Rush Limbaugh passes out his marching orders to the GOP: He wants Obama to fail

He is the worldwide voice of Conservatism, so the Republican party has just gotten its marching orders. I dare any Republican to defy him.
What this means, of course, is that he hopes the economy crashes into a full-blown depression. His multimillion-dollar salary is safe, obviously, so to hell with the nation and its economy if the cost of saving the country is being guided by a Democratic President.
Limbaugh: I'm happy to be the last man standing. I'm honored to be the last man standing. Yeah, I'm the true maverick. I can do more than four words. I could say I hope he fails and I could do a brief explanation of why. You know, I want to win. If my party doesn't, I do. If my party has sacrificed the whole concept of victory, sorry, I'm now the Republican in name only, and they are the sellouts.
I'm serious about this. Why in the world, it's what Ann Coulter was talking about, the tyranny of the majority, all these victims here, we gotta make sure the victims are finally assuaged. Well, the dirty little secret is this isn't going to assuage anybody's victim status, and the race industry isn't going to go away, and the fact that America's original sin of slavery is going to be absolved, it's not going to happen. Just isn't, folks. It's too big a business for the left to keep all those things alive that divide the people of this country into groups that are against each other. Yes, I'm fired up about this.

I have been sending Limpballs emails when I hear snippets of his show....I rarely hear him, except if I happen to be out in my car during the middle of the day. I've been addressing him as "Dear Messiah," because he often refers to Obama as "the One" or "The Messiah." Limpballs thinks he is always right, never makes mistakes, and never apologizes....so he must be the "Messiah," right???

I understand your point of view and respect your opinion, but nonetheless, the majority of the troops asked for him to be on there. Should he be pulled anyway, even if this is what they want? What if we all take the time to e-mail or call our congressperson and senators let them know that we want them to cooperative and especially the republicans to remember that Obama won the majority of votes. We don't want them to be listening to rightwing talk show host who haven't been elected to office. After all this effects the majority. Fat boy doesn't care he has his millions. The only hope we have if fat boy dies from overeating. We have serious problems they need to shut down these radio shows that preach hate.
The first thing I do when I get told me to ignore someone is go listen to them to find out why I was told that. So, nah, don't want to give him the illusion of credibility.
The hate speech though, that is another subject. I usually call out if something sounds like hate speech to me in conversation. People tend to want to rephrase a lot. It seems to sound different when Rush says it, and when other people say it in front of a not totally receptive audience. It may not change their minds, but it does set the tone that hate speech is not acceptable.

It is high time to reverse the media consolidation that has been allowed to occur during the last administration. Most media outlets have fallen into so few hands that the only interests they can possibly continue to serve are those that reflect the voices of the mega corporations that now own most of them. Even a cursory review of the articles here reveals a consistent tendency to glorify those on the left and vilify those on the right. Do you intend to criticize right wingers for defending their turf while taking the same approach on the left? How can you praise the ideals of change and progress while clinging to the age old pattern of political mud slinging? It would be foolish not to challenge the policies of the right. But it's even more foolish to expect those who are on the right not to try and defend them.
