Hey Larry. The only thing I care less about than Sarah Palin's new book is what Joe Wurzelbacher a.k.a. Joe the fake Plumber thinks about it. Sorry to inflict JTP on anyone who hits play on the video but I can't believe King or anyone else is still giving this guy what is way past due on his fifteen minutes of fame. Thanks a lot John McCain. Nothing like seeing your cheap campaign trick refusing to ever go away.

Looks like American's for Prosperity's Tim Phillips has resorted to hiring some cheap help with their tour bashing the Employee Free Choice Act. Who better than Mr. Fake Plumber Joe Wurzelbacher? I guess these guys couldn't find any real plumbers to go out there and attack unions. From KDKA Pittsburgh:

'Joe The Plumber' Speaks In Green Tree

Samuel Joseph Wuerzelbacher was there to rally against the Employee Free Choice Act – a bill that's supposed to make it easier for unions to organize.

Some local unions organized against Joe at the event.

President Obama supports the Employee Free Choice act.

It appears to be dead for now in Congress due to opposition from Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter.

Apparently the GOP's favorite fake plumber Joe Wurzelbacher speaking about Nancy Pelosi and saying that "those kind of people I usually took behind the woodshed and beat the livin' tar out of" was a bit hit at Americans for Prosperity's right wing conference that they held as their alternative to Netroots Nation.

It's so nice to see these good self proclaimed Christians having no problem with advocating violence as a means to an end that they would prefer to use. I don't have a lot of use for Mrs. "Impeachment is Off the Table" Pelosi myself, but I find it extremely offensive that someone would even suggest that violence would be a suitable means to get that or any other point across to her.

I'm sure Mr. Wurzelbacher will feign ignorance once called out on this and say he wasn't actually calling for anyone to beat the crap out of Nancy Pelosi. Sorry Joe... or is it Sam? If you put the suggestion out there that this is acceptable behavior, you are advocating violence towards the Speaker. It's unacceptable and given the fringe that's been whipped up into a frenzy these days, it's dangerous. Shame on you.

If you're worried about responsibility, you'd better take some for the words that come out of your mouth.

Video and story from Media Matters, July 13:

Megyn, Megyn, Megyn. What has gone to the FOX anchor's head? It's one thing to demonize People for the American Way, we kind of expect that. But in an interview with the attorney for the New Haven Firefighter who sued for reverse discrimination (in a case made notable by the involvement of Judge Sotomayor) BAM out of nowhere you compare him to Joe the Plumber? Joe not-a-plumber, Joe who toured with McCain as a prop? Poor Joe, the "innocent" guy who wanted to avoid the public spotlight so vigorously, he hired a Nashville publicist to handle his press requests?

And somehow, stating that the GOP "failed to vet" Joe the Plumber is an unfair smear?

Kudos to the attorney for agreeing quickly with Megyn Kelly as if it were her own idea. You do what you can for your client and your own firm's PR, no matter how divorced from reality your claims might be. Every lawyer knows the value of billable hours, my friends.

h/t The Political Carnival and The Plum Line

Joe the Plumber gets called out for being the clueless shill he is. He hasn't read the bill and can't answer questions about it, but he's more than happy to take someone's money to go out there and campaign against it. There's the face of the Republican Party, folks. Doesn't have a friggin' clue and willing to say anything for money.

From The Plum Line, whose title I stole for this post and could not have stated any better:

Oof. Looks like Joe the Plumber’s campaigning against the Employee Free Choice Act in Pennsylvania didn’t go so well.

Mr. Plumber, whose appearances were organized by the anti-EFCA group Americans for Prosperity, admitted he knew “little” about the legislation after being confronted with questions at one of the events yesterday in Harrisburg by a Pennsylvania progressive group. He was also heckled by dozens of Pennsylvania union workers, according to a local report.

And after his rough time in Harrisburg, he skipped a subsequent rally in Philadelphia, according to union officials who were there.

Here’s some video of the grilling Mr. Plumber took from the group, Keystone Progress, which prompted the irritated plumber to respond: “I know a little about a lot of things. But I don’t know a lot about everything.”

Pressed on the specifics of the law, Mr. Plumber repeatedly refused to answer, and finally lost his cool, telling his questioner: “Drop it, brother, drop it. I never said I was an expert, man.”

Not an expert indeed.

"Joe the Plumber" Met with Union Protesters in Pittsburgh

Good to see. Sam "Joe the fake Plumber" Wurzelbacher was met by some real plumbers in Pittsburgh. His latest gig is attacking the Employee Free Choice Act for the anti-labor group Americans for Prosperity. Hopefully Mr. Wurzelbacher is continued to be greeted as warmly on the rest of his stops.

Think Progress has more. The report is from local affilitate KDKA. At the end of the segment they claim that Wurzelbacher supports union members but just not their leadership. Anyone who would say something like that obviously doesn't understand anything about unions because you cannot separate the two.

Joe the Plumber gets another gig

This is not a joke. Americans for Prosperity, an anti-Employee Free Choice Act group, is hiring Joe the Plumber to speak at rallies against the average working class in America.

Joe the Plumber is hitting the campaign trail again! He’s been pressed into service to do a series of events throughout Pennsylvania rallying opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act, the organizer of the events confirms.

Mr. Plumber will speak at rallies against the measure in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia on March 30th and 31st, according to a spokesperson for the anti-EFCA group Americans for Prosperity.

