...if we "blend them" all together with Iraq and Afghanistan, then nobody has to know the real number that died for no reason in Iraq.....clever.

......I appreciate the effort at acknowledgement of all passings ....
but I wish they would not co-mingle natural death with the needless murders of our soldiers in Iraq/Pak/Afg......each requires their own distinct moment of reflection, as the two types of death occur within a complex moral dynamic......and share little in common...

It was about Frank Woodruff Buckles, who is the last American military veteran from World War I still alive. He turned 108 today.

The First World War ended 90 years ago with 116,561 American casualties. Despite this, there is still no memorial in Washington to honour their service. Disgraceful.

If anyone is interested in wishing him a happy birthday, he has a website, 'frankbuckles.org'.

This is the second week in a row that the number of US Troop deaths have outpaced the number of posters at the In Memoriam blog.

Ten kids dead. Obama is President. These are numbers that would shame the Bush haters into vitriol at this post but, Messiah Obama is off limits.

Bring our Kids home Barak... Now!

Why the hell do you think you were elected? Dumbass.
