure hope not.

Same here today. And yesterday afternoon too.

i, too, am having that issue, and only w/C&L....

for me too! Is it another neo-con terror attack?

No it's Clinton's fault, dummy! (Didn't you get the talking points?)

...buy American anyway? Remember...these are the butt heads with the bucks...or they think they want to be LIKE the butt heads with the bucks...so they follow the flock.

I think it's time to shout loud and long about just how absurd these reich wing nut cakes are....how UNAmerican they are and have been since the beginning.

Call them OUT of their holes. Expose these pathetic parasites out of their safety zone...and expose them for the anti-American talk they spew 24/7.

I think the buttheads with the bucks don't listen to these asshats. The buttheads with the bucks are too busy trying to make the next million$$$. It's the wannabes and never will-bees who listen to these idiots hoping to be just like them.

I think that Schultz deserves a lot of credit here. He was really angry at these assholes. I'm not sure that I have ever seen a pundit on TV get so angry. Tweety might ask a question as to why they are so stupid and Olbermann has his special comments but Ed Schultz was as pissed off as I have ever seen anybody on TV about something like this. Good job Ed. Keep it up.

You've never seen Hannity, O'Reilly or any of the Fox blowhards drop a load in their shorts before? Ed's just appropriating the Fox News model for his liberal views. Can't say I'm a fan. Calling people "unAmerican" and "psycho" and all that just stinks of the same divisive vitriol we on the left have had to deal with from the Limbaughs and FOx crowd for so long. It also gives our arguments about "hate speech" in the wake of the Jim Adkisson/Dr. Tiller tragedies much less credibility. Dehumanizing and marginalizing and entire group of people - no matter their viewpoint - is dangerous.

I'm not justifying Hewitt or his opinions, but when the right calls us un-American we call them out on it. Let's not support the same garbage from our side.

are worth considering, however, I don't think Schultz called for anyone to be taken out. And, I still think, that given the current economic climate, calling for moves that threaten the livelihoods of that many people it is un-American, no matter who says it.

Also Schultz's points are not lies like the slimeballs you mention. He doesn't manufacture false outrage over a lie. What Hewlett said IS un-American. There is nothing American about it. Especially for the reasons he wants to bring down the company. Sorry Grit yoiu are wrong here.

)O(

I can't think of something more unAmerican that actually advocating for this country's failure... in fact, the correct term would be "antiAmerican."

The fact that Hannity et al perverted the term via their projection exercises, does not mean that Schultz was wrong on this one. It just means you played into the whole narrative of the wingnuts...

Not that I am a big fan of Ed Schultz, but in this case he is correct: if as an American citizen actively advocate for the failure of this country to get your rocks off, then yeah... you are indeed pretty much an unAmerican asshole.

I am not a big fan of Ed Schultz either but the more he bring this crap to the surface and reacts the way he did the more I like him. There is plenty to question him on but on this and few other things he is on target.

I honestly don't care that much of Ed Schultz because he is waaaaay too much of a shill for the Dem establishment. I still remember his shilling for Daschle which was nauseating, to tell you the truth.

However, in this respect he is totally correct: if you actively advocate for the undermining of this country and its society, you are indeed being unamerican.

)O(

Especially when it involves a bailout at taxpayer's expense.

hugh hewitt is trying to set up the American taxpayer to not just lose jobs, but their tax dollars as well, because of his enmity toward Obama.

If only Hugh Hewitt would go hunting with Dick Cheney.

(Jeb used to say this) that, "Look, you hit them in every single hat they wear." That was the idea. He used to call them fodder. You hit the fodder in their hats as Taxpayers. You hit them in their hats as Investors and Savers. You hit them in their hats as Insurance Policy Owners through all these insurance scams his brother was involved in. Then there was, of course, Jeb's International Medical Corporation. Jeb also liked health care scams. But that was the idea the Bushes had, that you take the American taxpayer (which they called "One Fodder Unit," or OFU) and you hit them in every single hat they wear.

I don't know where the term came from, but "One Fodder Unit" became a popular term on the Republican cocktail party circuit in 1985. According to them, each individual American citizen equals One Fodder Unit.

(Reference: The Case for Sedition)

Jeb was loyal Bushie: when he was governor of FL, he cut taxes, ran up a deficit, scratched his head when the fat cats didn't "reinvest" their tax cuts, said the FL economy needed drastic measures, then cut services and education.

Typical neocon bullshit. The entire Bush family should be put in jail for life. That includes Barbara "rhymes with witch" Bush, the worst of them all.

Wow... Ed can kick butt with the best of them. I would love to see a "debate" between Ed Schultz and America hating Rush Limbaugh. I'm placing my money on Ed.

Me, too, but Rush won't debate ANYBODY because he chokes when he's not behind his studio mike. When he briefly filled in (for Pat Sajak?) on that talk show, he couldn't handle the hecklers in the audience.

He's a coward, and anyone with lick of sense would kill him in a debate.

...then does Hewitt boycott trade with China and boycott any and all corporations that use China labor or materials? Is he working to remove China from Most Favored Nations trading status? I doubt it.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Whatever happened to Ed Anger?

since the bush-obama financial bailout socialized the banking risks, does that mean that baby huey withdrew all of his money and keeps it under his mattress?

i mean, this couldn't just be about the UAW, could it?

But that rant was spot on. How despicable do you have to be to actively undermine the US economy? And some GOP rep went to China to tell them not to listen to Obama. Where is the outrage on that?

And some GOP rep went to China to tell them not to listen to Obama. Where is the outrage on that?