“The public loves Joe the Plumber,” the spokesperson, Mary Ellen Burke, claimed to me. “They see him as a role model.”

Asked whether Joe the Plumber had any particular knowledge or expertise about EFCA that might explain the decision to enlist him, Burke said that he was being enlisted to provide a “grassroots perspective” and “the working perspective” on the measure.

Pressed on whether Joe the Plumber has any particular claim to being a spokesperson on the issue, Burke replied that “he represents the American worker.” Burke couldn’t immediately say whether Joe the Plumber was being paid for his appearances.

Wonder if he'll tell the anti-EFCA crowds they make him horny, too. Sounds like a sure recipe for success.

The public doesn't love Joe the Plumber, insane conservatives do. This only makes things look so much worse for Republicans in this country. How weak and foolish Susan Collins or Olympia Snowe must feel seeing that Joe the Plumber is being billed as a celebrity in the GOP. It's so pathetic.

I guarantee you that after his run dies -- well, OK, it may never die, because they are a leaderless party, and he's about as qualified as any of them -- but when it does and if a union job opens up for him, he'll take it in a second.

How low have conservatives sunk? At Brent Bozell's MRC Gala party last night, they had Joe the Plumber accept an award at their swanky awards dinner.

Apparently unable to contain his libido in the nation's capital, Samuel Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber, expressed his sexual urges to a sea of conservatives gathered at Washington's Grand Hyatt hotel.

"God, all this love and everything in the room - I'm horny," Joe said onstage.

Joe accepted an award on behalf of the "liberal media" at the 2009 MRC's Gala and DisHonors Awards, a roasting of the "most outrageously biased liberal media reporters." Faux awards of the night included "the Obamagasm" and the "Media Messiah."

Joe, referring to himself as the "token redneck," received a standing ovation as he waltzed onto the stage while "God Bless the USA" played.

Here's a list of the judges that vote on the awards.

DisHonors Awards winners were selected by a distinguished panel of ten leading media observers, including Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Tony Blankley, Larry Kudlow, Cal Thomas, Walter E. Williams and Kate O'Beirne. (list of judges.)

If I was a conservative, I would keep him as far away as possible, but for liberals he's the gift that keeps on giving.

From The Daily Show Feb. 4, 2009.

It's no secret that the Republican party is desperate for new vision, a leader who can take them..... beyond the wreckage of lost elections and into a new era. But who will their savior be?

Joe the Plumber now advising the GOP

Sooo.... I guess the Republicans actually want to stay in the minority?

Politico:

Fresh off his stint as a war correspondent in Gaza, Joe the Plumber is now doing political strategy with Republicans.

When GOP congressional aides gather Tuesday morning for a meeting of the Conservative Working Group, Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher – more commonly known as Joe the Plumber — will be their featured guest. This group is an organization of conservative Capitol Hill staffers who meet regularly to chart GOP strategy for the week.

Wurzelbacher, who became a household name during the presidential election, will be focusing his talk on the proposed stimulus package. He's apparently not a fan of the economic rescue package, according to members of the group.

Rick Sanchez obliterates Joe the Plumber

Born in communist Cuba, Rick Sanchez knows a thing or two about media censorship. So when Joe the Plumber Middle East War Correspondent starts babbling on about how the media shouldn't be permitted to cover war, Rick goes off. Listen to Sanchez read Joe's gibberish as if he were a 2nd grader. Too funny.

CNN Transcripts:

Meanwhile, something else to take note of today. I want to share with you the thoughts of Samuel Wurzelbacher -- you know, "Joe the Plumber" -- now Joe the war correspondent. Yes, he's been in Israel filing reports.

And here's his analysis, as reported by the Associated Press. You're going to love this: "I don't think journalists should be anywhere around war. I mean you guys report where our troops are at. You report what's happening day to day. You make a big deal out of it. I think it's asinine. I think media should be abolished from, you know, reporting, war is hell."

There you have it.

Samuel, let me talk to you directly....

This isn't the first time Sanchez has squared off against Joe. See here for their first encounter.

Must... Resist... Hitting... Head... Against... Keyboard.

Pajama Media TV's idea of a war correspondent, Samuel Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, goes to Israel and laments...war correspondents in a warzone. That's a curious way to kiss up to the boss: admit that your assignment is a bad idea.

Here's direct quote from Joe--who's currently reporting from just outside Gaza:

"I'll be honest with you. I don't think journalists should be anywhere allowed war. I mean, you guys report where our troops are at. You report what's happening day to day. You make a big deal out of it. I-I think it's asinine. You know, I liked back in World War I and World War II when you'd go to the theater and you'd see your troops on, you know, the screen and everyone would be real excited and happy for'em. Now everyone's got an opinion and wants to downer--and down soldiers. You know, American soldiers or Israeli soldiers. I think media should be abolished from, uh, you know, reporting. You know, war is hell. And if you're gonna sit there and say, 'Well look at this atrocity,' well you don't know the whole story behind it half the time, so I think the media should have no business in it."

Thanks to Brandon at Vet Voice for transcribing something that even makes my cast iron stomach wretch.

Leave it to a bunch of rightwing boneheads to hire someone who doesn't even understand the function of a free press. Maybe the PJ bunch should consider renaming themselves Pravda. Of course, considering that Israel is preventing actual journalists (not the fake kind like Joe here) into Gaza to report what's actually happening, maybe it's unnecessary to be that overt.
